Foam is basically solid fuel, it caused the Station Nightclub fire and many more. Rockwool is inherently fire proof, is designed sonic absorption and does not off-gas or irritate. If you're going to keep the foam, invest in fire suppression. Also, your ceiling and floor are still causing a flutter reverb.
@AnthonyOngaro8 ай бұрын
Happy to see this, I was immediately concerned about the fire rating/flammability of that material.
@NiftyyR66 ай бұрын
So you are saying this. "Foam is highly flammable.... Also, add more."

I work in R&D for a foam manufacturer. This is alarmingly unsafe. While some polyurethane foams (and non-PU foams) can be made with certain additives or receive post-processing treatments that make them flame resistant/fire resistant not even those specialty products are intended for anything remotely close to this type of application. Completely covering the walls of a room with uncovered craft/upholstery foam, especially putting electrical lights all over the foam, is an accident waiting to happen. One your insurance company probably won’t cover btw. I’m not sure if it’s even feasible to put a fire suppression system in a room like this that would make having this much exposed foam safe. I understand why this seems like a fun idea, but it’s wildly dangerous and also a fire hazard to any nearby dwellings. It’s simply not worth it.

Pro Tip for next time: Glue the foam to chicken wire, on a lightweight frame, then hang the frame from the ceiling about 1 inch away from the wall. You want that dead air between wall and foam to further cancel out the sound waves that get through the foam.

That passage in a project where it is half way done and you still don't know if it's gonna be totally briliant or a complete train wreck - I so know how that feels... And all the times the design looked great - but then you find you over-did it on the details and it gets really tedious to do all the repetetive small parts... been there - done that 😅 - but it is always worth it afterwards! Great video - looking forward to the next outrageous arting of yours.

There are multiple matches for foam, including a physical phenomenon, a material, and a photography museum: Physical phenomenon Foam is a colloidal system where gas bubbles are dispersed in a liquid or solid material. The word comes from the medieval German word veim, which refers to the frothy head that forms on beer after it's poured. Material Foam is a lightweight, cellular material made by introducing gas bubbles into a polymer material. Foams can be used for many purposes, including: Fire fighting: Stabilized foams of carbon dioxide bubbles are used to fight oil fires. Food: Proteins like those in whipped cream, marshmallow, and meringue are used to stabilize foams. Packaging: Foam fabric can be used to protect products during transportation. Photography museum Foam is a photography museum in Amsterdam that hosts exhibitions and educational programs. The museum is dedicated to contemporary photography and offers a variety of activities for schools. Magazine Foam Magazine is an award-winning photography publication that is published twice a year. Each issue features a specific theme explored through photography, essays, interviews, and opinions.

KZbin at 2x speed, Netflix at 1.5x and where anything is in a browser and it'll let me it's 3x speed or sometimes 4x with certain things. You can get so much more done but it definitely takes time to adjust to it (advise to go in 0.25 increments till it seems normal). Only thing is anything else feels like it's going slow if you're forced to watch something in 1x again.

I beg you to ensure this foam contains fire retardants. Acoustic foams are specifically designed to be used on walls, using fire resistant materials. Mattress & memory foam often instead contain highly flammable, toxic chemicals. You can get some that contain flame retardants though more expensive, I pray this is the case. Anything electrical or projects requiring heat/things that can spark, I would just avoid doing in here.
