Thanks to Hollyland for sponsoring this slightly absurd video. Here's the wireless microphone system we used throughout the video: Lark MAX on Amazon US: amzn.to/46qHCa4 Lark MAX on Amazon UK: amzn.to/4417SpG Official Website: hollyland.info/LarkMax

Imagine getting cast for a film shoot, rehearsing the script constantly in preparation for a hopefully good film. Then you come on set and the camera guy is randomly supergluing buttons on his camera lmao

Have been watching this channel for years. This had me cracking up the whole time. It's 2023, and the T3i is still punching well above its weight even with buttons removed. HAHAHA.

Started watching DSLR guide during my master's 10 years ago when I had a 600D. Honestly winced seeing you pluck away at the buttons like that. Love your stuff Simon

The T3i is a legendary camera that defined a generation of filmakers, perhaps the very first generation of amateur filmakers. It was the first piece of technology that allowed people to get cinematic results on the cheap. What a glorious tool.

This was weirdly extra nostalgic for me but brilliant lol! I say nostalgic because your channel and video still feels like my home out of all the filmmaking channels I follow, since you've still stayed true to your philosophy of using what you have (that mighty t3i!) for a decade and it helped me make some great financial decisions and slowly your philosophy has become the norm for me

I really like your videos but this one seems pointless. Destroy a camera just for it to only have the Rec button? It was better to have done a challenge where you could only change the configuration once in the whole session. Feels empty to me.

Yeahhhhhh the justification for doing so was really not explained too well. He didn't have to rip out the buttons and hot glue them if he wanted a challenge, just put some gaffer's on top for demonstration purposes. No sense in mutilating a core memorabilia item of the channel just for a half baked challenge video.

Been subscribed to this channel for years! It's always painful to watch cameras get destroyed, but at least this one lived a great life. Covering the ISO button actually kind of turned a 600D into a real cinema camera, because you're almost never compelled to change it during the shoot to avoid color shift and noise variation with most cameras, unless you're shooting Alexa 35 - then you have ISO 6400 noiseless mode 😄

Still can´t get the lesson that was learned after tearing such an amazing camera (my first as well, love it and still have it) apart. Even old film cameras have buttons. Making it as functional as a pinhole camera isn´t something that is comparable to any real life situation. Love to see the T3i performing SO well though.

Not sure if I'd glue or remove parts. Plastic tends to be brittle and could easily snap. Also glue seepage might just short the circuits. So I'd just tape over the buttons.

THe hollyland wireless Lavs are the worst compact stereo lavs in the market. No external power support. Slow charging, spotty battery life means I can charge up the units and the box and come back a couple weeks later with them all drained. spotty connection with the transmission cutting out at just 3m distance if the subject turns around and I lose direct Line of Sight between Tx and Rx. Never buy hollyland lav kit
