I've watched quite a few real estate photography videos, I'm surprized, I have yet to see photographers using a high powered fill flash to correctly light the room by balancing interior and exterior light, especially when rooms have large exterior windows. Failing to do so often results in pics which are painfully bright, failing to portray a sense of realism.

What an Insightful video! However, my left ear happened to notice sth ... The SE of the car engine in relation to the car (Range Over) is not a match - I am not looking for a perfect match but you got my point. For me, it sounded more of grass cutter machine or a quad bike. Overall, I absorbed so much info.

Awesome Parker 😎 the way you explain everything in detail that makes you different from other. You grab all the detail point that are important such like lighting and white balance etc an explain it clearly. I like the point where you tells about the lighting, how lighting change the whole shot an make video really cools the way to explain about capturing the details and what client says is amazing. The second point I feel was white balance the look that will change your is WB must apply point for real state videos because this is changing all video look. The third point and favourite point is the story telling this is the point that change my all videos learn from you 😀 of there will be no story then no one will watch the video because it will not related to anything. Thanks for giving us best valuable information 👍.

When I shoot Real Estate I always thought it would be better to shy away from f2.8 and shoot closer to f5.6 just to have less of a shallow depth of field. Of course with f2.8 your ISO can be lower. Do you find that the shallow depth of field you get from f2.8 ever looks weird/doesn't have enough of the room in focus?

I'm a Real Estate Broker with 10 plus years in the business always looking to build a business and that's why I got my license. I really don't care for it. I have listed homes for builders over 2million in Houston, and listed an 5 million dollar apartment complex. Now its time I take my money and invest. I have paid cash for a house and made money just because it's Florida. Great Channel. I'm a full time stock trader and was in Bitcoin at 600. Still pushing to hit it big. I do own a staging company as well and just flipped our furniture on the last two projects and made money. I like the idea of selling furniture I just don't see alot of money in flipping regular furniture. Maybe extreme high end.

I just had a quick question, Parker in the video said when indoors he shoots at f 2.8 and outdoors at f 13. Isn’t f 2.8 a very shallow dept of field? How does the full room appear in focus when shooting with such a high aperture?
@LukasNewman
@LukasNewman 3 жыл бұрын
You are correct! f2.8 would indeed result in a shallower depth of field compared to f13. However, Parker also told us that he shot the whole video at a focal length of 16mm. This is super wide angle. Your focal length also plays a factor in how exaggerated your depth of field appears. At 16mm (on the 1dx mk iii) it is very wide and there will not be a big exaggeration of depth of field so the entire room appears to be in focus to us when we see the video. If Parker had shot with a 35mm, 50mm or even tighter the 2.8 depth of field would be a lot more pronounced and you would notice just how shallow and out of focus everything is. So long explanation short. Wide lenses (like 16mm) result in less depth of field in addition to your aperture. I hope this helps. Have an excellent day!
