I like this guy and the audio is crisp. I’ve played Tekken 3,5,5DR and 7. Stopped playing T7 because I was getting cooked and didn’t have time to practice. 2 years ago my brother showed me a T7 video on Twitter with people dodging. I picked up T7 and finally had time to practice. I practiced hard for 4 months a year ago and got to Emperor in T7. Now in T8 in I have 5 characters at Tekken King😭😭

Congrats man! Progressing through red ranks is definitely a feat to overcome. You’ve made awesome progress. I recently just got to blue after about a month and a half of playing and man I kind really wish I documented my progress also. Would’ve loved to see my first match compared to now. Looking forward to more tekken content man

The thing about Tekken is that it has a decently high skill floor. That's why it feels intimidating to new players. But it's been such a pleasure to follow you and learn from you on this journey to Shinryu (which is mad impressive for the first 100 games no matter what anyone says) and I hope we keep seeing some more Tekken content in the future.

After you CH with D2 dash up and use your electric then do B3 etc.. also try utilizing the heat smash while hold F4, you get a wall splat if landed and full wall combo or crazy plus frames if they block with their back against the wall

I think the difficulty in Tekken doesn't come from it being super hard to execute (besides some mishima characters maybe), but it comes from the complexity of what your opponents can do and how to counter it. It is really fun to play, once you allow yourself to try to problem solve and find effective counters to certain moves and strategies.

Do not get so caught up in just the rank. Improving by enhancing your mix-ups, punishing moves you previously didn't or learning more optimal combos are also great indicators of improvement.

13:25 When you get heat smashed like that, if the opponent moves even an inch, it can be countered. I main Azucena and I tend to play on the more aggressive side. Try playing more aggressively. Also PRACTICE. PRACTICE ALOT. Tekken isn't just about ranked.

Hello, I'm new to your channel and so far I am really enjoying your educational style of videos! However I noticed that some of your combos are not the most optimal (though they are still really good). For example at 15:01 when you did the double kick launcher, you instantly started off your combo with "back 3 stance 1" when you can actually add more damage by using the 3 kick (no movement inputs) then going about the usual combo route (or back 3 then the usual combo but it's not the most optimal but easier and still decent damage). At the end of the combo you used your heat smash which is fine but you didn't use it to wall splat which could've given you more damage by using "back down 2 2, 3". Other combo finishers to keep in mind are a delayed "Back 3 stance 1" and "whiling rising 1, brazilian kick (down forward 3 3) into demon eyes 1". On down 2 counter hits you can do a manual stance into demon eyes for a guaranteed EWHF (electric) to start off your combo, adds so much more damage. Also on down 2 you sometimes don't do much mix-ups. If the opponent eats a down 2 (non counter hit) you can mix him up with "while rising 2", "crouching down forward 4" and if they spam you after down 2 "while rising 1, 2" is your friend, its so op because you can even add more mix to it by either using stance to go into demon eyes then electric or you can just grab lol, or you can use an armor move by pressing 2 after stance or just go with the after stance 1, 2 string. Heck you can even do the Kazama style 6 hit combo redux after down 2. Also keep in mind after hitting down 2 the "while rising" motion is automatic, so you just need to press the buttons accordingly. Launching hits like double kick (ken ken), up forward 4, wavedash 1. You can start the combo after these hits with an EWHF (which is a little difficult) or start it out with the 3 kick. back 3 also works but it's not optimal damage. However if you launch with black wing rondo aka: (During Zenshin up 1) or ( the 1, 2, 1, string). You can only use back 3 to start the combo and not the 3 kick since it makes you whiff the combo... EWHF after black wing rondo is near impossible. It's fun watching you play since by the looks of it you put so much effort into learning gamesense, your poking game is really good, so is your punishing/counter hits. I'm 2 videos in your channel and I already learnt quite a few things, it's funny because I put so much time into learning mechanics and neglected gamesense, no wonder why I'm still Tenryu lol. Hopefully my explanation above is not confusing lol. Also a quick suggestion, maybe you should make a discord community so people can share their knowledge etc, I personally much rather share a clip of some of the combos I'm trying to explain instead of typing them out :c Anyways, keep up the good work! Can't wait to see you hit purple ranks and go even beyond that! Have a good day.

This game won't be hard for Enjin until he reaches the rank that forces him to lose often enough he can't progress for days. 100 games to Shinryu is on point with how fast it should go if you are destined to get stuck at Ruler ranks within the next 40 games (No game plan change). Ruler should be the point where sweating is normal with your current play style and strategy building. Here is how I classify rank based on my experiences and the community at large. Yellow Ranks and below: Beginner / Advanced Beginner Orange Ranks: Advanced Beginner / Novice Red Ranks: Novice / Intermediate Ruler Ranks: Intermediate / Advanced Blue Ranks: Expert Purple Ranks: Expert / Pro (Only 19,033 characters, does not exclude players with multiple characters.) Gold Ranks: Pro (Only 4,697 characters, does not exclude players with multiple characters.) God Of Destruction: Dedicated Pro (Only 1,632 characters, does not exclude players with multiple characters.)

Congrats on making it to shinryu! I hope we’ll see more gameplay from you. I made it to Battle Ruler recently with my main and I’m getting there with my other characters too. I noticed that purple ranks aren’t that much different except people can be even more aggressive and can actually break throws occasionally. At purple, there is an even greater emphasis on shutting down people’s bs. Since the changes they’ve made to matchmaking, my alternate characters have me going up against guys whose highest ranks are like bushin or tekken king. Still getting wins tho🥲

You have a lot of things going right for you. Combos is one thing that if you were a bit more crisp you could turn a lot of your losses into wins. Especially at the wall. Another thing is heat. Jin has one of the better Heat Smashes in the game, don't be shy on just throwing that shit out on random timings every round and force that 50/50. And as for the mental stack of looking at the movelists of characters. Bear in mind that most characters only utilize about 10% of those moves. So even if every characters has a hundred moves you only really have to know maybe 5 of them with each character :D Tekken 8 is pretty much 2D until blue ranks. I felt like, no one sidestepped in red ranks or purple. Which meant that you could get away with a lot of things that a better player would try to sidestep. If you're the one who knows when and how to sidestep you will have an advantage against the players who don't. All in all Tekken 8 is super addicting if you're just playing to get better and dont worry about arbitrary rank points. I personally think it's better than 7 and I played that shit a lot too. Extra nostalgia points for using dbz budokai soundtrack :D

Once you hit Red it is HARD. You feel like you've learned everything there is, and to move forward requires a lot of hard work and time. Don't underrate it.

@@mrjshzk It’s not being rude, it’s painting a full picture by providing valid context. Enjin knowingly made a provocative statement by saying Tekken is easy and did so for views. It is what it is, but I’m calling a spade a spade. I’m not downplaying his achievement. In fact, I respect his process and the way he approached the game to get to this point. I'm calling CAP on most intermediate players being in purple and blue. My friend took from launch to 2 days ago to finally reach Shinryu. I would call him an intermediate. My friend forced me to play ranked, I only played ranked for 5 hours and got to Shinryu. I don't know what to call myself but I know I've been playing tekken since Tekken 1. My friends that I play outside of ranked are rank anxious and thus playing someone high rank demotivates them so I tend to not play ranked in tekken 8. I do agree that this game won't be hard for Enjin until he reaches the rank that forces him to lose often enough he can't progress for days.
