I have started to think of it more like. "You don't have up to date trains researched" not no trains at all. Similar to artillery as if they don't know what cannons are. Your point still stands though as Mexico has a long history of using trains in warfare.

There is a massive difference between owning a train versus an understanding of them alongside having the facilities to produce them domestically.

I tend to like playthroughs like this because I find it far more fun playing as smaller nations doodling around rather than having to overly micromanage the larger ones.

Tibbs! You inspired me to play an naval game a bit. So after long thought I decided I want some snadiNAVYan action. First I landed on Sweden-Centrelized Nordic Council for building Njordius! Bruh. Hella fun idea. But you are democratic and efing Finland cannot give 2 civs to Soviets to build up and get revenge on Soviets. So you are in war since 1939 and navy quickly becomes not your priority. Especially if we take into consideration Denmark situation *gulp* So I decided to look for all trees and decided to try out Denmark-Monarch. Hell of a blast! Bro try it! You can set up Den-Now-Swea-Fin alliance pretty quick with 3 Lith-Lat-Est pupets, dig in and play Navy battles. So much fun!

i think a fun game could be playing some minor ww2 power (think the hungarians) except you try and get rockets, nukes, etc. dunno how possible it is but it sounds like it could be fun doing a plane focused support game instead of navy or army where you steamroll
