Just focus on server stability. Thats ALL I want at this point. No one wants to throw hours into playing/testing and lose everything over a GD server crash. AT LEAST fix it enough to have server recovery...THEN we can talk about something else.

Personally I think their priorities are misplaced most of the time tbh. I invested almost 4k into the project because I loved the flight model. It felt close to DCS so I liked it a ton. CIG proceeds to butcher the flight model and then admit that they didnt send it out in the best state as they had other priorities. Ive always been a shell for this project, bringing many people in. Hosting a ton of races with RSI cards i got with my own money. But when they constantly disrupt the community supporting them. It makes me question the project as a whole. When people ask me about this tech demo now, I tell them to stay away.

Right, My friend and I were on 3-4 hours a night racing snakepit. Then they ruined the flight model to fix jousting. Jousting is still a thing. But I no longer play 3-4 hours a day. Maybe an hour a week at best.

I can agree that CitizenCon this year was lacking in information on what we would get in any capacity beyond ships being worked on. Sure hope Base building and that new planet tech will be coming our way.

The reason why they are keeping us in the dark is because they are acknowledging that project creep has caught up to them in a very bad way and they are overwhelmed with both fixable and failed deliverables. Their project of delivering their ambitious claims is getting closer to what technology is offering and they are realizing that will prove a pain in the financial department. Now, I can't put money for something I am losing faith in. They need to deliver. They have to deliver or everyone and anyone associated with this tech demo will get severely ostracized.

that is factually incorrect. No Man's sky WAS a scam when they promised multiplayer, and then had to remake their game because players immediately proved their lies to be lies. There was another kickstarter mmo that stole millions of dollars from backers, only to cancel production of the game , and the ceo of the game company fled the country and disappeared with the money. 343 studios took over the Halo franchise promising a new halo experience, and with halo 5 gave us the modern day power rangers instead. I mean there's a ton of actual scams that far outweigh your negative feelings about this game... oh yeah! I almost forgot that one pirate game that was promised to be revolutionary and top of the line QUADRUPLE A game, then it turned out to be a pile of garbage that most people hated after playing it for like an hour...

lol it's an interesting point. But, seeing as we can calculate that about 30% of last year's dates were delivered, and that's with numerous delays, it's understandable. And possibly even quietly admitted, through the absence of a single release date. More importantly, the only thing that did get one was such a bummer that people's reactions may have made them take out any announcements, the following day lol PS - the SQ42 delay is the biggest deal, because it massively pulls back any expectation we can have for the PU, again. 3 years is not a polishing phase, it is Chris getting upset at things that were ready to go and reassigning vast amounts of dev teams to rework things, regardless :/

I share your frustration - Citizencon was all powerpoint slides and promises. Most of us do not want to play a game in 5 to 10 years we want to play now. Unfortunately CIG continues to over promise and under deliver and we continue to give them a pass. We are getting more coverage on the content that has been removed from 4.0 then some released games and no one is talking about the fact that 100 systems is now 5 . Where are we exploring with these mega ships. Now everyone is saying 4.0 is all about Server meshing nothing else is important but CIG continues to push ship sales and dynamic events to encourage new buyers but what is there left for those like yourself who have invested in a Polaris to do without the related gameplay and stability. Once the exitement of the new ship has passed - you will be looking for the related gameplay to support.The Challenge is CIG can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time - or maybe they can.

@@amalekedomite I originally came from Elite Dangerous because I loved the ship interiors in SC, but have since returned to Elite. There is something about being out in the black of space on your own exploring places no one has ever been before. I just picked up the new explorer ship in Elite and it is fantastic. Yes, I do not have the full Ship interiors in SC, but I also do not have the drama or the risk of nerfs, at a fraction of the cost of a ship in SC. Also, since Master modes, I prefer the flight model in Elite. I love the Star Trek Quote - Course heading, Captain? -Second star to the right and straight on till morning. - I can actually do this in Elite. As backers we have options. It is possible just not in SC.

Here's the harsh fact: CIG has been very ineffective with the time and capital they have had to build this game. Imagine CIG was not independent but owned by a bigger game developer company - which game dev company would be pleased with the state of Star Citizen after 12 years of development and $750m worth of capital? Not one.

A CEO with a track record of not being able to deliver stuff on time or in budget, 12 years of selling JPEG concepts, and an empty universe that's only as busy as those who RP and theorycraft "what it could be". They didn't even have the flight model to a space game nailed down after a decade. $750 million, and the tech debt is as clear as ever.

To put it in perspective: previous citcon we got info on stuff that are pretty much done and on its way into the PU, lots made it in but the big ticket items we still have some missing and what they did deliver was underwhelming to me. Not even to mention MM shit(yes im a hater). This year they showed stuff that is a wild jump and cant see this happening in 5 years......base building basics in 12 to 18 months? yeah right.

