Thing is, other manufacturers saw the economy heading up and started releasing cars for enthusiasts again. Even Toyota who for many years only had the Corolla S which is just a body kit. Nissan sat on their thumbs and dug their heels into the crossover market while people, with cash in hand, were begging them to produce something for the enthusiasts. Remember the Nissan 510 concept cars that got so much hype? They were so close to getting green lit but instead they released a goddamn convertible hatchback! Meanwhile, Toyota, Subaru and Hyundai sold a bunch of their budget rwd coupes in the same market Nissan said wasn't viable anymore. I really hope the rumor that a base model 4cylnder Z is true. As long as a Manual transmission is offered, I wouldn't mind paying less for a cool car today with engine swap options for the future.

I think what made them successful in the 90’s/early 2000’s was exactly “having a fun car for every price level”. Bring back the S-chassis to compete with the BRZ, update the Z-chassis to compete with pony cars and the supra, and keep the R35 GTR as it’s just so iconic. Also, Nissans are starting to look better with the latest designs, but a lot of the models from the past decade where... ugly. Affordability certainly should be a part of their formula - but don’t let it be your only selling point because then everyone sees the brand as junk.

I think moving up the GT-R name to more of a supercar/hypercar class and then move the Z to the GT-R's class. The S-chassis would be facing against the BRZ/GT86 Also I used to be a GT-R fanboy here so don't flame me yet but personally a slightly affordable mid engined GT-R is a good idea. I'm here on the ground in Japan with a new e-power note and I'll say there's not much they can do to compete in a lot of areas. The electric drive train is probably the one area they have a slight advantage. I'd love to see a new 400z but I think they should put more into their gasoline powered electrics. Perhaps a competitor to the Honda Civic. Something that can switch modes from economical to sports mode easily. It would just sell more.

Well James if you're interested I'm coming up with the design for a 240 I just haven't decided if I want it to be a 4-cylinder a 6 cylinder or an 8-cylinder but all I know is it's going to be twin turbo with a internal roll cage 6 speed manual transmission all wheel disc brakes and dual coilover suspension in the rear so a total of 6 coilovers 3 for each side of the car biggest issue for me is just getting my hands on a welder so that way I can make the tube frame chassis

For exaple my father and his gf prefer automatic and some of my friends want to learn to drive automatic cars only (it safes a little time learning to drive but your not allowed to drive manual). You're partially right that prosecutors tend to go for people they think they will convict BUT Japan's justice system is incredibly broken to the point where there are human right's activists against it. You know how in the US and other countries, the police can hold you and interrogate you for up to 48 hours unless they find evidence to keep you longer? You've probably seen this in crime series and movies. Well, in Japan, that's 23 days that can repeat multiple times and turn into months if they just keep filing new charges. They then effectively use that near infinite time, intense interrogations, restricting meals and contact with family to effectively force false confessions out of people. You can read about this if you Google for "Japan's substitute prison" or "Daiyō kangoku". This is one of the reasons they have such high conviction rates. Not just because prosecutors go after people they believe they can convict, but because they effectively can't take an L and instead force confessions out of people they've arrested or highly suspect, even without evidence. So I wouldn't at all be surprised if what this guy is saying is true. Of course, I also wouldn't be surprised if he did do some shady shit. But at this point, I'm more inclined to believe him even though I didn't know about him or this case until 2 minutes ago. The Japanese justice system is fucked up yo. If you ever go there to visit, don't even think about misbehaving or getting drunk and doing something even remotely wrong, you could be fucked for life. There are some real horror stories I know about from people visiting or emigrating to Japan.

Nissan blew it again. They should realize what worked and made them famous, that was their straight 6 engines! They should have used the RB twin cam straight 6. The single overhead cam straight 6 used in the 240Z's would run 250,000+ miles and were very powerful lots of potential to modify and the RB's took it to the next level and today are in the top 3 for desired engines for tuners and swaps next to the GM LS V8's, theToyota JZ twin cam straight 6. This will be just like the 350Z a mild short term thing that never accomplishes the desired brand boost that they need. They need to scrap the V6 and go back to their roots.

I think sentras need some attention, the B13 had "SE-R" with a SR20. B14 had the 200SX Sentra. B15 had "SE-R/SPEC V". B16 had "SE-R/SPEC V". B17 had the "NISMO" treatment, but the B18 sentra doesn't have any sporty trims, just the "SR" which isn't sporty but it's the highest trim.
