You know how ageing improves instruments, nothing can beat a battered look sound wise. I'd try putting the pedals out in the rain and sun for a few days, then maybe use some coarse sandpaper and a torch for final touches.

I had a similar idea for a gag pedal called "The Emperor's New Tone." It was going to be a volume pedal, effectively, with the "tone improvement" just being a volume knob. I had two ways of thinking about it. Because I know how Fletcher-Munson curves work, I was thinking "tone improvement" could be a slight, nearly imperceptible bump in volume. But I was also thinking that it'd be hilarious to have the "tone improvement" knob drop the volume to send a subtle message! You should put these into production and sell them to studio owners.
