Let me say from my heart I am so grateful to you for showing the Laura Geller foundation. When I’m having a regular day mostly at home and so I can feel good about myself, Laura Geller and I get along well; and she saves me a lot of time. This comparison in today’s video has been done beautifully. You are your own best critic and you point it all out. You do look good wearing both. I should stop but I want to mention a product that I have: bareMinerals barePro. It’s a pressed powder foundation. I was surprised to see Gemma of Pampered Wolf use it months ago. I got mine at Costco at least 10 years ago. I don’t use it as a foundation. By taking a small brush, I can erase spots or any kind of blemishes. It doesn’t cover some bruises, but it makes them less noticeable. I use it on scars. I didn’t use foundation and didn’t know how, until I watched KZbin during lockdown and the influencers got me. The Laura Geller feels like nothing on. I don’t know how long it will last, but I think it’s a bargain. I love your videos. Much success to y’all in the south of France.

I’m 73 & did a full switch to all Laura Geller products. I first tried the Foundation Baked Balance Brighten-Glow in Fair. I’m heavy handed & tried to mess it up as a test. I couldn’t, on my eyelids, under eyes, applied heavily but it still looked gorgeous. No creasing, no caking. I have broken capillaries, age spots, & melasma. I don’t wear eyeliner or shadows. I just want to even out my skin, reduce discolorations. I love her products & the fact her models are 40+. I apply powders much easier than creams. I don’t wear a lot of makeup but I use her tinted primer-rose, bronze; Concealer; baked Blush; baked Bronzer; Mascara; Brow Pencil. I use the concealer on my eyelids to hide the blue veins then follow with the Baked Foundation using an eye shadow brush. I get the results I want-smoother, clearer looking skin. I’ve used a variety of brands, LG products are like luxury to me & very very affordable. Sales always happening. Enjoyed your channel! USA Georgia

Immediately on application the BM had a lovely glow and the LG looked orange and dry. By the end they looked more or less the same. I don’t like any products with talc. I have worn BM since my 30s the same foundation because it only has 5 ingredients. I am now 59. I have tried many other foundations to see if they are better than BM but always go back to BM original. I like how I can do a quick sheer coverage with a fluffier brush and a heavier application for a night out with a denser brush. I also use it as my under eye concealer using the kitten paw Angie brush in a lighter shade and it’s excellent, smooth and no settling. I am in Florida and all make up melts!! With BM I use IT cosmetics bye bye pores powder lightly and charlotte Tilbury setting spray and can get through a day at Disney and it holds up really well. Also it looks great in photos even with a flash.I have oily centre and normal/dry cheeks and very dry eyelids so will be interested to try the eye base you mentioned. FYI I bought Jane iredale eyeshadow trio and it will not blend out and it irritated my eyelids. Great comparison video as I’d been wondering about the balance and brighten but after the comparison I’m sticking with BM.

I am so surprised at how good the powder foundations are on mature skin - I did try a couple in 2022, one was a Max Factor and one was the KVD Good Apple, and they were quite good but these are excellent on mature skin. As you say, quick coverage with fluffy brush and you're good to go!

What a great video! I have to say that I’m a bit biased because I absolutely love bare minerals, I have been using it for many years now, I love how you can just swipe it over your face for a very natural look or buff in more powder for a fuller coverage, I also love the fact that it does not transfer onto clothes. I know it seems a little pricey but I wear it practically every day and it lasts for months so actually quite economical. I think I tried Laura geller years ago and wasn’t impressed, so I’ll definitely be sticking with bare minerals I think. Btw I’m 62 with fairly good skin 😊

Hi Dez! I was so looking forward to this video!! I used to wear Bare Minerals years ago and really liked it. Does anyone else remember all the infomercials with Bare Minerals back in the day? That’s what got me to try it. I have to say, I thought it looked really nice on your skin. Both sides, with the close ups showed just a beautiful glow! I got a makeover at Ulta years ago with Bare Minerals and had an immediate allergic reaction. My face felt as though it was on fire, had to take it off immediately. I know many people love Bare Minerals but there's something in it that my skin doesn't like. I've never had a problem with Laura Geller - in fact it's my favorite foundation.

Another great video Dez. I’ve used both Laura Gella and BareMinerals. I find the BM gives me a much more natural finish and the colour range is great. I’m disappointed there’s talc in the LG, for me it gives a dry powdery finish and I also think the colour range is poor, they’re all too yellowish on my skin.

I used to use Bare Minerals all the time in the mid 1990's for over 10 years and I loved it. But as I got into my 50's It didn't perform as well. But I still use it on holiday when it's hot because it's so light and doesn't streak or rub off, even in water. I find Laura Gellar is more powdery than it used to be then when Laura owned the company so I don't use it now.

Hello! I've just received my Laura Geller foundation as I was inspired by your videos. It's early days but so far I'm really impressed! I've tried it with primer (RMS Beauty) and without as I had Coco and Eve SPF on and couldn't face another layer of gunk. I must admit it seems more patchy over time without a primer but I've only tried it twice so I really can't tell as yet. Many many thanks!!

