Many are asking about the meat. I hauled it home, cleaned it up, and it is still in my freezer pending a vote of confidence that eating wolf does not carry the disease risk so commonly mentioned. I have opinions from wildlife disease ecologists and they so far have been what I would call "luke warm" to the idea. If I can get more confidence that the disease risk is low, we will eat it. Would you eat wolf meat if you knew the disease risk was low?

Never leave the meat. Trim all the fat off so it's nice and lean (not that there'll be much fat in the first place), cube it up into about one inch cubes, cook it in a steam pot (you can boil it as well if you don't have a steam pot) until it's nice and tender, and then give it to your dog(s) lol

I am truly amazed at the enjoyment you get out of walking onto a pristine piece of land and "basically killing everything in sight" . . . and the "happiness and joy" you display as a result of your CONQUESTS? is evident . . . you must be soooo proud! . . . perhaps you could visit elementary schools in the area and present a program as to why it is necessary, beneficial and important, if given the chance, to kill as many wild animals as possible on a single outing and the "self-fullfillment and sense of achievement" it brings about in one's own self . . . you are amazing!!!

You really should watch more of Randy Newberg's videos. He's not some mindless trigger puller and he has done more for conservation and protection of wildlife habitat than any person you will ever meet. And yes, he legally shot a wolf for reasons seeming good to him and the people managing the wildlife in the locality where the wolf was shot.

Randy does more for wildlife management and public lands than anyone I know. He and his platforms has contributed more for the restoration of habitat than any non hunting group ever could or will. Do your research and then apologize and thank him for what he does for hunters and non hunters alike!

@W M I've been a keen observer of the wolf re-introduction project in Yellowstone National Park since it started in 1995. I knew in 2001 when the Druid Peak Pack reached 37 in number, which, at that time, was the largest single wolf pack documented in history, that their proliferation would be a problem outside the park but in the greater Yellowstone area. I wanted to watch ONE video of a person hunting a wolf . . . WHY??? . . . to see what their motivation and MINDSET was ln killing the animal . . . I think it was candidly revealed in the video . . . his response to the kill was one of GLEEFULL GIDDINESS AND TOTAL IMMATURITY . . . what a joke to put this individual on a pedestal
@garybromberger4044
@garybromberger4044 3 жыл бұрын
@W MI believe a rancher has the right to kill a wolf if it is affecting his herd. Was the wolf on this PRIVATE PROPERTY affecting the livelihood of this specific property owner? Maybe it was, it wasn't clear in the video. What was very clear was the immaturity (giddiness, child-like reaction, being flustered and "choking" when the opportunity presented itself) . . . are these the traits of a PROFESSIONAL hunter??? . . . are these the same traits exhibited by professional conservation agents when they are summoned to a rancher's property to take down and remove a predator that is causing harm specifically to their herd??? . . . I don't think so

Thanks for sharing Randy! Let me say this, 2 people have inspired me to be a hunter and especially hunt the west: Jack O’Conner and Randy Newberg! Thank you Randy for always being completely honest about the public/private land thing. And I don’t blame you at all for hunting on private land when you had the chance. I’m happy for you that had the chance to. I’m happy for you had the chance to hunt on your own and to bag one of these magnificent critters! This is probably my favorite Randy Newberg Video ever along with the one where you when went after the Dall sheep in Alaska! Congratulations!

GEEZ!!!! I’m not a hunter so it’s hard for me to actually believe how BIG wolves really are!!! That is impressive Randy!!!! I surely wouldn’t want to run into a pack of those in the deep woods.... YIKES!!! By the way, you utilized every part of the wold and ate it?? How does wolf taste?? I’m curious if you can relate the taste to any other animal. Keep the videos coming, I really enjoy your content. If I had my way and could live my life over, I think I would have taken up the sport of hunting!!! Cheers!!!

Congrats! They ain't easy to get. I have had zero luck hunting them, and only trapped one. What did it taste like? Eccocus Granulous (spelled wrong I'm sure) scared me off from eating it. Mine was black. Looking for a grey one now....

I love the naturalism of the man on the hunt; the emotions are clearly expressed. Wonderful victory! Thanks for sharing these personal moments with us. We don't eat dogs or cats in Canada but after we skin 'em and take the head, we leave the flesh for the critters. I assume that you're feeding your dogs? Anyway, great video, great shot. 👍👌

You should do an episode on how to sign up, process, and be reimbursed(bounty) for shooting a wolf through the foundation for wildlife management Idaho. Lots of people want to do it but cant figure out the process.
