Those Pirelli STRs come stock on a few bikes, I think they're a super under-rated tire. You can ride them fairly hard on the street and go surprisingly far off road. With very expensive street legal nobbies I only see like a 1% improvement in loose dirt and mud, no improvement on most dirt roads and dry ATV trails, yet I have to really slow down on the street because they start to slip and spin out especially if it's wet or cold. Too bad it's nearly impossible to get the STRs where I live, plus they're really expensive.

Very good analogy man! I've experimented deflating these new tires to 10 psi, and they grip really well off road like that, in more extreme environments like sand and mud!

You should add a rear sprocket up a couple teeth then you'll be back to speedy riding 😊

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been thinking of doing that, but I think at that point the bike would be in too high rpm on the highway! :C but I may give it a go!

I guess the fall stoppers are a must for early offroad experiences, no? Sadly a bit pricey. But what cage protection and pads did u buy? Also do you have a better motor guard, or just the stock one?
@countrycalisthenics98Ай бұрын
I think the extra protection is an absolute must for offloading for sure! The crash cage is quite pricey but has already proven itself in my case haha, it's the one from t-rex racing! The axle sliders along with the frame sliders/exhaust sliders are just from Aliexpress so they are quite inexpensive! I do just have the stock engine guard which is just basically the exhaust and that black piece beside the exhaust!

@@countrycalisthenics98 Do you have links for those on aliexpress / how do I know they'll fit? I will then invest in a crash guard for the motor and get them I guess. Just bought it last week.

I have on my KTM Duke 390 bigger size adventure tyres. To put it my mechanic added 2 links to the new chain. Only issue is - odometer shows less kilometers ridden. Speedometer lies too, I guess.

no decreased power issues.

@@Alienbikers-in-India Bigger as in taller, or just wider? Because if it's taller, and you're accelerating the same way, then that's strange haha, but good for you man!

Up to the 2019 model, it's better offroad than later models due to the exhaust being routed through the bike as opposed to being routed underneath the bike which takes away from clearance. If you would take off roading even somewhat seriously, you'd definitely want to get a front fender raiser to elevate that front fender. You could also get a longer chain to increase clearance between the rear fender and tire. With that being said, I had loads of fun on the bike in its stock form and absolutely do not regret getting the bike and off-roading it, but the fun will only get better with the off-roading upgrades!
