I'd love to see you duplicate any piece of furniture you restore. Using the same or different wood. *Then at a museum, place1 both pieces side by side and ask the museum visitors if they can pick the duplicate?

Maybe the school had a banquet hall for special occasions. My old school had one that was amazing, not quite sure how old it was but looking back I'd say just before or after WWI, very modern at that time, yet luxurious. The building is older, 1880s or 1890s I think.

Gorgeous! Must have been a really posh school to have chairs like that... Big difference to the iron-framed, built-in, two-seater, Victorian bench-seats we were still polishing with our backsides as late as 1968!

I watch A LOT of restoration, craftsman, upholstery videos and you are by far the best. I am so disappointed you do not have over a million viewers. Something needs to be done to get you more viewers. Obviously they do not know what they are missing out on. My father built specialty wood toys and children’s furniture (rocking horses/chairs, big wooden trucks that actually dumped or picked up things-almost all organic materials. I remember spending days in his shop watching him labor over one piece of a toy until it was perfect. You remind me a lot of him. He spent a year (on and off) in Estonia when the USSR first dissolved a lot of his design and art work was influenced by his time there.

My father made wooden toys, not his profession, but he was very good at it. London Bus (the big red ones), forts, he even made me a string puppet, which I have still got, all hand carved and painted, dressed by my mother. I love the way AT uses the wood and other details to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

I’m amazed they made chairs with that much detail on the back, in enough numbers to fill a school. It’s really quite beautiful. And if the faux leather was more expensive than real leather, that was one more added element. Chairs were much more plain in the school I went to lol. You did a great job with this one… as always. Redoing the arm 6 times to get it just right is why we all watch your channel.❤️🐝🤗

"Fill a school"? Who said that? This one chair that you know of could've been for a teacher, or in the library, or there could've been only a few of them. Don't hate me. I like to nitpick at what people make up without enough info, which I'm guessing you don't have. 😉✌🐕

My great-grandfather made and restored a lot of furniture. He once said that he absolutely hated the newer polyethylene finishes and wouldn't even have them in his shop. To this day a mere whiff of denatured alcohol and shellac takes me back to those days. Wonderful job of restoring this fine old chair. Love your channel.

Anti, I have been watching you for a couple of years now, and I just watched your interview with the TV station. I can tell you, without a doubt, that yes, it IS worth watching your videos! Yes, you are worth all the kind comments. 😊 You have taught me SO many new techniques to repair a piece of furniture, and your videos are never boring. You show the important skills, and skip the six hours of sanding, which we all know you do off camera. There is one other KZbinr that I watch (in Canada) that rivals you skill, but she does not do quite as many major repairs. She is more of a refinishing expert, with mad wood skills. I imagine you both could have discussions about things you love and hate about woodworking! Thank you for sharing your talents with the world!