Yeah mate! CIG has been freeriding and milking us for cash for nearly 13 years now, and well, progress has been very slow...and at times very painful, like right now, were i feel the tech demo is becoming more and more unplayable for each patch, they throw into the PTU/PU! And now that EVOS can release their vids also, it is yes, eye candy fluff to watch them be at PYRO, but what a mess in relations to bugs, desyncs, server errors etc. Of course this is done to iron out worst things, before it hits the PTU, but still, we all know, that after that they just release into the PU and see how that is going right now! Looking forward You taking a trip to PYRO, and do not have any prefs, as I know you are good at exploring! and testing!! I can still get cracked up, by the vid you made, testing getting drunk and wend for some bunker missions! Epic! I am done and dusted getting hyped over CIG bla..bla...bla, as the talk allot but very little action in regard to fixing the game! Allot of eye candy fluff but not fixing the years old bugs, just adding new bugs on top of them! The only thing they always deliver is new ships/vehicles for sale for real life cash, and eye candy fluff marketing vids! Enough of the salt! You take care mate and looking forward to your next vid! No matter what word you use or mental gymnastic you perform, CR, Jared, and other devs said that these features WILL come to the game within the next 12 months. They put clear targets on their deliveries and failed to deliver remotely anything on time and only delivering about 60% what they said. I love this game and I understand its game development. Unpredictability in development is a core occurrence of creating a game. But we shouldn't be naive when they are over confident and claim that they will deliver said features at set timeframe and Quarter frames of the year and then fail to deliver on time or fail to deliver at all. I'm glad the citcon this year felt more or less tamed. They toned back on that overboard confidence and gave straight up information without putting a timeframe on every single feature they wanted to bring to the game...But considering what happened at Citcon last year and how nothing seemed to ramp up in production as they said it would. I find it hard to believe that anything they said this year will ever come to fruition within the next 5 years. I'd be damned if I didn't say I would be happy af if I was wrong...

Yeah I think citizen con, went right over people's head.. They didn't talk about anything coming up in the next year, because all that's going to be introduced during the weekly show and updates as it comes out in 2025, Citcon what's all about beyond pyro, 4.0 and 2025.. At least a good chunk of it. So of course, we're not going to know much about what's going on this coming year, other than the things that have been hinted at, or are going to be hinted at. We're most likely going to see the introduction to base building and crafting in its early stages.. We're most likely going to see the introduction to specialized armor. Component farming New gear farming Contested zones New missions New factions New reputation system Potentially even the new organization system New resources Obviously new ships New a I system Server meshing and dynamic server meshing... Yet, somehow people are confused about what's coming in 2025?

we will be getting nothing, from last year if we got 60% is already me being optimistic too much, now not showing proper delivery plan is seen as a statement they don't have a clue what when and if it could be done, realisticaly what they delivered is always cosmetics and little to no features unless it's bugged tier0... so we could probably expect something in this style.. which would be pretty rain or visual cosmetics like color skins for corps

ye, backer since 2013 and 2024 was the year i gave up, master modes, insane deemer nerfs, and just overall nerfs and dumdowns to everything but mostly its the now lame flight model.. i simply lost my trust to cig, tbh they seam to be going the woke ubi way. when they keep "fixing" stuff that works and replace it with lame broken stuff, you know the devs are clueless.. and i think the devs are just wokesters now, and the woke cant make good stuff.

This Citcon 2024 was a disrespectful 2 day play for even more time. I went on a 3 year hiatus from acknowledging SC existed, returning December 2022. I was willing to give CIG another chance, and I did, but i told myself they had until Citcon 2024 to show me genuine progress. Even Pyro will be years of development and updates, like Stanton lol. With the recent Ascendancy update to Elite Dangerous, I'm very happy to return to exploring the galaxy in the new Mandalay explorer.

Citcon this year did give us an idea of what SC is supposed to be eventually (currently lol). It at least told us speculatively what the end goal game should be. As for the next year? 4.3.18 is expected. Beyond 4.3.18, my expectation is 2 years of focus on movie 42. Maybe we will get the rest of 2023’s stuff and basebuilding. Im sure you’ll get your polaris within soontm, though what it will be used for or if it will be useable is speculative.

I think next year is just gonna be releasing Pyro and fixing it along with SM. If base building comes next year it will be Dec 31st. It will be another dead year for SC. At least that's my prediction... Oh and I cant forget, the 40 % of was not delivered this year from last year citcon will probably be implemented... So will progress be made. Yes. I think, it was good CIG showed us what they are aiming for with Star Citizen 1.0 Last year they hyped us with a ton of promises. 4.0 with servermeshing in the tird quarter of 2024, engineering, paro, fires, etc. But so far we got personel hangar and freight elevators which work more or less. I think its better for us, CIG is not promissing to much and focus more on getting server meshing work and the game improving.
