To be really honest...I think the videos on More Hannah and selfies on the podcast insta are going well and better than others because they support people having a parasocial relationship with you. And I'm not even gonna exclude myself from those people I love seeing what's going on in your life! 😂

@@anawsomehuman3064 I think its exactly this! The main channel/ podcast feels more like following a business, it feels at least pretty hands off/ impersonal (most of the time) which definitely has its place and is probably arguably better. but I think it then makes it hard to get the strong fans/patrons because its not as engaging long term as following someone for their personality or life, it makes for more casual viewing than getting to like someone and wanting to support them. I think the change seems necessary for the changes in life (ie becoming a parent) but it probably isn’t what is going to keep long term viewers. (Coming from me and my thoughts- no idea about running a business like this just a long term viewer)

I think More Hannah is doing so well because you have got to the point where people are interested in you, as well as the topics you discuss (plus the content is so entertaining) ✨I've actually clocked recently that your videos talking about being pregnant (especially with a stoma) and life as a mum are getting the most views, because people want to hear your experience. I watch your videos talking about your day to day as a mummy and I'm not remotely interested in being a mum yet haha. Maybe there is a way of bringing that more to the main channel ❤

I'm not the type of person to make any long term plans (even midterm is hard), and I find crazy that people know what they would want to happen for the next 5 years, so this video has kind of comforted me in this opinion 😅 But everyone does what helps them get on with life 😊

I tend to muddle along cheerfully taking life in manageable bite sized chunks. My five year plans involve things like sort out the shed, get round to painting the kitchen cupboards. Thinking too far ahead can lead to guilt and anxiety because life tends not to go to plan.

I think a 1 year plan is a much more reasonable view of upcoming things in your life. Often times a 5 year plan is more of a vision board to capture where you are when you make it, which could guide you, but isn't meant to be totally fixed in place unless you're very determined to make it so. I don't really have solid 5 year plans but I do have fixed goals I want to achieve in the future and so I try to guide my annual plans in that way, especially if they're financial or career goals.

I really appreciate the outro of this video acknowledging that 5-year plans or even 5-month plans are so hard. I had a child in 2017 and was able to continue doing that, then another child in early 2020 and it became an impossible feeling, not knowing what the next month would look like let alone 5 years. This COVID parenting life is so much more than any of us could have imagined. Great video. Thank you!

My 5 year plan fell to shit a couple of months ago (even though it was vague)! I thought I'd met 'the one' and after two years he just broke up with me out of the blue. So this week I have started a new job, am house hunting, considering starting therapy, started ballet again, started in a choir and am generally trying to keep myself alive! I'm working off more of a 5 minute plan at the moment 😂 But at least it's a fresh start!

I was talking to a friend who has a 10 month old and she was just saying that she just does not care either, like yourself. Like if we look at the hierarchy of needs, she's just happily at the bottom, surviving and caring for her child and that's totally good enough! Other things in life just seem less important and she's cool with it. But it's pretty nice to hear that some folk out there don't require self actualisation and just love the simple kiddo life! ♡

Kids, moving, settling down is all now on my horizon compared to even two years ago and I can’t tell if I’m scared or excited but all I know is I’m trying to throw myself into now and managing these things like my new house and doing that up bit by bit.

Love this video! On the point about difficulty making a plan right now. When my baby was around 18m- 2yo I felt I was out of the 'headlights' and could actually imagine life beyond the end of my nose. Something about that time made me able to feel able to surf the waves of chaos, while also imagining what life might be like in the future. I am also self-employed and felt I could start really setting goals for myself again (including feeling ready for Baby 2). Now I'm 8months pregnant with Baby 2 I know it's about to go out the window, but I have the wonderfully reassuring knowledge that it does get 'easier' and I will be able to dream again :)

The exercising with babies thing is tough! I have only just started to prioritise it after baby 2. I think I realised any opportunity you have to do it you need to go for it because you may never know when you get the chance again. I don't know what's wrong with me but once I graduated, got a job I liked and moved out of my parents I have had no goals. No plans. Nothing to work towards. I've always found the idea of a five year plan baffling because I fundamentally don't know where I want to go. But also like I'm not bothered about not knowing where I want to go? But I do think it's fun to look back on what I thought would happen. I have this diary that I started when I was like 12. I talked about about what I was worried about/going through and asked my future self questions. Then at some point I rediscovered it and answered those questions and repeated the process. It's been really interesting to do for the last 20 years. That's the closest I get to planning.

Honestly since the pandemic, any notions of plans I had for anything have kind of gone out the window! My career plans have taken somewhat of a detour, which is massively frustrating because I feel so far behind where I hoped I would be by now i.e. still in a stop-gap job whilst I try and figure out how to get on the career ladder I actually want. So I'm less making plans now and more just taking things as they come!

Plan A is to get disability aid (I'm being evaluated as we speak), apply to the employment agency (I did that just last week) and apply for unemployment aid (that's the next step). Plan B is basically for if all of this falls through, then I'll report my disabilities to my insurance company and hope for a hefty sum that will keep me floating for another year or so (so I can go back and work on plan A). This did inspire me to make a 5 year plan, however I can’t really imagine my life in 5 years time so it’s mainly a this year and next year plan! I’m hoping to be living in a home that I own, married to my partner, and having a baby in 5 years time, but what with the cost of living crisis, the state of the housing market, and our earnings being so low at the moment I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to afford those things :(

I never do resolutions. Sometimes i zjink of things i should/want to do and then i just do them. But I also have the issue of not really sticking through with it, so much so that i feel like i might actually have adhd 😅

I had a vague 5 year plan when I was in uni then chronic illness hits so I scraped it off. Might make a new one now even tho a lot of big milestones have already happened since.

Do you think after you’ve done the ‘big stuff’ that’s more conventional, you struggle to make a 5 year/long term plan? I have found since I got married and had a baby, I don’t know what I’m going to do next? I feel like I ticked off those ‘big’ things that take a few years and now my baby is my priority and I’ve lost my autonomy and motivation to do things for me. Wouldn’t change it for the world, but does feel like I’m flailing around slightly not knowing what’s next!

Can you get a desk bike or treadmill? So you can do it concurrently rather than having to carve out more time?

I have a list of things I want to do when I'm done with studying and get a full time job. Patreons of cool projects like this are pretty high on that list. So, hang on, I'm on my way :D

I've just not been finding the content on the main channel to be relevant in my life at the moment. But i recently had my first smear and support material on that would have been super helpful ! Maybe theres more on the podcast for sexual health but ive not seen it on Instagram...

I have never made a 5 year plan but I am finding my life is stagnating a lot since I have achieved the big life milestones that I wanted to achieve (house, wedding). The stagnation is causing me a lot of anxiety so maybe it would benefit me to make some plans

I think I could get something out of the format for an annual plan you showed. But a five year plan is too difficult at the moment. So many things are up in the air and while I have ideas for how I want each one of them to turn out I can't image how they will interact with each other. Maybe I'm just saying that because hardly anything turned out like I thought from my plan three and a half years ago: some stuff was so much worse and some things are better than I ever thought they would be.

when the 300 is a stupid number and then there's me with maxed out watch later and like other 4 folders just under different names because there is a limit for 5000 videos in the folder and that's not including thematic folders for the different subjects I'm interested in 🙃

I loved Pleasure Trove! But, parenthood often means dropping out of culture for a few years. Someday you will dip back in. Everyone is on their own schedule with that.
