i feel like when it comes to masculinity and femininity, people take it as only men can have masculine traits and only women can have feminine ones. I think masculinity is physical strength, and the urge to protect others, and femininity is emotional intelligence and the urge to nurture others. Both genders can have these traits, and it's not a bad thing.

I'm in Canada and I used to live with an abusive mother, she has schizophrenia but now I live with my Dad and my life has gotten so much better. But in court it's been PROVEN that she abused me, yet they won't force her to get help, they'll only do that once she kills someone which means they facilitate her crimes, not to mention she automatically got custody when the court thing started and my Dad had to pay her tons of money. Gender roles were not as clearly defined in ancient human societies. Women did hunt, they were just a lot more pragmatic than men. Since it was primarily women who were raising children they had to work in communities of sisters, aunts, grandmothers, etc. and they hunted and gathered for themselves. A clear trend is that men did go on riskier and larger hunts- a link to current-day trends of male impulsivity and risky behavior. Toxic femininity would be toxic standards or norms of what "should" be feminine, and what a "true" woman has to be like. Toxic masculinity is similarly toxic standards of what a "true" man should be. Dating may seem harder for men because women invest more in short-term/casual relationships. Pregnancy, being weaker and smaller, SA, rape, abuse, societal slut shaming, being told that sluts don't get good husbands, etc. Hook-ups are especially difficult because women tend to be as into men. Add on the fact that women have lower sex drives and women tend to have emotionally intimate relationships they can depend on other than their husbands/boyfriends (men aren't as great in having emotionally intimate friendships). Thus women are choosier than men in these scenarios. Things are much more balanced in terms of finding a wife or husband. Online dating is much worse because online dating is again associated with casual and short-term relationships, it is also associated with the dangers of SA and stuff. So a LOT more men use online dating platforms than men do. On Tinder 75% of active users are male. And of the only 25% of active "female" users, many are bots and catfish. That is a ratio of 3 men to 1 woman on Tinder. This allows the women on Tinder to be VERY choosy. Men honestly have a better chance of getting a serious date in real life.
