I would love if you cracked them and sent them to PSA again. Just to see how inconsistent they are. How many of those cards would come back the same grade? It’s an expensive experiment but sort of prove the point that most modern cards that are sent to PSA could be a 9 some days and a 10 other days, depending on the grader. It’s the million dollar question in the hobby: Why do people continue to pay a premium for a PSA 10 when that same card could be a PSA 9 if it were graded on another day?

@internetperson9121 at least with TAG you don't have human interference in the grading process eg you don't have some one having a bad day or even worse manipulating pop counts or something!! Plus there is no transparency on why your card grader gave you the grades you get !! That's not enough for the cost of their service!! Plus no guarantees on true authentication lol it's definitely a scam

Good video. I have strong objections to comments that visible card defects may not have been bad enough to drop the grade. By definition a card that has any visually detectable defect should not be a 10. Having worked in the manufacturing quality industry for years this level of quality control for card grading is laughable. Grades should be defined in a quantitative manner and cards should be graded to those standards. Technology exists today to apply a quantitative grade for cards. This video shows the obvious flaws in the application of standards and subjectivity of the grading process regardless of company or even within each company. Grading for cards as done today is only an approximation that is subject to the level of scrutiny given and open to wide variations as well as potential fraud and manipulation. Buyer beware.

unreal, how many PSA 9 I got(especially when PSA did its first new hiring boost in like 2019) I had been sending in 100-200 cards at a time per month. was getting like 80-100 PSA 10's. After te change, had a batch of same caliber cards get 34 outa 200 PSA 10 w a million PSA 8's. I think they have eased up sonce that. But getting a 10 was as hard as BGS Black lavels for the new graders. I am shocked that that many of yourcards came back 10's. Congrats! well done

This is annoying to me since I sent some pretty good vintage cards to PSA and the grade ranges are crazy for cards that look very similar. I sent a batch that I had apparently not put in proper order and they took forever to come back and the grades were poor, but the cards looked similar to another batch with higher grades that I sent in after and came back sooner. I wish Tag was able to process older cards already!

What a fantastic video. That was still a nice pull of 9s and 10s. I have been submitting some vintage early 80s baseball cards and some Ohtani and Harper RCs to SGC. Out of 15 submissions, I received ten 10s and five 5s. PSA will be at a show near me in December and want to drop off some cards but did find some very slight print lines that you can only see with a 50x magnifying glass. This video gives me hope that they can possibly pull a ten. Thank you for sharing this video, it was by far one of the best I've seen for PSA grading. Got yourself a new subscriber.

Sgc is much stricter than psa. They 9.5 like crazy very hard to get 10s with them but I use sgc. If I get a 8 I just crack and keep raw a sgc 9 or 9.5 i know deff mint and could possibly 10 at psa. Sgc has gem 10 some big cards for me tho I'm 5 for 5 on mahomes rookies. Knock on wood

PSA has always been a sloppy grading company. In the 1990's all the dealers joked that PSA stood for "please submit again". And we did. Get back our submission, break out the 8's and 9's and resubmit until they got 10's. At $3-5 a card, it was worth doing over and over. One dealer used to send 100 card lots and not open till the next show. Then he'd predict ten 10's, twenty 9's, and the rest 8 or less. Without fail the percentage would match. And the 8's and 9's would go back in the next 100 card lot. All the cards he offered at his table were 10's, many former 8's and 9's.. I recently had a customer try to sell us PSA 10 with pop of 2. I checked PSA's site and sure enough it showed pop 2 in a 10. I suggested we see if the other 10 was on ebay to get a price. It brought up 8 PSA 10's of the same card, all with different serial numbers. So their pop 2 was at least pop 9. Not updating or deliberate under reporting? Either way, deceiving the collector.

I’ve been telling people for a long time, the grades are largely random. They spend about 30 seconds to 1 minute per card total, it isn’t some scientific crap like some people believe. It’s just a total scam especially with modern cards

I don't use psa my sgc gets me scratching my head i have a clean gold /10 soto auto i want to send but I don't wanna be disappointed either it looks clean asf. But do they agree i dunno they gave me 8s on some clean big haliburtons I cracked them tho. Haliburton has been awful so far this season tho

When I submit cards it is not affiliated with my KZbin channel so this is not the case. I’m just like anyone else that sends their cards in for grading. You can get a grader on a good or bad day nothing is going to be 100% reliably repeatable across all submissions.
