Hello I’m leegcsilver and I wrote that original post. Congratulations on a great run! I was actually able to beat my old record with a 919, 100 development date and posted it. Then a couple of weeks later Sir_loincloth222 posted a 907 date! That’s the current record that I’m looking to break once I get a little time off work. Really enjoyed the video.

@@Zieley btw some thoughts if you want to attempt it in the future. I am not 100% sure if you did this but you can still have achievements enabled if you turn on domain limit +3 which I think is self explanatory how that helps you. Additionally I would recommend picking up the extort subjects perk. It can give you 400 extra gold whenever you use it and you can use it every 5 years. Additionally taking a Hajj immediately at the start of the game isn't that expensive and you have 2 really good scripted events that go with it. There is a 25% chance you could get +3 income for a couple of years which can add up. There is another event where you just get +5.00 piety for a couple of months which also makes the journey more pious. I never saw you do a grand tour which gives extra development growth as well. You can also minmax stats by making sure the best wife for whatever stat you need at any given time is your primary wife. At the start of the game even with something like 0 intrigue you have a 95% chance to kill your liege's steward and taking that councilor position so quickly is just amazing. Finally there are tax laws I would recommend switching to ghazi tax at the start of the game because it gives you extra piety per month that is actually useful compared to the very small amount of benefits normal taxes give you. There is also some sort of tax that gives you development growth but its not available to the duke, and I couldn't find online who could use it but that tax law feels like it could be potentially very broken.

Something I recently realized is you can speed through the tech tree with a high learning ruler and a high development province if your culture only exists in that one province. Would be interested to see a video on that.

CK3 is probably my favorite game ever. I love it because I'm constantly feeling challenged and like I'm learning something, and therefore improving (maybe sometimes only a little, but hey, you know, I'll take what I can get lol). That's, coincidentally, what I love about your vids too. I always learn something and I have a great time. I'm starting to like tall campaigns all because of you. I'm new to this game and to Crusader Kings but I'm slowly learning all the mechanics and playing tall has a lot of fun merits to it. I've been playing wide for a couple of months now and it was going a bit stale, but playing tall is really bringing me back to fun campaigns and your videos are helping me a lot to learn the tall mechanics and cultures and strategies. Awesome video, I'm going to try something similar real soon 🤘

I love playing tall. You just chill in a duchy or small kingdom for 100-200 years and build up your development, baronies and MAA, and then you switch and conquer everywhere, as no one can stop you :D

Since it was my first time playing tall, I started with petty king Murchard in 1066, I know it's not the ideal terrain in Ireland for playing tall, but I conquered Ireland, we are in 1153 now and I'm making 136 gold per month. Dublin's development, my capital, is 52, more than any county and I'm holding 12 domains. Development in Dublin is increasing by 13.6 per month and it is so satisfying to watch the circle become complete every time :D My character has 53 stewardship somehow, it is insane! I'm building my army right now so as soon as it is ready, I'm gonna start holy wars with pretty much everybody I can handle.

@@goodhunter8520 The game i'm running now, is i started in the duchy of Achaia with a custom character. I renamed it Sparta and made Laconia my capital (the city of Sparta was in Laconia). I conquered the duchy of Athens and made the kingdom of Hellas (which I renamed Sparta of course) played tall for about 150 years and then converted to hellenism + reformed it and broke free from the Byzantines and conquered all of Europe :D

@@Iollipop87 I finished my Ireland campaign. Reached 100 development in 1208 and conquered Britannia quite easily. Then I started another campaign with my lord and savior, count hasteinn and conquered Rome and all of Italy. I managed to reach 100 development in Rome in 983 and now, I'm running a world conquest and as of 1005, I have conquered HRE, Francia and Britannia. Through incest, ironically, I have produced a superhuman dynasty with 120 members and right mow my main family is running all of the good congenital traits in single characters. I've consecrated my bloodline, strengthened my bloodline, started a catholic religion and mended the schism. My army is literally OP, i have 4600 varangian veterans in 3 man of arms regiments. This is just disgusting xD I'm planning to conquer Persia next with Hasteinn. I have done it once, but this time I want to side with my own people, the Persians 😂

I love tall because you spend a lot of time focused on a certain area and you really get attatched. Playing wide means you spend less time on what you’ve already worked on, and you’re always looking outwards not inwards.

That's what I love about this game. One single battle can undo years of progress I've had a case where I lost 3 councillors, got wounded, died a few months later and had a 6yo as my hair, then got a dissolution faction declare war on me. Threw that crap right out the window😂

Have you tried this challenge with Magadha? Paliputra starts with a special university, Bengali Culture has Agrarian from day 1, and it has Farmlands, so even more development potential than floodplains.

I heard form somewhere if you appoint a steward with a culture that has the innovations that reduce existing development growth penalty and appoint him to increase development, he will function as if your own culture has those innovations, this translates to even faster development growth.

Aniconism is really overpowered especially if you have tours and tournaments and royal court. Usually you are restricted to destroying common and masterwork items, however having the ability to destroy any item into gold and piety is a game changer, its almost as good as Communion tenet, and the cost and time reduction on temple buildings is a cherry on the cake. Late game you will have hundreds of those worthless items sitting in your inventory that could have been scrapped to fuel early to mid game economy. Especially useful if you like to play tall.

CK3 challage: custom nation, Absurdistan, every time an event happens and you can make a desicion you HAVE to go for the worst one possible. (Be even better if you did this whilst playing in the Balkans)

It feel like you somewhat ignored tours mechanic which also provides flat development bonus and also can be used to get quite a lot of prestige/gold. Also your liege will convert your county unless you are religiously protected.

10:10 if you marry a steward and a steward spouse, can be even more, 25-50% from spouse skills. wards and wardens dlc has 5 star educators, 32 stewardship, gets up to 48 but can be too old. actually lowborns with nickname and admin/architect trait gets a full page on some other education when landed in a county 22:51 train commanders is better if you got extra knight slots, last run I was lucky to get warbanners (tapestry so swaps house banners). they gave +2 knights each, had 4, can use 3 as king/emperor. accidentally raised 1 maa and got killed because the enemy moved early, so I lost my warbanner (never had it physically) and then got it 'back', was actually purple, same 2 knights more prestige more durability. anyway, with +6 knights it triggered recruiting commanders 3-4x per year. if you forbid old guys and force young on martial, they improve quick. especially with military academy, a young knight/caravan master can go up +10 in martial and prowess. also found out that it trains highest prestige/lowest stat guys quite often. I guess gallant tree +4 can help too. it just seems it checks average knight prowess and gives something better than the bottom half. mainly good because it's house members and decent stats and prestige off the bat.

Awesome run! Need another fun challenge? How about making yourself a fun Dune challenge? It could incorporate various tasks you could ask your viewers what else they'd like, but I'd at least recommend these: a Bene Geserit religion, mixed with witches manipulating as many nobles with your daughters breeding good genetics to produce the Kwisatch Haderach Using religions as a tool, and the "zensunni wanderer" roots of the Fremen could be portrayed by an Islamic Faith with eastern syncretism. But so many fun options! as extra challenges you could strife to become head of faith and head of culture and convert as many people as possible to both, as well as to witches. You can cheese a little, but most of all just have fun with finding the best thematic story!
