My worst bad beat: I was in a tournament sponsored by a local radio station, and the winner won an entry into a big poker tournament. I won the first leg of the tournament (there were 8 in total) and made it to the final table with 7 others. I had the chip lead almost the entire time, but late with just three players left (one of whom had next to nothing in front of him), I went all-in following the turn with a pair of aces and a queen kicker. The guy with roughly the same amount of chips as I called with an open-ended straight draw and just one card to come. He hit his straight on the river and won the free entry to a tournament in Atlantic City because of it. We had taken a break just before this hand, and I still think to this day that someone set the hand up while we were outside. Who calls with an open-ender after the turn in those circumstances???? Will never let that one go.

Long time subscriber here...I absolutely love how you have been highlighting even more hands that you thought you were way good; describing the thought process along the way, only to see that the opponent was laying in the weeds or in some other way out played you on that particular hand. It refreshing to see you admit that even when you think it through in a solid manner, anything can happen, or that guy can be analyzing the same way...amazing content, as always Brad! Love it!

Brad you would not believe this insane bad beat. It involves two of the wackiest players at the table. One (1) who always calls but only raises the nuts and one (2) who is super agro, but genuinely good at the game. 1 opens preflop with 2 reraising them. They go to a flop of 4,7,8 rainbow and 1 bets. 2 reraises on the flop and 1 3-bet jams with QJ of diamonds. 2 has aces and they run it once. It comes out 9, 10. 1 wins with a runner runner straight

Hi Brad. My worst bad beat ever was in 2008 when I played the WSOP main event. On Day 3 there were about 800 players left it paid at 666( Satan's number). UTG opened to 10k at blinds of 1500/3000. I had JJ on the button. I had 2nd in chips with 45 bb. UTG chip leader at table. I flatted as I noticed the SB was going to fold BB folded. Flop was J 7 4 rainbow. He checked which was odd as he always cbet. I bet 7500 and he check raised to 60k when he meant to bet 40k he said. I jammed as I felt he would have to call with his whole range and he did. He had AK. turn Q river 10. Ugh. Worst feeling ever.

Your sign says "tell me about your worst bad beat." I hope you won't mind if I tell you about the bad beat I consider the best. This was 30 years ago, in the poker room at the Bellagio in Vegas. I was playing one/two no limit, just a $200 buy in. Not much, but I was poor. After maybe an hour at the table, I am dealt pocket Tens, both red. I limp in and call the $15 raise when it gets back around to me.There are six of us in the hand. The flop comes Queen of clubs, Ten of spades, Ten of clubs. I am feeling invincible. First better opens for $50, next guy raises to $100, next player folds, and I push all in for about $450. The last two players in the hand fold, the opener calls me and the second guy calls as well. The turn is an Ace of clubs, both of my remaining opponents check. Finally, the river comes a Jack of clubs. The opener checks, second goes all in with the rest of his stack, and opener calls him. As you already know I had quad Tens. The opener turns over two mid range clubs for a flush, and looks crestfallen. Then the hammer falls, the second guy turn over an Ace of spades and the King of clubs, a Royal Flush. There goes my invincible hand. At the point, a familiar sounding voice behind me says, "that's a bad beat..." I turn around to see Doyle Brunson looking over my shoulder at the table. He had been playing at a nearby table and noticed the excitement of our, admittedly small, thee way all in. He looked at me, said "nice try" and shook my hand. Best bad beat ever.

