Do they have specific cuts of meat like the USA? Pork chops, pork loin, etc.. It kind of looks like they just hack up the meat and sell it in pieces. Interesting video, thanks.

Yes and no. Some cuts like pork loin, chops, ribs… Generally they eat tiny pieces and I’ve never seen a Thai person grill a whole steak or smoke a brisket or even a ham but they do sell those cuts at some of the supermarkets here like Makro. When I find my permanent place I’ll build a nice smoker and do some ribs and brisket. Letting Thai people try Texas BBQ ought to be an interesting video.

Yeah and they have good stuff and unique stuff and there’s always surprises. I’m a sucker. I pull over almost every time I find a new market.

I don't know about the rest of the US but we have several farmer's markets in the Kansas City area that sell fresh food with shops that sell a variety of consumer goods.

We have them in Texas but they are few and far between. They just closed one in Burleson. They are always just open on weekends too. I love the Mai Laow market here by my house. It’s open 7 days a week during the day and usually starts to wind down in the evenings but as long as the customers are there the vendors stay open.

@texasruss I seen that ...right outside your door. It's a wonder how many dogs that are there that they aren't hanging around there lol

There are stray “soi dogs” everywhere here. A lot of the time you have to step over a dog to go inside a 7/11 which are also everywhere. The Thai people are good about caring for all the dogs. You hardly see a skinny dog here. I’ve seen people buy grilled pork on a stick to feed a nearby dog and seen the dog turn his nose up at it. I think the dogs figured out they get more love hanging around the street food carts. A couple of days ago I rode out to a remote lake to try and shoot some video and when I parked the bike about 6 really fat dogs came to see if I brought them food. People cook big pots of meat and rice and drive out to some remote areas to feed the homeless dogs. I think thats pretty cool!

I don’t know if i would recognize it if I saw it but I’ll try just about anything. I’ll have to look it up. Do you know if it's available in my area here in Pattaya?

Russ love your content, but you need to focus cam better!😅

Yes I realize that. It’s harder than it looks with the setup that I’m using. I’m fumbling around holding the camera in one hand and reaching in my pockets, trying not to drop what I’ve got in the other hand and when you take your eye off the camera for a second it can go south quick. It’s usually just a problem at these market videos. DJI makes a small vlogging cam that should fix the problem. It’s my next big purchase on the channel but I may try a chest mount next time while I cary the hand held and see if I can switch between the two so I don’t miss the good shots. Thanks for the feedback and hang in there. I’m still new at this stuff. I’ll get better!

Support new content but get out of Pattaya!

I’m with you! There’s plenty of people covering Pattaya. I’d be on a motorbike adventure right now but I have some major expenses coming up. I’ll be a cheap Charlie until I get past them. Hopefully in about 6 weeks. I’m working on a video now of a rubber market in Isaan I took last month. Once my lease is finished in Pattaya I’ll take to the road more as I look for my permanent place here in Thailand. There’s so much I still haven’t seen here!
