@@4WardGarage Would definitely appreciate this! Just about to hit the 4300 mile mark and was wanting to try and service it myself this time around. My main concern is the chain tightening and not knowing how to make sure both sides of the axle are the same.

Good vid, appreciate the demo and insight. How much difference do you think a set of proper knobbies or even gummies might make on your opinion?
@4WardGarage10 ай бұрын
I think that for what this bike is intended for, it wouldn't make a big difference. I only say that because I would still want this bike to perform well on the road because it absolutely excels at that. The stock tires are the perfect units for road riding while sprinkling in a gravel or dirt road here or there.

The Svartpilen is a great around town bike. Also great for paved, tightly winding mountain roads. Almost unbeatable in the 20 to 70 MPH range. However... .....There is one giant problem with the riding the Svartpilen on dirt. The footpegs are too far back. The front to rear balance is off for dirt riding. Pitch it into a turn on dirt or gravel and you'll loss the front end. That's because you can't load the front end through the footpegs. For multiple reasons, entering a turn on asphalt is a different situation. One is that your weight is more on the seat and over the handlebars, GP style. There's a second problem. The chainguard is ineffective for preventing dirt from the rear wheel of getting deposited on the chain. Do it long enough and you'll have a compromised chain which has the equivalent of losing about five engine horsepower.

It’s a great bike! You just have to know what it’s good at and be careful on everything else. I have zero intention of riding it off-road past this video. I just wanted to show what it can do if someone was curious. Could not agree more with your statement that it is unbeatable from 20-70 mph. I absolutely love it on 55 mph state routes. Thanks!

If a bicycle can go off road, why not a motorcycle, any motorcycle for that matter,,,, it all depends of what is defined as off road :D

Have you seen the price on dirt bikes? You’d be lucky to get a decent dirt bike for $5k. You buy this bike to drive around town, go on adventures on the street, but then you can take it down logging roads to see mountains and lakes and go camping. Dirt washes off you know…

I know where I can pick one up new for slightly more than $4,600. So I would disagree since dirt bikes are more.
