I’ve worn LG for decades. Swirl the brush in circles around the foundation to pick up all of the colors in the powder instead of dabbing the brush in. The colors are meant to be mixed together. I would refer to their website for better instructions.

I’m 73 and I use Laura Geller foundation and I love it. It doesn’t settle in my lines and lasts all day and I don’t use a powder over it. It like the shine it gives because my skin doesn’t look dry. Her colors do appear darker on the skin than in the compact. I like it too because when I travel I don’t have to take a lot of cosmetics with me.

Hello Diane! I actually did an update on her products, and I am now obsessed!! I have learned how to use the products and went back to her sight and purchased more!! I use her products daily when I'm not filming. You are absolutely right, perfect for travel. I took them with me on a recent trip to AZ and withstood that heat remarkably! I did the kit with Balance and Brighten in porcelain, came with the eyeshadow & brush and. I added a separate Balance and Glow and got a deal on the eyeshadow brush and another deal on a lipstick and liner. I use the eyeshadow as a blush too since I like those colors to match for a more natural look. I love that with the same products I can do a day and evening look depending on how I apply them.

I love doing the Balance and Brighten in a skin matching shade (porcelain) for a 'foundation' and use the Balance and Glow in a slightly darker shade (light) as a 'bronzer'. Then I use the eyeshadow that came with the kit as a blush too. I like using very light coverage on them and using a brown eyeliner and clear mascara for a no makeup look. I've always had trouble with make up congealing on my face throughout the day so I always ened up just using a tinted moisturizer, eye color and blush. This is literally the make up I've been waiting for my whole life!

I’m 63 years old and I love powder foundation. It’s important to not just sweep it over your skin, but to buff it into the skin. BareMinerals is meant to be buffed, because it is a powder to cream formula in the warmth of the buffing melds into the skin it looks so natural… as long as it’s built up a little bit at a time.

I've used laura for 12 years. I'm 49. I absolutely LOVE EVERYTHING in her line. I swear by her Balance and Brighten in the summer. Winter I use liquid foundation. I'm on the East Coast where it's humid. When I was in CA , TX & AZ my skin was the driest EVER and her Tinted Moisturizer worked best under the Balance and Brighten for fuller coverage . I use medium around the perimeter and fair in the center, tan to contour. I'm on line looking for reviews of her face palette. It's on sale. The highlight is great for under the eyes to set your concealer You're Beautiful!

You need to swipe the brush into the powder to pick up all of the colors. Also swipe the brush onto your skin or buff. Only dab it on the areas where you need more coverage.

I use Laura Geller products. I use a light weight liquid foundation then use porcelain illuminating And Fair balance brighten mixed together as a finishing powder and it makes my skin look awesome. Love the he blushed and use the Baked balance and bronzer. It’s more cool toned for my porcelain/fair skin toned. Once you continue to use it you will love it!!