I'm going back to Lisa Eldridge as a staple. Btw, I made reference in the comments of one of your other brilliant vidoes about the RMS hydra powder blush and how much easier it is to apply using Caroline Barnes make up brush. Well, please ignore the comment as the blush remains an absolute pain the apply and- no matter how hard I try, I just look like Aunt Sally. I bought 2 as well!! Now that WAS a waste. I've recently dived into bareMinerals - for a couple of reasons - firstly it doesn't contain talc and secondly because following skin cancer surgery on my face it seems to have a soothing effect on my scar (healed but still very sore) They claim it does have a positive skin "healing" quality. I think the buffing is the most important part of this product (according to baremineral KZbinrs) to get the coverage right (it's not always covered my rosacea which happened after surgery) Enjoyed your test video though - poweder foundation hadn't entered my head until recently, so great to have a mature woman, as am I, doing a tutorial - thank you

Dez, you are so cute! I am a new subscriber and I really enjoy your videos! I am 61 and looking for a new foundation. Like you, I too, about 25 years ago tried Bare Minerals foundation, etc., and when I got outside, I was simply horrified at how hideous it looked on me! Now mind you, all products I purchased were selected FOR me in person by a Bare Minerals sales person who showed me how to apply it. It cost a small fortune back then, but needless to say, I returned all of it, lol! I have now matured (emotionally and physically, lol!) and my skin tends more towards dry than combination. I have been watching Laura Geller KZbin vids for a week trying to decide if I dare try it, lol. I am likely going to and fingers crossed I get good results as you have in your recent videos. So, about your test today; the Bare Minerals product clearly has come a loooong way! I thought it looked quite good, but then at the 4 hour check in, it starts to fade, or the blush started to. By the 8 or 10th hour(?) the fade seemed more noticeable. You actually did seem to have a very tiny bit of foundation around the nose, but from both brands. I feel the LG actually held up and had more staying power than the Bare Minerals. The BM gave your skin slightly more than a "dewy" look. All in all that was a good comparison and again, Bare Minerals has greatly improved, but I think the LG just performed much better over all. Either way, you looked beautiful! 😁

Hello!!! As I previously commented …I have used Laura’s products for years now and love love love everything baked that she makes! As for eyeshadow primer, I have used Milani eye primer for YEARS! I would never even consider ever using another brand of eye primer…yes it is that good! Have you tried any of Laura’s baked eyeshadows? Or highlighters? Or blushes? Before you use a liquid concealer with powder foundation, you should put the concealer on first and the lorry. Geller works better with a tap in motion.

I LOVE both of them. I wear BareMinerals in the winter when my skin is really dry and LG in the summer when Im a bit oilier. I would suggest putting your concealer on BEFORE the foundations. I have a LOT of texture and both of these are beautiful on the skin. I do highly recommend Laura's primer called Spackle. I wear that ever day!

I’m 69 and use a light sheer liquid foundation. I switched from bare minerals a few years ago because the powder seem to magnify pores and wrinkles. Blending is really important too! It also can be quite messy! Love the eye shadows and blush too! Brushes are wonderful! Never tried LG.

I did try Bare Minerals a few years ago - Swirl, Tap, Buff, but I didn't like it as well as the Laura Geller (back when QVC was the only place you could get both). On camera it appeared that you used far less concealer on the Bare Minerals side, so that maybe why it looks a little better. Have you tried putting some concealer on the back of your hand, swirling your brush into it, and then applying? This was a new method to me, and works really well. Do you have the new Lisa Eldrige concealer amongst your ones to try? I'll be interested to see if it's better than the Saie. I have tried the Milani eye primer - it was Ok but I really don't find that I need one.

Swirl, yes, not swil!!! I haven't tried that concealer method, but I will now. And yes the Lisas have just arrived, but they are not really for undereyes, as I understand it, more for pinpoint concealing of blemishes and the like. I don't have the Saie but have heard good things about it. I may have to take them all to France with me next week at this rate 😊❤️

Hi Dez, loved this vid and I must say I’m moving closer to retrying the Laura Geller balance and brighten. Despite it not being the glow formulation your cheek looked very glowy and lovely in this comparison though I have to say the bare Minerals side looked good too. The price on that puts me off though! I flit between TirTir cushion foundation in Sand and an Avon calming effects powder foundation in Ivory (which despite its name isn’t very light in colour thankfully) not sure if Avon still do it anymore but I’d stockpiled it and I like it on days where my skin has a good texture. Sure they must do something similar nowadays. Anyway just thought I’d leave a little comment that I really love your vids; you have such a lovely way about you and I value your opinion. Hope I’m not being patronising when I say you come across as a lovely mum to us watchers, well me anyway, though I’m 57 and you’re hardly old enough to be my mum! My vote is for Bare Minerals...I think the finish is slightly better and I personally prefer a product that I don't have to order online. I'm old school and love being able to go into the shops and compare things. I live in Canada so our shops are plentiful and well stocked. Also, I think it's possible that when you were applying the bare minerals, you weren't sure how much powder you were putting on...perhaps more than you think and perhaps that's why, on you, it looked more powdery (not on me!!) I'm 72 and love your channel.

I hope it works for you. I absolutely love it myself , and I’ve tried so many concealers. I agree they’re the trickiest part of make up. What I do is I dampen my finger with urban decay setting spray and then pat on the concealer until it looks like it has disappeared. Don’t use fixing spray. Totally different product to setting spray. I suppose any setting spray will work for you and I know you need a non fragrance one. I also use the setting spray on my face and on the brush BEFORE I apply foundation. That way , never looks cakey.

I really don’t love the Laura Geller balance and glow. I don’t know if it’s the shade. I don’t notice much if any difference between that and the balance and brighten. I think I prefer Bare Minerals, but I don’t love that as much as I used to.
