It’s bloody hideous looking from the front and no, car drivers will pay no more attention to it than any other bike so it won’t save lives, that’s misleading and without a shred of evidence. Saccadic eye movements from drivers in vehicles at junctions are as likely to miss this as any other. It does have decent performance and handling but has forgotten what it is in an attempt to keep up with the Jones’s. The 1200 and 1250 had that perfect blend of torque to adequate power which worked well off road and on road had better looks, better pillion comfort and suited the slightly lazier more compliant ride. It’s also a lie to say its much lighter. It isn’t spec for spec, it just distributes it better and feels lighter. Vfm, the new tiger 1200 trumps it. It’s better kitted out too and a way better road touring bike for two up riding but I still distrust longevity of triumphs after a bad ownership experience. I much prefer the 1250/1200RS for road work and won’t be jumping on the 1300 bandwagon anytime soon. In the real world it offers nothing more and is terrible vfm. Good luck to anyone buying one. Some just have to have the latest model and if you have the means, why not. Oh, and it is NOT “banging out 165bhp”😂😂😂😂. It’s rated as 156bhp at the crank.

October 1st of 23, I watched a video of the 1300, did not like the look of it at all. Oct. 12th I purchased a 2023 R 1250 GS before they sold out. Could not be happier with my 1250. I’m certain the 1300 is a better bike, just not for me. Is the warranty void if motor is flashed and tuned?

I think I am in that camp when it comes to the 1250...still looks like a gs, whereas the new one looks like the GS has had a one night stand with the XR and the 1300 is the result. Apparently doesn't effect the warranty.....but! It does make a noticeable difference, which is why I said the standard 1300 that I tested didn't blow me a way with the engine. Sure the rest of the bike is just way tighter , lighter and easier to flick around. Possibly in denial and the inevitable will happen next year as and when I seek to change my 1250.....but it's a great bike ...easy to go around in circles ..keep it/change it for the new one etc🙈

I thought it had 145hp. Anyway, I think I'll stick with my 2015 KTM 1290 Super Adventure, which has electronically adjustable suspension, electronic cruise, multiple rider modes, 3 piece luggage, crash bars, 160hp, ABS, traction control, blah blah blah...just no Bluetooth connectivity (not that I'd ever use it as I use the connection between my phone and helmet, only) or a quick shifter (which, I will admit, IS a minor bummer)...paid $6K USD for it and it is a truly wonderful machine. Had enough left over (when compared to the R1300GS minimum cost) to buy a 2023 Gas Gas ES700 with 190 miles and put a few grand of nice extras on it...and still had some $ left lol !
