Many are asking about the meat. I hauled it home, cleaned it up, and it is still in my freezer pending a vote of confidence that eating wolf does not carry the disease risk so commonly mentioned. I have opinions from wildlife disease ecologists and they so far have been what I would call "luke warm" to the idea. If I can get more confidence that the disease risk is low, we will eat it. Would you eat wolf meat if you knew the disease risk was low?

Never leave the meat. Trim all the fat off so it's nice and lean (not that there'll be much fat in the first place), cube it up into about one inch cubes, cook it in a steam pot (you can boil it as well if you don't have a steam pot) until it's nice and tender, and then give it to your dog(s) lol

Congrats! Over the years Ive often experienced the best success and most enjoyable surprises on days when I least expected to-, or wanted to be out there. Not one day away from the woods measures up to the any day in the woods. That is a beautiful wolf, I am anxious to see what you cook up with the meat. To be honest, I hadn't considered eating one. No reason other than I hadn't viewed a wolf as a food source.

You really should watch more of Randy Newberg's videos. He's not some mindless trigger puller and he has done more for conservation and protection of wildlife habitat than any person you will ever meet. And yes, he legally shot a wolf for reasons seeming good to him and the people managing the wildlife in the locality where the wolf was shot.

@W M I've been a keen observer of the wolf re-introduction project in Yellowstone National Park since it started in 1995. I knew in 2001 when the Druid Peak Pack reached 37 in number, which, at that time, was the largest single wolf pack documented in history, that their proliferation would be a problem outside the park but in the greater Yellowstone area. I wanted to watch ONE video of a person hunting a wolf . . . WHY??? . . . to see what their motivation and MINDSET was ln killing the animal . . . I think it was candidly revealed in the video . . . his response to the kill was one of GLEEFULL GIDDINESS AND TOTAL IMMATURITY . . . what a joke to put this individual on a pedestal

@W MI believe a rancher has the right to kill a wolf if it is affecting his herd. Was the wolf on this PRIVATE PROPERTY affecting the livelihood of this specific property owner? Maybe it was, it wasn't clear in the video. PLEASE do a video on the meat. Please please with sugar on top! When I shot my wolf 2 years ago I didn’t take the meat because all I could get was hearsay on it. Everyone I talked to seemed to have a lot of reasons to not eat it. The next one I shoot I plan to eat if I can find out what to look for and what to avoid. Also weather or not coyote is comparable would be good. Thanks so much for the content ✌️

I'm wondering that too. In my experieance predator animals are not good eating. In the case of say like bears you really got to know what your doing and the only good bear I ever had was in stew or hamburger mixed with pork fat and I guy who new what he was doing.
