Great video, thanks. Also fantastic to hear someone (finally!!) talking about LYING in a hammock (which is correct English), rather than laying, (which is the past tense of lying, or, can be used when speaking of an object, ie. laying the hammock on the floor, the book on the table, etc.). 👍👍👍

I’m 5’9” 260lb and have a long history of back issues that i don’t believe are all that common. I was an undercover narcotics detective for many years - during a surveillance operation i was in an undercover Nissan Altima sitting stationary “double-parked” on a residential street (lights & flashers ON) when a cocaine filled drunk driver in a modern day TANK (Lexus LS) decided my Altima needed its trunk rearranged so that it sat in my backseat... 40 MPH was the estimated speed at impact, but it was enough to delete the trunk AND cause my body to BREAK the recline gear on my driver seat, propelling me backward. Needless to say - the jet-fueled idiot fled the scene and I CHASED HIS ASS. LOL!!!! Until, of course, my rear tires became smoked grated cheese from rubbing on the newly redesigned trunk... I was screwed out of any compensation (god bless the USA) and was left with a lifetime of ever-expanding arthritis in the center of my back as well as a slipped/herniated disc. I’ve tried everything, and now sorta just ignore the discomfort. But my sleep quality is horrific in the last year or so. I HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING DOING EXACTLY THIS - I even bought a “double” hammock that can handle 500-600LBS I believe but I just can’t pull the trigger.... With all the above in mind, would you say this could be a good solution for me? Or is this only something that a slender, overall healthy dude like yourself could pull off or benefit from?

Thank you for this Noah's Ark- I would like to try and begin my journey again...its been 49 years since I enjoyed sleeping in a hammock in a tug boat going down the Amazon river...there were no beds but just hammocks and we did this for three months. I had the most wonderful and relaxing time even though it rained a lot and the heat can sometimes be sweltering. My husband and I share a king side bed but since my care accident I have had a hard time sleeping in the bed or getting a good night's rest. I would like to try and indoor hammock - we have a huge master's bedroom. I can put a hammock stand and the hammock in it. What product or type of stand and hammock should I buy? Please advise. My accident happened years ago and no breaks in my bones or ligaments- just chronic pains due tot he accident the curve in my neck is not the same. Would appreciate your advise. I just read your comment 3 years ago. Because I am considering hammocks and I came across your comment in 2019- 8/27/19, Thank you and God bless.

I like being able to move my hammock around and being in an apartment saves me from having to do a bunch of wall patches when i move out I have a Dutchware 11ft netless single layer hammock and its way more comfortable than the shorter ENO hammocks, it just makes a great bed and they are around $40-50. Everyone should try using a hammock instead of a bed.

I slept in a hammock for about 4 years and I only recently switched to a bed because I moved out, and the house I'm remodeling will end up being a rental so I can't really set up a hammock (plus the walls definitely won't hold a hammock XD). It's always been really painful to sleep in a bed after sleeping in my hammock, so the first week in my new bed was really rough on my back until it adjusted and even now over a month later my neck hasn't stopped hurting (I might need to find a better/more minimalistic pillow, since I never needed one in the hammock). It's funny how making the switch from a bed to a hammock had zero pain but switching from a hammock to a bed has immense pain. Currently imagining myself laying in my old hammock, free of pain 🥲

In 1987 I was in a severe car accident where my car flipped a few times so I've been going to the chiropractor. I was having severe back pain in 2015-2016 and so I got rid of my bed and replaced it with a hammock for a year and to this day I have never been back to the chiropractor!!! Now this year I'm thinking about going back to a hammock, because I I toss and turn and I can't sleep through the night on a mattress, the because there are no pressure points in a hammock I can sleep all through the night.

Mine obviously wasn't straight into the wall, but yes, you def want to make sure you've found the studs in your room and they'll actually support your weight. Something you can do is attach your hook to a piece of wood and attach that to the wall, so all the force of you pulling down isn't in one spot.

It's a damn shame you can't put up a hammock in your new place. I hammock camp, and I would sleep like the dead. After one trip I crawled into my bed woke up feeling like I got hit by a truck. I though why not try the hammock. slept in it for 2 weeks, felt great. Then just to be sure I slept in my bed, woke up with back and shoulder pain. Went back to the hammock, and haven't slept in a bed for 2 and a half years! lol Two things you didn't mention is, one it's easier to wash a hammock than a bed, and no risk of bed bugs, two the rocking motion accelerates rem sleep. So you get a longer deeper sleep.

4 nights of bad posture in 3 nights causing pain is 4 nights more than I would have from sleeping in a normal bed. The hammock doesn't really give you total body support, and will fuck up your posture and joints if you use this for years upon end.
