I am glad you took a chance thanks for taking me through your experiences going through finding a sorority group that fits you. I am happy you made your own decision in what or what you don't want to be in. Your choice should always be the one you feel right with. So proud of you for not giving into peer pressure or doing something that feels wrong to you.

I’m not sure what year you are and I wish I had seen this video before but I would highly encourage you (if you decide to go through formal fall recruitment next year) to at least attend bid day festivities and give the chapter a chance. Recruitment is, unfortunately, a superficial process. You only meet a small percentage of a chapter. I wrote a letter of rec for a friends daughter. Her top choice was Alpha Phi throughout recruitment with Sigma Kappa being her 3rd choice. On bid day she called me in tears as she received a bid to SK. I encouraged her to give them a chance but if she still wasn’t “feeling” the chapter the closer initiation got to not initiate (she was bound to the bid for a year, what did it hurt giving them a chance?) she agreed. A few weeks later she called me and thanked me for encouraging her because she absolutely loved Sigma and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. I’m not saying this is the case for everyone, but if you’re bound to something for a year why not try it out?

Hi. I had a similar experience when I went through recruitment in my 2nd year of university. I received a bid from a chapter that I didn't click with so I also declined it. I decided to do recruitment again in my 3rd year and got into my first choice that time.
