Every adaptation of this story gives me a knot in my throat. It's so sad but so beautiful at the same time. There are so many iconic quotes from this story that really hits deep, not just in the context of the story but in real life as well. Aside from the entertainment, a lot of lessons can be learned from the story, and that's what makes it so good. 1. "Who cares about the crowded, broad road? I'll walk the single-plank bridge into the night" 2. "Let the self judge the right and the wrongs, let others decide to praise or to blame and let the losses and gains remain uncommented on." 3. "There are two cringeworthy phrases in one's life that must be said, no matter what: 'Thank you' and 'I'm sorry'." 4. "When you're looking at someone, you should not use black and white to judge them. What matters is what their heart believes in."

I'm so happy for this comment. I absolutely loved that Wei was portrayed as dark at some parts of the story. As much as I like the character (obviously, since he is the central character of this video), he is in many ways an anti-hero, who eventually finds his way back, and doesn't slip completely, but certainly does bad things. I often feel that this darker side gets forgotten, because it's so easy to sympathize with him - it's great you pointed it out.

Love it, and love the (perhaps accidental) parallels with Lord of the Rings you drew on by choosing this specific song! If I could change just one thing, I would have made it follow chronological order just a bit more closely, and end by focusing solely on the battle between Wuxian and all the other tribes, surrounded by the green flames. But you made up for that by associating the scenes pretty closely with the lyrics, and I especially loved how you pulled the zither and the flute into it-- that just made this whole thing wonderful! Thanks for the work!

many anime adaptions like this arent really well known or at least to me this amv was amazing i would like to watch the anime and i would like to be recommended other anime made from Chinese or korean manga/ mahwa as many people dont make videos putting these on their list to watch next season etc so i would really enjoy if someone could recommend me a list or a few anime that are like this and are amazing and arent shown enough appreciation that they deserve. I didn't really watch many chinese adaptations (and I am hungarian, so the list I look up for new donghua's is also on a hungarian website), but here are some, that I plan to watch: Douluo Dalu, Dou Po Cang Qiong, Quan Zhi Gao Shou I didn't see them yet, but they seemed promising, so I hope I will like them :) If any of them captures my attention, there is quite a big chance that I will make some videos with them, so stay tuned! Yes it is just... haunting, and still really calm. That's why I prefered this version (beside the instruments: the guitar and the flute just fitted well with Lan Zhan's zither and Wei Wuxian's flute), it somehow reminded me more of the series... it also has these really light and beautiful connections and relationships between the characters, while dealing with some really dark themes and conflicts in the main storyline.

Nice video! 👍❤️ After watching this, I'm considering rewatching the donghua since my initial reaction was "okay". But when I saw this vid, and the nice atmosphere you set up, maybe I'll try to give the donghua a chance, with a new lens and perspective.

The novel is gold, the donghua just doesn't quite capture everything, the drama is also pretty good although it does deviate from the source material a bit
