Welcome to N.C. I moved here 35 years ago and still love it. Your new place looks absolutely beautiful and with all the space ya'll need. Best of luck with the move. 👍❤👍

I wish the best of luck moving all those. I used to be a customer of yours when you had your store in King George and it helped me get my wife invested in fish. We were both sad when the store closed because buying online just isn't the same. I always liked speaking with you two because you were the only fish keepers that understood reality versus textbook fish keeping. If you walk in a Petsmart it seems everyone there has no clue what they're talking about and got trained from a fish keeping pamphlet. Much like myself, you clearly learned from experience. But again, good luck moving all them. I know it's not easy. The last fish I had to move was a Pleco that reached 26 inches long and it was a nightmare.

People like to rag on the Marineland Emperor HOBs but I had the same experience with an old unit. Got it used, stored it for a year, plugged it in and it ran perfectly for years. Great walkthrough. Love Lisa’s discus. Good luck with the new chapter you are moving into. Exciting times!

Welcome to NC! If you're near the Raleigh area give us a shout! Maybe we can do a collab, DIY and Aquarist, what can go wrong! One more thing, if you haven't considered it, get a whole house generator! NC has frequent power outages when storms roll through (and they frequently do).

Welcome to NC! I live in Mooresville NC, just north of Charlotte. Luckily in an area where I have 4 places within close proximity to get fish, Saltys, Upscale Aquatics, PetCo, and PerSmart. Got into the aquarium hobby about a year and a half ago, started watching your videos a few months before I ever went and got the aquarium and fish. Have had great success with a lot of the info off your vids.

Haha, I love the feeder fish tank! My backyard pond is stocked with goldfish from the "feeder fish" tank at the pet store. They've been in there for about 5 years now, still loving their home. They even spawned, so now it's even more stocked than it was then.

The transition is the scariest, most stress filled part of the move and yet, also the most exhilarating and fun! It's a just wierd mix of emotions... you know, unless everything dies and the tanks shatter... then, not so much the second part.

NORTH CAROLINA GANG WYA? Also thank you so much for all the great content. Y’all have helped me so much build my own tank. Starting off with a 10 gallon. Growing up my uncle had a 150 gallon tank and I loved feeding them and helping him acclimate the new fish. Now that I’m older I had wanted to for the longest to set up my own but never really knew how to. Didn’t really have the courage to set up a tank and start keeping fish since I didn’t know how to but a month later and a whole lot of reading and going down KZbin fish channel rabbit holes. I finally set mine up and it’s been going great in large part thanks to y’all’s content. Thank you so much

Outstanding video John, happy Easter to you and Lisa and all of youns. Yep in north carolina it's not yall anymore, it's youns. Welcome to the real south. John a quick question, is a fluval 407 too much for a 55. Have 2 black Friday 55s (had to buy 2) as a project in planning, working on stands right now using in part, your structural videos. Thank you very much and youns be very, very careful moving. Don't take any unnecessary chances moving literally tons of weight that your dealing with.

Fluval (207 or 308) External what came with tank ended up in the garden then bin. flow rate would drop so fast, it needed cleaning every week and was a right pain to start. these days i use the all pond solution one with a 1400lp/h or sun sun 1400lp/h brand in the usa what gets cleaned every month or two and has worked well for last few years and was 60usd or there about. only a very resent extra filter its an internal all pond solution one with 600lp/h and swapped out the sponge to filter floss and the other main one ive used filter material what helps with flow rate and should require much less cleaning, only the internal weekly but keeps water crystal clear. one thing i do know is i will not buy any Fluval filter, 4 or five times the cleaning and twice the cost to the ones im using now and the cheap ones i use now, they have always lasted longer than 4 -5 years, the less powerful one is in the shed whats over 5 years old and will be used as a back up if need be and thats the 800lp/h
@andreashessler8382 жыл бұрын
Surprised you have had any issues with those Fluval filters. I've been running a 207 on various tanks and have a 406 (essentially the same filter as the 407) filtering my 260L. Never miss a beat and I only have to clean them every 3 months or so. Great flow and filtration. I do have an APS filter (I believe it's the EF-150) filtering my 60L tank. It has been working well for over 2 years, but it is an inferior build quality to the Fluvals. If you really want to spend a bit more money, go with Oase. They are excellent.
