I was on my Spotify looping my personal playlist last night, when my brain said to me, "Let's listen to something else" and my fingers instinctively typed "Scandinavian Music" on the search box. Then, came the moment of "Hmm which one should I pick?" for the playlist options that showed up. My eyes quickly darted to the playlist of "Scandinavian hymns and strings", and after picking a few songs off the list, I scrolled further down and this beauty of the song is located at the bottom of the list. Who knew that the last song in the list turned out to be my first favorite, especially after I found out the translations which tells a really beautiful story!

You did an outstanding job. This is one of of my favourite songs. Any pronunciation notes are from a linguist's standpoint totally unimportant. You made one of my favourite versions of my favourite songs. I'll spread it far and wide.

Your voice is something otherworldly... I can feel the stress and negativity in me melting away as I listen to it. I much prefer your version to Gjallarhorn's in terms of the vocals, it seems to contain more emotion. The kulning is also a very nice addition - better than just an instrumental segment. Well done, I can't help myself from replaying it over and over. :D You've earned a follower, and I wish you much success in the days to come!

Absolutely love it. What is the symbol supposed to be? It looks like a Chanukiah, but I guess that was not the intention, so what is it?

I just found out about you in a reddit thread about arists similar to Joanna Newsom. Fantastic work, love both the singing/vocal arrangement as well as the harp.

I'd just like to say that I first came across this song from an auto-generated playlist on Spotify, recommended to me while I was listening to Kalandra. This melody was immediately compelling, and stayed with me, haunting my dreams. I have since heard many versions of this song, but yours still remains my favorite performance of it. Beautifully sung, masterfully performed, the kulning is my favorite part. I have already pre-ordered your new album.

Its a story about Frejya getting baptised. Because of the Christian invasian this is when religion started to get fuzzy
According to one website, the song is full of old pagan symbols, such as a “grey horse” which is a metaphor for death. The site translates the song’s title I Riden Så to “Ride Gently Through the Sacred Grove With Her”, but it is also translated to "Ye Ride So Carefully". It tells the story of a man called Silibrand who sees his daughter coming towards him in a linden grove. Silibrand says “O woe is me” (“A välest mej”) because he seems to be in the afterlife, and he knows his pregnant daughter (or at least her babies) may soon be joining him. He spreads out his blue cape “under the linden so green” and his daughter gives birth to twin sons. One son is given to Freyja, the Norse goddess; the other to Valhalla, a “hall of the slain” in Norse mythology.
