I set up a bird feeder on my balcony!

Birds often visit my apartment balcony to feed at the feeder that I set up months ago. It took them some time to discover it, but now they come quite often!

Since the video was made, I have moved a couple times, so I can't give an update from the same location. But this feeder is not set up at my new balcony, and the birds at the new place already found it and come to eat regularly. As for tips: it helps a lot if you have plants / trees near the feeder and/or a small water feature (a small fountain, or just a simple sturdy bowl of water). This is because trees and places near water is where birds would naturally look for food. It's important to keep the feeder at a place where cats can't reach (if you have cats). Also it's not really necessary to invest into a big feeder. You can get a coconut feeder like this www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07KGHPQX3

Hey what about the bird droppings ? How do you manage it ? I set up a bird feeder too but my neighbors complained and told me not to put food. And I had to stop it but I miss it. So please tell me. I have a really small balcony. How do you manage the bird droppings ?

This is golden! Thank you for sharing. Do you experience strong wind issues? I am planning to do something similar, however, my balcony is so windy that I’m a tad hesitant.

I did not have wind issues with this feeder, it's heavy enough to stay in place. But the contents would often be blown away by the wind, but that was not an issue for me. I also hung up a coconut filled with bird food at some point on the same hook as the feeder, during strong winds the coconut fell off, but the bird feeder was okay.

@@xxjsmyc it took about 1-2 months before the birds discovered my feeder. I think it also helped that I installed some faux trees - I think the birds are more likely to come if there's something green on your balcony or if there's water - because this is where they would naturally look for food.