My worst bad beat story: about 12 years ago the WSOP tour had an event in Vancovuer BC. They held a few satellite events the week before where the top 5% won a full suite of entrnace fees to every event being held there. I entered the last satellite which had about 100 entries and I managed to get to the final table with 10 players and a stack of 100 BB with roughly 40% of tournament chips. After sitting down at the final table I got KK against AQ who had approximately 35% of tournament chips. The flop came KJ2 and I lead out, not wanting to take a chance at slow playing the hand and getting donked out, and my opponent called me. The turn was a blank, so I bet out large. However my opponent came over the top all in with nothing but a gutshot - I guess he figured that we were so close that I wouldn't be able to call him without the nuts, but with top set I had to call. And of course as we know he hit the 10 on the river and crippled my stack. That wasn't the bad beat story though. I managed to grind my way through the next few orbits with my tiny stack and we got down to the bubble. At this point there were 4 players with large enough stacks that they didn't have to press hard....all but one of us were going to win the tournament package. However I was down to 2 BBs and the player to my left also was down to 2 BBs. I was small blind, with the other tiny stack to my left as BB and we both realized of course if either one of us could survive the next blind passing with a win - even if it were just the blinds - that whoever gets that win first would likely out-survive the other. On this hand everybody folded to me in the small blind. I look down at my hand and what do you know, gift from god....POCKET QQs!!! I push all in. Of course buddy on my left was going to have to call me regardless of what his holdings were because he couldn't let me win this uncontested. He looks at his holdings and, gift from god...he has an A-4!!! So he calls. He covered me. However I just need to avoid an A so he would have to play his next hand and he'd get called by the table and bubble out. The entire room has come to the table to watch the final hand...there's a huge crowd. Dealer sets up and then sends the flop....all good for me! No ace and no straight or flushes coming. Then the turn card...a blank. Now....we all have our own bad beat stories of course. And the difference in this hand between winning and losing wasn't massive like the high roller tournaments. But this was a $400 entry and the tournament entries package was over $7,500 in entrance fees...while bubble loser was going to collect the $400 entry from the other 5 players so it was a bit of a kick in the nuts to lose. But the hardest part was the way the dealer dealt that river card because I will never forget it. All we needed to do was avoid an ace on the river. And this dealer was one of those guys that could shuffle and handle the cards like a magician. And the way he dealt this river he didn't just pull it off the top, flip it and place it on the table. Rather, he pulled the card off the top, put it on the table in its place by the other community cards face down, and then he flicked the card upwards so that the card would twirl in the air straight up and then land down on the table in its place. And when he flicked this card up it was like it was going in slow motion - and you could see this card twirling and you could see that there was virtually all white on the open side of the card as it was twirling. So even as its in the air and you couldn't be certain what that final card was going to be, you had a pretty good feeling that you knew it was going to be bad news. And of course it landed as an Ace of Spades, and all the spectators surrounding the table erupted when they saw the card land, and my opponent is up there jumping up and down, and I sat there just a bit stunned as everybody else in that room were freaking out including the other 4 players who were all celebrating their good fortune. Nobody in the television coverage ever shows that side of it with the loser who takes a devastating hit but its really not a good feeling. I really wanted to try playing those larger events...don't know if I'll ever get as close to being able to doing that again.

My worst bad beat was on the stone bubble. got it all in with a set of Ks on a K 3 7 rainbow board. Opponent bluff shoved the flop with A10 off and it came runner runner Q J. Have had worse but that one still hurts me

My only complaint to you liking "jiggities" is my bad beat story. Shortly after turning 21, I was playing 1/2 NLHE at a casino and had JJ. I called a 12 dollar raise in position, heads up to a flop of Q J 2. UTG checks, I bet 24. UTG calls. Turn is the case J. UTG checks. I check. River is a Q. UTG bets 100. I jam for 250 more. UTG snap calls with QQ. The bad beat jackpot had just got hit recently, so it wasn't near as big as what I got. (it was enough to cover my loss on the hand plus a few hundred more). 6 hours later, I have JcJh again, there is a pre flop raise to 10 dollars, I call. Flop is 10d, 9d, 4s. Middle position bets 25, I raise to 85, middle position goes all in for 325 effective, I call. He shows Kd Qd. Turn is clean, River.. the Case J of diamonds for a river straight flush. I quit playing for quite sometime, and JJ is my least favorite hand because of it. Obviously since hitting the bad beat jackpot hours prior, there was nothing in it to win this time. It has made it easier to fold JJ if there are over cards out, or if I get a gut feeling someone has QQ or better.

That nine of diamonds is marked and has a fairly serious crease in the middle of it. I noticed on the Ace 9 suited hand and the pocket nines hand. 😮 Floor!

Oh and worst Bad Beat? Recently: Quad 3s beaten by Quad 9s. Pocket 3s I call a raise of 25 preflop. No other callers. Flop 3, 3, 9. I shove. Opponent of course has the best full house possible right here and obviously calls. Run out is a Queen, then the 9 when he had already started saying by and leaving the table. How it is :)

My worst bad beat was when I was dealt pocket Qs and the guy on my left had pocket 3s. The flop came Q 3 3 which lead to my all in vs his on the river. I went from loving it to total shock but thats poker. I managed to congratulate the guy as best I could before getting a beer.

Hey Brad, I used to live in Jacksonville, and I played at Best Bet (I referred to it as Regency, since it's next to the Regency Mall). I was even there when the poker room opened back in March of 2012. Back then, the max buyt-in was $500 for a 2/5 game. I found Regency to be tough at times, but I've had some big wins there. My biggest win at a card casino came at Regency. If you ever run into a tough middle-aged woman there named Diana, or a tough semi-young guy with a big mouth named Daniel, tell them that you were referred to them by the black musical trivia guy with a white cane named John. They'll know that is. ☺ Great vlog, Brad!

Worst bad beat. Just happened this week at the Horeshoe. There for a few days vacation. 1-3, had maybe 180 left. Early position, 8 players. Pocket fours. Led for $10, four callers. Flop 10-10-4 I have a full house and led for 10- probably could have checked, but wanted to build pot. Two folds, button raises to 30, I call. Turn is a 9. I go all in, button calls. Pot is $400. She shows Ace , 10, she has one out… and hits it. That one hurt as I play maybe twice a year as my state has no poker rooms and doesn’t allow on line play either.