I was searching for videos on the LG baked and brighten,and your video popped up. I had never seen your channel before, and I’m so glad I wandered upon it! I think these products look gorgeous on you! Seeing it on your skin, makes me want to try them out now, for sure! I just turned 56 not long ago, and my skin has changed some over the last five yrs or so. It’s always been normal to dry (more dry in winter), but now it’s gotten a bit sensitive sometimes. I’ve had some reactions on my skin,especially under or around my eyes, to wear they’ve been so itchy and swollen,that I could hardly open my eyes! I’m pretty sure it’s something in concealers! I can’t seem to pinpoint exactly what the ingredient/s are that’s causing it, as of yet. So I’ve even been going without makeup for sometime now, unless I have an event to go to. It’s made me so sad bc I love makeup soooo much, and I’m the kind of gal that has never liked to leave the house without something on my face! I even put makeup on when I was in labor with my 6th kiddo, before going to the hospital!😂 I hate not wearing makeup around my hubby n kids, but they all know what I’ve been going through. I’m trying to slowly see if I can weed out what’s causing my trouble. I went to Florida a few yrs ago with my hubby,2 of our sons, our daughter in-law and her twin sis. I used some new products and some of my regular things, and I seemed to be fine, but towards the end of our trip,I started gradually having a reaction everywhere I used concealer on my face, ie.. under my eyes, around the nose n mouth etc(I have olive toned skin so I’ve always had dark circles,even as a kid). The day we left to fly home, was the worst! Halfway home to MO when we switched planes, I had to buy some Benadryl to take bc my eyes and several places on my face, started to itch and swell!. I didn’t have any makeup remover cloths and there was no time to go in the bathroom to wash my face before taking off again! By the time we got home, my face was almost unrecognizable! It reminded of Will Smith in the movie Hitch!🤣(not quite that bad. Lol) I have been reading up and watching videos on ingredients in makeup that can cause allergic reactions on the skin. So I’m trying to start over with products fresh! I recently wore some Covergirl foundation (coincidently like the one you showed in this video) to our son’s house for a party the week after the 4th of July, and I didn’t have any reactions! I’ve always used waterproof mascara all the time bc of allergies and I’ve had a cornea transplant in each eye when I was young, and a surgery in each eye two yrs ago, so my eyes tend to water if something sets them off. But I recently learned that there’s ingredients in waterproof mascara that can cause allergic reactions. I tried a regular mascara and didn’t seem to have any problems with an allergic reaction. My eyes didn’t water that day, so idk how it will hold up if my eyes water. Lol! I guess that will be another journey for me. To find a non waterproof mascara that will hold up to watery eyes. Lol! Sometimes I wonder if the allergic reactions are from a single ingredient, or multiple ingredients. They mostly happen where I wear concealer and or powder over the concealer. I’ve tried so many concealers, that I’ve lost count. Lol! Not only bc of the allergy thing, but to find one that will cover my dark circles and that aren’t too cakey,drying, or that won’t settle into lines and creases I’m still on the hunt for a good one! If you have any concealer videos, I’m going to watch those for sure! 😁 It could also be something in the powders I’ve tried, or a combo of powder and concealer. There’s just so many scenarios that it’s been tough to pinpoint. Ughh! I first started to get a reaction around my eyes and places I used them about 7-8 yrs ago just once in a great while, and it wasn’t that bass of a reaction. But over the yrs it’s gotten gradual more often, until that Florida trip and then it was very often, and then it was every time I wore any makeup since the end of last yr, until recently. My skin has also been more on the dry n textured side,especially since having the reactions. I saw this LG foundation in an ad and decided to watch review videos about it, to see if I’d like to try her product. I know her line is supposed to be geared towards the over 40 skin, and is supposed to be a clean,cruelty free line. I watched this video and read the reviews that people wrote to you. I think I’m going to give these products a try and see how things go!🙏🏻🤞🏻 I am going to binge watch your videos now and see what your views are on products from other brands! 😁 It’s so hard to find ladies our age that have the same, or similar type of skin as I do, which can make all the difference when you’re trying to find products you want to try out. I really love how you review products! It’s great when people take the time to go over how they use products and the experience they’ve had using them. I like that you do all day wear tests, also. You have such a wonderful personality, and you seem like the kind of gal I know I’d be great friends with! Thank you so much for the time you put into your videos! My mother experienced something similar after she came back from the Bahamas. Thankfully, her reactions did go away, but she is super sensitive now to sunscreens, which makes this very complicated for her. I wish I had a good tip or solution for you. I truly do. I imagine you have hundreds on finding a solution. I also think you have already tried to just use your foundation under your eyes instead of concealer? I have found a lovely product by ole Henricksen, the banana stick, that really helps conceal the dark spots and has skincare benefits, but I don't want to stear you to purchase any more products than you already have. I can feel your frustration, especially being a makeup lover. I would be feeling the same as you if I was not able to wear the products I love. Your family sounds beautiful, loving you just the way you are. With or without makeup. I'm so happy you found me, took a chance, and clicked on my little channel. It’s tough letting our babies go!😢 I’m sorry to hear your mom has had some troubles with reactions! It’s so frustrating when you can pinpoint the culprit/culprits! I’ve tried just foundation under my eyes with no concealers. I’ve tried so many different ways of doing things. I honestly think it must be a certain ingredient/ingredients that might be in makeup. Bc I’ve had troubles off and on even changing everything I’ve used! Ughh! It could be in mascara, eyeshadows, setting powder, concealer or foundation, or even all of them. I have learned that since our skin of course, on and around the eyes is the most sensitive on our bodies, that even though we might tolerate a product somewhere else on our face, that the eye area might not be so forgiving. I’ve recently been trying to use a setting stay under the eyes instead of powder. I’m going days in between makeup right now and starting back into makeup adding things very slowly and trying to keep track of things that might give me any problems, so that I can look at the ingredients in them and maybe narrow down the common denominator in them,that way. 🤞🏻 You were so meant to do this kind of thing! I’ve often thought about starting a channel, but don’t have the guts to (or the money to right now) 😂 I just find out that you are also on Instagram, so I’ll be popping in there to keep up with you also! Hi there I'm new to your channel and I also just ordered from QVC their Today's Special Value which included the powder foundation the blush the hydrating primer and a lip oil. I just ordered the Kabuki brush from Amazon because I don't really have a brush that's going to work for it so I'm not quite sure yet if I'm going to like it or not but I'm going to wait for the brush and give it a good go. I'm 62 and my skin is in pretty good condition but I do have some texture and I definitely don't like to accentuate that. Laura Geller has a liquid foundation called Double Take. It’s a good one. Thin, but good coverage. Also a serum blush cheek tint that’s nice. I love the blush and bronzer (fair is my perfect pink toned bronzer for my cool toned skin). I usually prefer creams but baked formulas start as creams then they’re baked for 24 hrs, so they’re powders but apply on liquids/creams beautifully so I don’t have to set my face with powder, which is what I prefer. Laura Geller makes the best baked products!

