Words can't begin to describe the haunting beauty of this masterful track off this seminal album. I have lost count the number of times I've gone to sleep listening to this work of art. I'm not a great guitarist by any means, but, I've found that the songs from Kveldssanger so nice to play physically. There's a certain quality to their music which is so hard to pinpoint. Thanks for posting. Regards, H

I think 'farar' is supposed to be some old form of 'farger' (colors)? "Ulvsblakk den gjenom luften i natten farar" "The pale wolf through the air in the colors of the night" I'm not scandinavian though, if someone has a better translation for the song please post.
@clarkflavor4 жыл бұрын
It is more likely an older or dialectical form of "farer", which is the same as in English; to travel. Like a way farer would.

It's quite customary for very talented individuals to hold their own creations under severe critique. Though most would agree that Kveldssanger is nothing of a failure, perhaps in the eyes of Garm it failed to achieve the heights of some fantastic ideal. Just a thought.

Very articulate, bluemoon flame. I'm not a 'black metal hater', it's actually one of my most well loved genres. However, I never understood why they occasionally have strange vocals (like the howling/chanting in this one) and the imagery they use. It's different, but effective (to the 'few' that bother to listen). Many merely dismiss it off the bat because of the supposed 'Anti-Christian' themes. While I admit it is a main proponent to black metal, there are many bands that aren't 'Satanic'...
