Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY , we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

I have lived in Indy my whole life and I can tell you the whole city screamed as loud as you did when he won, Helio is an amazing human and nobody better to bring back the excitement after a long year. So glad you got to experience it the way you did, sometimes us locals take it for granted and forget the pure magnitude of the greatest spectacle in racing. You will have to come back next year and see what a real carb day is all about!

Scary to imagine what this would have been like if K & N had tried to do this 50 years ago. Overzealous yellow shirts denying access, drunken violence in the infield, getting the van stuck in the mud, cars on fire (not just the ones on the track), police arresting hundreds of spectators, the ever-present feeling of imminent doom and tragedy at the event, the uncertainty of whether your favorite driver would still be alive and unhurt at the end. The modern Indy 500 is like a family trip to Disney World compared to those days.

It blows them away every time. You don’t have to be a racing fan to fall in love it’s the Indy 500! You should go back next year when it’s full capacity with all the events! My husband n i have been together since '89. He's been going to the 500 since '69 when he was still in his mom's tummy. I've only missed 2 races since we've been together, excluding Covid close. Our boys are now 4th generation in his family to have been going to the 500. Every yr around Feb, we start getting Indy fever. It's truly in our blood n soul now.❤❤❤❤❤

I am a lady scientist/engineer who honestly believes that some things and some moments in time happen thru "karma" or for a reason. I have been following Indy and Nascar for a while. I can tell all readers that it is very rare for an Indy 500 driver to allow guests they have not met before into their personal space (RV, pit area) before a big race. Just not done. Yet Helio warmly embraced you guys. As a backstory, he was a driver for Roger Penske for 20 years but was not given a new contract, and although they considered younger drivers, Meyer-Shank gave Helio a chance. I think you two along with Helio's amazing hospitality all played a part in an amazing confluence to make HC a four time winner (most with 3 others). Now I have a Nascar favorite I'd like you to meet . . . . . . .lol. You guys are awesome.

Seeing you experience what I have experienced for 57 years of my life, and to see the excitement you share with all of us who make the Greatest Spectacle in Racing a part of our May every year, is phenomenal. You need to come back when the place is full for the 500...there is NOTHING like 500,000 spectators at a single event. My dad was a race car driver~ remember being in the pit as a young child. I wanted him to put our differences aside ( I forgave him), and have him help me rebuild my conversion van… but… I wasn’t able to see him, then he died of Covid. Great seeing the Purdue band again at the Indy 500! #BoilerUp! Also, that drum is over 90 years old, and when it was built it was the biggest drum! The crew runs a bunch with the drum while also doing some tricks during halftime performances.

This two part series captured everything that makes the Indy 500 the greatest race in the world. I’ve been an Indy Car fan since childhood and dreamed of becoming an Indy Car mechanic. While I made it up the ladder I was never pro level material, it makes me respect those that do it so much more. I've been a follower since the beginning. You're editing skills have grown so much over the years and is easily now some of the best out there. This VLOG right here proves it. You had me crying with emotion at the end when I know nothing about Indy Car Racing. You have such a special connection with all of us. Please don't ever stop vlogging. I do look forward to the day when you ditch the Van and get back to International Travel, but I do appreciate you doing your best to keep the channel going and keeping us all engaged during this Pandemic. Good job, some great video. I first went to the Indy 500 when my twin girls were 3 months old. It was the first break my wife and I took from taking care of them 24/7. They are 35 now, and have been to Indy with me a couple of times out of the dozen or more times I've gone. You really stumbled into some good experiences there. Mario, Rick Mears, and Emerson Fittipaldi all impressed me with how great their memory for a name and face is. The longest conversation I had with any of them was 30 seconds, yet years later, each would pick me out of a crowd to wave to and say hi as if I were an old friend. At the Grand Prix of Miami one year, I was carrying pro photo gear, and was following the crew of the winning driver (Jacques Villeneuve) as they pushed the car from the race course back to the garage. Nobody stopped me as I followed them into the restricted area, and one of the crew may have even said I was with them, so I'd get the whole thing on film. I think that Jacques' girlfriend may have been the only one who thought I was an imposter, appearing to ask a crew member something while pointing at me from maybe 40 feet away with a crowd of maybe 50 insiders there. And they again must have said I was OK, but I made sure not to point the camera straight at her after that. Talking to a crew member and handing them a Gatorade on a hot day before following them around didn't hurt, I'm sure. Getting into Indy to park can be an experience, but nothing like some of the traffic jams getting out, when you really need VIP treament like you had, or tons of patience. I park a couple of miles away from the track and walk, it's easier to walk a couple extra miles when leaving, than to go through 100 merges with drunks.
