I Shot Pro-Rated Disc Golf as an Amateur

In this video, I try to shoot a pro-rated round of disc golf at a local B-Tier tournament on my home course - Veterans Park in Arlington, Texas.
I felt confident that I could do it even though I had never come close. My putt was feeling really good and I had the home court advantage since I have played the course so many times. My goal was to shoot 1000 rated disc golf even though I am only rated 930 (vast difference).
I had a ton of fun doing it and want to keep practicing and getting better so that I might be able to play in more tournaments.

Don't invest in round ratings. I watched locals from a course back home putting up 1030 ratings on an easy course. I know for a fact those same players would get wrecked on NC courses.

@Blastmo Hornets Nest and Angry Beaver in Charlotte are the obvious gold level courses. Going west, North Cove has some nice courses, The Gorge being the toughest. Richmond Hill in Asheville has a nice challenge without being too intense. I started disc golf in FL and the ratings I mentioned are from a tournament on a course that's 10x easier than any of those.

I played Veterans once when I visited TX. Birdied hole 1 then went on to shoot +7 for the round, lol. Not a great round score but sure loved the course. You’re lucky to have such a great home course.

FYI, not trying to nit pick, but instead of saying "negative 6" or "positive 15," the accepted terminology in ball golf and disc golf is "6 under" or "15 over." Cheers and continued good luck in future tournaments!

17 with -6.... target reached.... next step.... nervously trying to hold onto a par.... THIS is where I live.... making that bad decision to "try and hold on".... This is where I now try and remember.... "Right, made it this far and here I am... so let's go one better'... (in this case... shoot for a birdie... relax... just think... a nice smooth lay up and bogey.... Then happily take a E (or even the Birdie)... In reality I'm there till morning, overthrow after overthrow.... Course I have one advantage... I'm Mediocre at everything... I LIKE to be the guy just beaten out by 'that guy'... u know... the one that is having a miserable day... Some times it's fun to deliberately shadow someone that's having a bad day... and sometimes it great pushing someone that's usually way better than me. (Om trail bikes I was good if i was angry... but who want's to race angry... so I had more fun stopping and helping out someone stuck in the mud, or shadowing someone noob... (also made it look like I was a better rider than I was... and gave my energy time to make it back out from behind that bush). I've only been throwing plastic at trees for 2 & a bit years... (starting at 50ish)... and can average E at my local (all hills Berhampore, Island Bay, Wellington New Zealand. I have my ups.... (2 HI1's on #4) I have my downs... (literally flipped and rolled down a hill adding 100ft off tee on #8) and a surprise best of -4.... while only using my Pig... with a par on #7, 734ft... up hill (Par 5). I wonder what mediocre thing I'll take up next.

Your almost there just work on your gap shots. Throw fireball type disc on Annie or a meteor on hyzer with a one step run up.

I usually throw a machete on Annie 4 hand if gap is close or if it's late gap I use meteor or dx thunderbird backhand.

I like the content but going MA2 at near MAX for the division is a little sus. You should go MA1 and push outside if your comfort zone.

I unfortunately sometimes shoot upwards of 950 and sometimes shoot around 875 lol. That's the main reason I am still in MA2 but my plan is to move up next tournament. I actually didn't even win MA2 in this tourney even with the 984 rated first round haha.
