General info: If you visit Istanbul, buy a re-usable card for transportation called Istanbul Kart. Its valid in Metro, Tram, Bus and Sea Transportation. The card would cost like 15tl, after you can just top up basically everywhere.

Actually, to buy permanent tickets that the man gave him, you need to go to a place in Kadıköy owned by the Istanbul Government. There is a very long line there but it's worth it.

Actually Istanbuls metro system is quite extensive, probably top 20 largest networks in the world.

The machine didn't took 50 because it only gives coins for change. it probably excepts 10-20 liras and coins. If you're planning to stay for a longer time, the resuable card is cheaper for every pass. I hope you have fun with your stay in Istanbul

You should visit Kadikoy Moda on the asian side. Its one of the coolest neighbourhoods according to timeout magazine. I can definitely recommend it.

Burn out from extensive travelling and furthermore people like in SL,Pakistan & India are very friendly and approachable.Being a white man Macs is different from them which make him somehow a celeberity.However here in Istanbul Mac is just a another figure like the locals.Hence Mac could not interact with the locals more effectively than he does in the earlier countries .Thus Mac look more sombre in his Istanbul trip.
