It's crazy to think that I only has my 2010 Nissan 370Z for 6-months... It's the shortest I've ever owned a car, but I definitely enjoyed my time with it! I'm even more excited for what's to come! Chances are I will have a new garage before I have the next garage update for you all. Lastly, I wanted to tell you all that I'm happy that we're 200 subscribers strong now on the channel. Stick with me though - I've got big plans in store for the channel!

Correct on the first point. 😅 Definitely sticking with the Corvette. I think I’ll take a break from German cars for a bit but it’s part of what they are. Lexus / Toyota doesn’t do it for me, I just don’t find them enjoyable to drive by comparison to their German counterparts.

Tyler Roicki yeah German cars do drive incredibly well, I’ve had a bunch including Audi’s, VW’s and BMW’s. My last BMW left a terrible taste in my mouth. It Was a high mileage X5 which I bought in July 2018 with 94k miles. Within eight long months I sunk nearly $2500 into it for front end repairs, leaking rear differential, frozen door lock, And that was with an extended warranty which I bought with the BMW. I couldn’t sell it privately, I had to trade it in and took about a 6K loss in April 2019 for my beautiful Lexus ES 350 with only 30K miles. Yes the ES is basically a straight line cruiser but that’s OK I’m saving up and waiting for a 2016 C7 stingray w. 7 speed manual !! I’ll have the best of both worlds, comfort and luxury in the Lexus ES and RAW performance with some great interior improvements over earlier Generations corvettes in the

Stephen DiBari That’s awesome that you moved on with the BMW with the goal of getting the right C7 in mind! I definitely understand why you’d opt to get a Lexus over the German alternatives. I’ve always had a love / hate sort of relationship with my German cars depending on whether they’re in the shop for something I didn’t expect or not lol. Thus far my C6 Z06 has been the most trouble free car I’ve ever owned which has me thinking a lot about driving it more in the time ahead (bought it with 37k miles July 2017 and it currently has 49k) could see myself putting the next 12k miles on it in a lot less time at this point. It’s really a good driving car, on top of the fact that it’s a blast to put the pedal down!

Tyler Roicki I hear you on the Love/hate Relationships on the German cars. My first was a new 2000 VW Passat, 4 cylinder turbo 5 speed manual.. loved the fit & finish, but after 3x returning it to the dealership within first 6 months of ownership for a faulty EPC I stuck it out and kept it for a few years, it was severely underpowered.. about 10 years later i bought a 2000 Passat wagon, 6 cylinder 5 speed manual... this one was terrific until the main computer stopped working with DMV’s and i couldn’t get an inspection, replacing the main CPU would’ve cost more than the car was worth which was about $1,800.. Kept that one for about 5 years and it was my best German car experience I had 2 Audi’s. 2005 A4 wagon 6 cylinder auto. (Bought in 2016) ... then in 2017 moved up to 2007 A6 Sedan auto, I didn’t keep either of these Audi’s long enough to really have any bad experiences... next was the Disastrous X5, bought in 2018 w 94k miles... My first ever SUV, i was excited about the fit & finish of this BMW, but unfortunately didn’t research this model in particular... Even the sales mgr of a dealership who only offered me $8k for it ( i walked out of that dealership FAST) told me after 5+ yrs and over 50k miles you have dump it fast. My philosophy is LEASE German / BUY Japanese

Stephen DiBari Yeah I’ll have to share more of my history with German cars in a future video. Through my experience though I’ve come to see that when you factor in maintenance cost & depreciation, in most scenarios leasing would be the way to go for a daily driver. The numbers look great on a used higher mileage car until you start adding up the maintenance cost and depreciation that will continue. Having said that, I actually had a great rather trouble free experience with a 2005 Audi A6 Quattro that I had for a little over 2 years and bought with 105k miles and sold with 148k miles. Surprisingly didn’t take much in the way of maintenance besides oil / filter changes every 5k miles and a couple of minor issues that were relatively inexpensive to address. It wasn’t a perfect car by any means - it had a handful of small flaws but it was a great workhorse and I didn’t lose much in the way on that one in terms of depreciation or maintenance cost. Also I had a 2008 335i coupe that was relatively inexpensive to own for me. I got lucky when the high pressure fuel pump failed on it and somehow managed to convince the dealer to take care of it for me even though it was out of warranty - due to an active service bulletin. I bought that one with 84k miles and sold it with 96k or so little more than a year later. It was a fun car too, especially with the 6-Speed and tune I had done to up the PSI by about 5 lbs. Aside from the $3,000+ service that the dealer covered for me, I had to replace the spark plugs and coil packs on it but that aside, it was pretty trouble free during the time I owned it! But I don’t think I’d want to own a twin turbo BMW North of 100k. Too many things that can go wrong beyond that point, would much rather have one with a warranty. The Porsche’s I’ve owned have all been some of the best driving cars I’ve experienced all around but you definitely need to set aside $2-3k per year for possible maintenance needs beyond the regular oil services, depending on how much you plan to drive. I think Import is definitely the way to go on a buy to minimize depreciation and maintenance costs. 👌🏼

I'd have to agree with Nissan and BMW... They're just not with the times on their styling at this point in time here in 2020... Haven't been a fan with the direction BMW has gone with their designs overall, I like how Mercedes-Benz is doing a lot better at this point. On the Corvette's, I haven't seen a C8 yet but I personally like what I've seen in pictures and videos with it. I do love the way the C6 and C7 Z06's / ZR1's look as well, for me the wider stance you get with the Z's over the regular variants is a must.
