You may want to have a window in the glass wall! When it gets hot and humid you will need a air flow to cool down and help with controlling the humidity inside the house. Probably you will need a window in the loft area and on the main floor. I live in Hawaii at the beginning of the rain forest where it rains almost every day. So to be able to open windows is so important for my comfort and keeping the humidity at bay.
@nancymccoy96842 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I was going to suggest! You will want air flow and whether it's louver vents that you've got somewhere or one of the windows open you will needs some sort air flow. By the way you do an awesome job! I've been building for 3 years and I will be done with my house and about a month!!!!!

Yep agree, big time Rodrigo you will need cross breeze or you will be kicking your self and use a lot of Aircon but humidity is the worst

Yes i think he should it would make nice gor fresh air through his home
@rebeccagaudette13132 жыл бұрын
Was going to say the same thing about having a window on the opposite end for airflow. Hugely important when you live in a damp area. You will need for the heat, humidity, air freshness. If you don’t you will wind up with a moldy home, that is stuffy, & smells bad. Might also consider putting a vent into the roof of your loft to help as well. Heat rises & will need an outlet or sleeping is going to be miserable.

Maybe your cow needs some grain also. She/He is very thin. Have you wormed the cow yet? She/He does not look healthy. Hope you and the crew stay safe while building your home. Rodman we are both wearing a dark green hoodie today...God bless you bro!
@mothermedicinemusic2 жыл бұрын
Yes you need to plan for open and close windows on both sides, humidity and heat where you can allow the breeze to come through, let the heat escape as heat rises- I live in Florida and it is most necessary. I would suggest at the top if you could build a window that opens out from the bottom to let the heat out when you need it and still have protection from rain. Much love and so proud of you - Nana Kelli in Florida

You are amazing Rodrigo. On the stairs...what if you build the platform, where the stairs turn, first. From there build the lower steps to the platform (or landing). Then build the upper stairs from the platform (landing) to the loft. Stairs are tricky! Most people dont get it right the first time with the exceptions of those experts. Im sure that by the time you see this you will have the problem solved!

After you get done, do you think you might want to put another balcony on the outside wall with a door opening from your room? Maybe some French doors? I am not any kind of carpenter or anything but, my mother told me that idea. She’s not an engineer or anything but sometimes she has some good ideas.

I remind you to build the house as if you are already 85 years old. Take care of the old you while you are doing this so that you won't have to make major adjustments later when you are no longer able to.

Cheer up about the stairs my friend! The old saying, 'Measure twice, cut once,” does not apply to stair building. It is measure twice, do it again, then recheck your plans, measure again, then use a piece of scrap to make a test piece. Try the test piece only to find out that it is wrong too. Start over. Even old farts like me, who have built many stair systems, still can and do make mistakes. Go for it!

Your cow looks ike it needs more nutrition than grass. It doesn't have much hair on it and you might want to look into providing minerals for it in a mineral block and a salt block or a tray with the needed minerals for a healthy life.

You may need a landing at the transition from the lower stairs to the upper stairs at the left turn, it could be square but it will make the turn easier to build, it will require that the lower stairs move away from the upper stairs by the width of the landing but much easier to build

Have you come up with a final design for your stairs?? I really hope so. It's worth taking your time on because once built you have to live with them. Make them really safe to walk on and carry things up and down with...beds, laundry, etc. If you can split it with one or two landings so that if anything happens and you slip going down then you don't fall for the whole height of the staircase. Also this gives you lots of capability for building in different storage options under certain parts of the stairs' (but not necessarily all of them) Hope that makes sense!! keep up the good work of looking after the farm!! 😁

Start with a pole high enough for your turn. Marke where your turn , for the steps will be turning 3 , 4 steps, go up and down from that point. Unless you're doing a platform to the second set of steps. Still measure the height of platform and start there. Up and down from platform. Good luck