@@LauraFagelman Double Take comes in a nice glass bottle and has a huge doe foot applicator, which is always weird to me with a foundation 😂 But I don’t mind it. It is pretty thin and liquidy and blends into the skin really easy but gives nice medium coverage for me with 1 thin layer, and I can get fuller coverage over my sun spots with another thin layer without it looking heavy or cakey. I dry skin but oily in t zone and for me it looks nice on the skin - super lightweight, feels like nothing on the skin. Doesn’t look dry or cakey even in my drier areas. The product info said it was a matte finish but to me it leans more like a natural finish - not fully matte looking, not dry looking. But, I do prep my skin like I would for anything that says it has a matte finish (hydrating primer all over and gripping primer in my t zone where I get more oily because nothing ever wants to go on my nose right unless I use a gripping primer on it lol). I don’t have to set it either and it lasts really well. I got it back in February and have been using it a lot ever since, especially over the summer and it’s been wearing well for summer too!

Hi, I have dry skin ss well. I apply the foundation with a powder puff. It goes on smoothly and evenly. I don't use it under my eyes. I use a concealer and the Hourglass mineral veil setting powder for that area.

Hello!! I'm so excited you are here!! I absolutely love LG products, and I actually have a part 2 on her products and how I've changed how to use them. I also have a playlist of my skincare, but I would look more into my current ones. My skin has definitely been a journey and process. I, too, had a lot of sun damage, and with consistency and patience, it's come a long way. I went through a lot of phases, like sometimes it seemed things got worse before they got better, but I continued and one day, it all just came together. I would look into timesless Vitamin C for sure. I feel it's the best on the market. I also did curology for a couple years and I think that helped tremendously, but I have discontinued using that only because, I feel my skin is at the point of not needed such potent products. My undereyes are actually my challenge. They have hollowed out as well. In my recent videos, I share the products and the thought process of why I use them as I do. I hope this helps and will be doing an updated skincare video very soon. XOXOXO 😘

For powder foundations try buffing instead of tapping, it will sort of melt into the skin. I heard some of the baked foundation could run a bit on the dark side for some .

Because at my age moisturizing foundations or foundations with serums are recommended! I am dry ... and not just from age (although I am there as well 😂🤣😂) I have always had dry skin. But I am curious if it made you FEEL dry / parched at the end of the day? I have been using them daily!! I even just took them to Arizona on a recent trip, where the air is super dry and loved them just the same! I honestly can say they have quickly become some of my favorite makeup. I like wearing a skin tint under the baked foundations for a little more coverage and a boost of hydration, not that they need it, just a personal preference. I've used Laura Gellar Baked Foundation for years. I'm 52 so I use it a little different now. I use it over a liquid foundation as a finishing powder with a large fluffy brush. The primer is not a favorite of mine. I prefer Hard Candy Hydrating Primer with it.

One thing I have noticed about Laura Geller is that she has an especially well developed sense of color. Does is sound ridiculous to make a color that can be used by everyone? Laura Geller understands color well enough to do it. For example, 10 or 15 years ago she sold a universal brown eyeshadow. It worked with rose shades and was just as pretty with earth colors. I used it with everything, until it was gone. There is little risk in trying her products. 3 generations in my family use her products long term.

I love the Laura Gellar makeup but I definitely wouldn’t get anything that says illuminating. I get the matte version. I’m 51 and I don’t want anything glowy on my face. It looked absolutely beautiful on you!! I don’t wear the illuminating products because it makes my pores look huge but you have zero pores. I think you look stunning. The only thing I don’t really care for is the Laura Gellar highlighter. I got one and it doesn’t show up at all. Maybe I need to look at it in natural light? I feel totally the same as you on the Illuminating powder, but now I mix it with the matte one and it's perfect!! I felt like the Illuminating one accentuated my texture and pores, and yes, I definitely have pores 😉 but I love my skin to have a glow or radiance. I think because my skin is so dry. Hi you aren’t supposed to stipple powder makeup. You put on a good full layer on the brush and brush it on for coverage. I’m 64 with oily skin and large pores and have been using that foundation for years. Don’t be skimpy with it. You would love it

It is very glowy but will pretty it if applied in the right places. I'm glad I got both, or I would have looked like the tin man 🤣🤣🤣

I don’t like the balance n glow, it just made me glow too much. I prefer the general balance n brighten it must better and not glowed. Balance and bronze is good in summer!

@@LauraFagelman mine is baked balance and brighten. I also have the double take baked versatile powder foundation. Definitely matte finish

You need to swirl the brush in the products and gently brush on your face. Use their concealer over the foundation, by just blending it into the foundation. Then use the blush powder the same way as the foundation. I use Laura Geller and I'm 77 years old...it is the best! Do a little bit more research and watch a few videos of Laura herself doing her face. It's super simple.
