To those who want to know about the original story: Elder Jinchi was obsessed with ornate kasayas which in his mind was the symbol of a monk's status and enlightenment. But this contradicts the Buddhist doctrine of abstinence. When Wukong and his master Sanzang arrived at Guanyin Temple during the journey to the west , they showed Elder Jinchi the brocade kasaya given by Tathagata(the chief buddha who sealed Wukong under the mountain for 500 years and in animation of chapter 6 we can see Wukong peeing on his hand). The kasaya was a divine artifact that can prevent one from fire and flood（we get it in the game). Jinchi thought about this kasaya day and night and wanted to keep it for his own. Following the advice of his disciples Guangzhi and Guangmou, he set fire to Sanzang‘s room at night trying to kill him and take the kasaya. However, his plan was saw through by Wukong and ended up burning down the entire Guanyin Temple. He was so ashamed that he bumped his head into the wall and died. And the black bear has an even longer and more complex story with all characters show up in chapter 1.

You forget that Wukong got a fire protection shield for Sanzang and fanned the flames a bit so that it engulfed the entire temple, instead of being limited to the guest room. Thus, the scene in this cartoon where monkey stands idly on a hilltop as the temple burned

Same, the game first three chapter animation are told a lot of Buddhist ideas, great on storytelling but this one are my favorites For how many of us crave vanity for various reason: good or bad, yet it eventually cause downfall to us

Perfect game, polished, full of content, reasonable pricing, story telling is bold and inside of it makes me think alot, which is a very good way to think about humanity, graphic is top of the industry, gameplay seems simple but absolutely addicting, building variety and free re spec is just wt we needed thank you thank you, boss and enemy variety just beats all other games, I read journey to the West when I was young but seeing someone put sooooo much effort to recreate ALL those monsters and characters is pure insane. Thank you, I can't thank more to this game this art and to you, this team of passionate dev Hope u guys keep on the spirit, keep on making GREAT games, keep on REBEL like sun wukong the monkey king. 有好多人話黑悟空應該要攞GOTY, 呢個動畫同埋無攞到呢個榮譽嘅對馬戰鬼就好好咁同我哋講咗唔需要虛榮嚟證明隻game嘅價值，等我哋玩家去證明啦。 A lot of people said BM Wukong should be GOTY, this animation and Ghost Of Tsushima(who didn't earned the title) already told us we do not need an empty title to prove the game'worth, let us the gamers prove it.

It's not that the Black Bear helped him, or he become greedy, it's in his nature. Back when he was a little monk that try to catch the frogs scene, that frogs is not normal "frog" it's the Chan Chuy, a mythical creature that represent wealth. The scene showed that even when he's a little kids, he already follow the wealth. And the Black Bear gave it to him, hence their friendship. Then he start to go to temple and become a great monk, but in the end, his greed make him want to collect kayasa. But then he meet the legend kayasa from Wukong's master. Fun fact, the Legend Kayasa was given to the master by Guanyin herself. She knew that the grandmaster monk at Guanyin Temple is tainted with greed, hence why she gave it to Wukong's master, to test out her follower greed, and he failed to it, thus causing his own suicide. The story is the embodiment of why greed is bad, and even people who already quelled their mortal need like monks can still fell for it, let alone normal people, and when they do, the result usually very very bad.

He's not wrong... Goku, Gokong, Wukong is right pronounciation... But in different region... In my country in SEA, we pronounce 孙 as son, 悟 as go, and 空 as kong... And for japanese they pronounce 孙 as son, 悟 as go, and 空 as kuu...

@@AerisReyha Wukong is Wukong, it's not supposed to type Goku. Different pronunciation is a thing and writing system is another thing. For example, the English and French languages have many similar words, but if you use French phonetics to spell English words in an English exam, it would definitely be incorrect. Vice versa. Also, both of their characters are Chinese, and the Japanese picked "孫", instead of "孙" as you said.
