A great deal for everyone - your client, you and Guy. Selling into the trade is often the best option: no commission, no come backs, instant pay-out. Thanks for sharing, David.

The two-tone is highly desirable. Some people prefer the pre-ceramic too

I’m beginning to prefer the bi colour model. Less of them around

I have a vintage Omega ladies - not in great condition and does not work - I know it is complete as a friend looked at it and I know now you need to find the number is it worth investigating

Yes it is, but it’s the gents watches that have really taken off. Omega, a super brand though. Speak to Guy

That was a very interesting video. Good commission, David! I loved the colour of the Rolex. I wear my Armani with great pleasure, but it's not in the Rolex price range!!

I have this same exact watch.. 1999 5 digit preceramic.. would love to sell to put towards the newest version of it.. I prefer the modern look and also something in mint condition

I have the same watch and it’s a “Swiss Only” Dial… quite rare and will only increase in value more than a normal Swiss made or Tritium Dials.. I think the dealer has actually done well here..

I’m starting to sell direct to dealers more and more these days especially if I have anything really good as the risk of getting ripped off on eBay by a buyer is ever present. Quite often I’ll tell the dealer exactly what I paid for an item and they are happy to pay me a good profit on top as they know that I’ll be straight back on the phone to them when I get another item in that suits their shop.
@DavidHarperAntiques2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely right, that works. Guy knew exactly how much I was making. He didn’t try to negotiate. The price worked for us all, so we just got on with it and we’ll do it again !

Technically not a full set as the Subs from that era should have a mini metal anchor too.

Selling something worth real money on eBay ... NO, just don't. Seventeen years' experience talking here. Never sell anything on line if you can't afford to lose the money and the merch. eBay does not protect the seller; neither does the payment method, who protects their client. Even if the client is a thief. I'd have resold locally too. My personal "gamer" is a circa 2000 Swiss Army on its third band. Resale pretty well the price of a new battery.

Guy will 100% sell for more than £9700 i am pretty confident you could of got more for your client if you would of made a few more costless phone calls !
@DavidHarperAntiques2 жыл бұрын
No, that’s what it’s worth and Guy will happily sell to you for £9700

I wouldn't go on Dickinsons real deal, some of those dealers haven't got a clue or they're trying to get something for nothing, so then you'll end up in the auction and they'll scim a lot of the top

Why would you not just buy one of rolex, ok you have to wait, but your getting a new watch and a lot cheaper
@DavidHarperAntiques2 жыл бұрын
That’s if you can even get on the waiting list. Try it, it’s almost impossible! But, owning a vintage one is also very desirable
@seiko_monster_legend2 жыл бұрын
Haha, you wont get one unless you have some previous watch buying history with an authorised dealer.

I don't believe you can't buy this specific watch anymore brand new, closest is a Sea-Dweller although they don't have that with that nice blue dial

@@jameswilson8820 Really James, i have purchase history and 4 other Rolex sports all from my AD and still had to wait 8 months for a bluesy, so go ahead please tell me how you get a new one from the AD straight away.
