Ken, this may be your best video yet, although there are many others that could qualify as "best". The reason this one resonates with me is because like you, I don't consider myself a "trucker" and never will. It's just that right now this is the best opportunity God has given me to provide for my family financially but it's taking a huge toll on me emotionally. The stress is out of this world, especially for a new driver. I feel like I'm walking in this mine field and I'm about to step on one any second. It feels like everyone is trying to "get" me. The DOT, state patrol, my company, my customers, other truckers, the road conditions and weather, my truck, etc. There are so many things that could go wrong. You my friend just laid out the blueprint on how to approach the trucking game. It's supposed to be a very short stint for 95% of people where you need to figure out a way to make as much money as possible in the shortest period of time. The other 5% I believe are what we call the true "truckers" who see this as their life's calling and can't wait to get up in the morning and fire that beast up. But for the rest of us I liken this to doing a tour in the military - get in early in life, don't get killed or dishonorably discharged, learn valuable skills, make lots of solid connections and then in 4 years get out with VA benefits for life. Of course you're an outlier and very few (not quite "nobody", as your said) will be able to do what you've done and I believe it'll be next to impossible to do it without getting daily wisdom from people like yourself and a small handful of other KZbin truckers. I'm definitely going to keep the notification bell on as I'm excited to see what the next step in your journey to financial freedom is. Hopefully at some point you can start thinking about starting a family as money is only a tool that needs to be used to bless others once you take care of yourself. Once again, thanks for all you've done these last few years! God bless you and God speed brother.

Though I respect this young man and his accomplishments. He is misinformed in a few areas. Trucking as in any other industry has its ups and downs. Similar to the stock market. As such those who only invest for the short term quick gains will run at the first sight of adversity. He's right he's not a trucker nor built for this game. Trucking is a lifestyle not a career. Those who stick it out in good times and bad will reap the rewards first. By being in position to take advantage when the market starts to rebound. For the newbies in the game. Learn how to diversify your business and stop depending on the load board. Develop relationships with brokers and direct shippers. This will sustain you when the market takes a dump. Contract work always wins the day.

Every business has cycles, pricing issues, politicians to blame, blah blah. A good solid business has all of this priced in and can still turn a profit. I agree. What kills me about content creator is that they gas up people into this industry but don’t give the good and bad. I 100 percent agree a season business personal can navigate any market up and down. Another thing if you have a killer month you more than likely will have a shitty month. No industry kick out solid crazy returns month over month. It like the stock market on average you will do 10 percent But some months will do 30 percent and some months you will do -20 percent. That business. My frustration with content creators is they rarely show the downs of business and that is extremely misleading. Honestly blaming Biden or any politician is poor excuse. I wish him the best but this just goes to show you can’t believe everything you see on this KZbin. Lastly it way more in depth headwinds than president Biden( I didn’t vote for him) I hope all of the paper hands get out of the industry so when the dust settle the real players will remain

Rates have level out. The weak will dump their equipment and leave the industry which is great. Once war end, market stabilizes and ports open up in Shanghai the market will skyrocket again. The problem is the barrier entry will be much higher than it is now. That is the cost for having higher rates in the industry not to mention bigger carriers are not offloading their equipment( they are in acquisition model due to excessive profits aka they need write offs) . The person that control the equipment, driver or fuel in this industry always wins the game. Caring only about cashflow while not accumulating titles and ownership will always result in losing the game. This goes across all industry. Buy assets and allow time to hedge against inflation.

trucking its very profitable. You just have to invest in it and need drivers. Second contract freight is what keeps a company moving not the spot market. A 1 man operation could depend on the spot market 100% now a fleet could but needs some contract freight to keep at flow

Man, People are funny because how can someone base their lifestyle on who's the president. Ken V is a young man who doesn't understand how operate a business during the good times vs the bad times. What about the drivers u had working for u, just kicked them to the curve. Attention driver's never work for someone like this guy, do your research and work only with people who have a passion and respect for the trucking industry. It's been said time and time again, this isn't a job it's a lifestyle. I Salute all of the truckers who are successful during the good and bad times. @@KenVTRF I Respect your decision to quit trucking, but I can't Respect how you were talking negatively about the trucking industry. Every business has its high/low times, it's how u structure and prepare for those times that separate the successful people from the average people. You made statements like u will never drive a truck again, because you were miserable. Some of us actually enjoy trucking, watch some of the mid America truck show on KZbin. Being a trucker is so much bigger than just driving a truck. It's about the friendships u establish along this journey called life. It's about the sense of purpose a person has, from doing a job to the best of their abilities time and time again. No matter the time of day, the weather outside, the many sacrifices drivers/ owners have to make. I'm only 43yrs old, but I was taught by truckers who have been doing this for 40+ years.
