Totally agree with shipping than buying locally....I am a Samsung guy all connected with IOT....ags movers huh...just saved them...they have an office in Ottawa. Thank you very much...bring a washer not a dryer...no comforters...I never use it in Uganda

@@RachaelNalumu yeah for sure those big pieces dry better in a dryer. Otherwise if you are not using them like me then mother nature's sun so abundant in at home will suffice for me. That's the environmentalist ine talking.

Yes another episode loaded with wisdom. Thanks Rach for this. You mentioned URA's concern is that you are not bringing in a car for sale and I guess if you are not then you get a red plate - which am assuming is tax free, right?. Would the red plate also apply if you just bought the car say in England or else where they drive on the left, ship it to ug for personal use? Thanks
@RachaelNalumu
@RachaelNalumu Жыл бұрын
The only thing I have yet to get answered is how long you have to have owned the car for before you ship it to uganda. The general answer is, as long as it’s registered under your name from the country you’re shipping from, then it’s fine. They just want to know you’re not selling it upon arrival

Rachael I challenge you on what you said. It’s only handful Africans that can afford the Original Sony, LG, Bosch etc. I personally import these goods from U.K. for sale in uganda including beautiful leather sofas but the sales are veeeery slow and most Ugandans think we’re expensive.
@RachaelNalumu
@RachaelNalumu Жыл бұрын
Yes of course only a handful can for sure. I mean the ones who can afford, it's nice to have the option to ship them into the country ourselves. Which is what I've been doing these days with my electronics purchases

@@RachaelNalumu I think you need to pay visit to our furniture/ electronic shop perhaps u might find it cheaper than the hassle of buying and shipping from abroad every time you need something good and original. Hey! Try our cozy leather sofas you won’t be disappointed. Remember it’s all imported from the U.K.

i watched the first interview ,glad to see her here again!And if its okey to ask , i did be interested on how to ship from Uganda to the west/USA/EUROPE(Goods/Products) ,why is it so expensive? is it still a political system in place where African goods are limited? Why is it so easy for businesses in china to ship abroad and African countries cant? what is the miss? Is it possible to interview some people that do ship abroad in Uganda? Because apparently most companies cant! i wanted a sofa from loveartisan kenya and they couldnt ship it because its too expensive.
@RachaelNalumu
@RachaelNalumu Жыл бұрын
Great questions I ask myself all the time ! I think it has to do with demand and to be honest, shipping companies not taking Africa seriously. I’m sure there are other issues as well (barriers to enter, taxes, monopolies, etc) but it is annoying. DHL can’t be charging what they do to ship abroad, it’s insane. We need more options. And generally shipping to Uganda should be much cheaper as well.
