Unlikely. I believe this Lucio is level 181 which would give him ~120 - 180 hours of playtime. The game is pretty good at determining your skill level, especially so over time. When you're level 25 the game has a general idea what skill you're at. At level 75 it knows with better accuracy. At level 125 you should almost definitely be in the correct rank. Unless this player is literally throwing every game except the ones he records to send to Stylosa (which is hard to believe), this is his actual rank and skill.

As someone who is currently climbing out of bronze who just made it to gold, I think the biggest difference between bronze and higher elos is consistent positioning. Bc yea, Lucio played the character well mechanically in this game but he was regularly in suicidal positions that he would have otherwise been punished for in other ranks

I'm a Lucio main in Plat and most of the time I have gold heals above our main healer, it's all about staying alive and building up beat fast enough to prevent any grav/genji ult etc..

@@dj-piggy-2196 I don't see a bronze player in this footage. If you go back and look at the replay and watch from the perspective of any other player, you'll see bronze players. You're in bronze but you're not bronze skill level. I can see someone getting stuck in other ranks but essentially carried your team and you can probably do that in most of your matches. Not to mention your wins would award you huge bonuses based on how your performance while your losses would be minimal because you just have the stats to prove you're higher than bronze.

Just gonna say, learn to use cover, Sty is 100% right about jumping in that doorway being braindead. If I was on the other team (Ashe main, also stuck in bronze for some hundreds of hours) I would 100% have head shot you at least one of those times, (probably several if you kept it up), and then you're dead to any chip damage. If that Hanzo was any good he would have killed you at least once there. You can still use corners and cover even as Lucio, even as Lucio on a wall. I didn't see you backwards wallride ever (do you have the option turned on?) but forward-and-back at the edge lets you peek-shoot from the wall the way Soldier or McCree would peek-shoot on the ground.

This ends up being the fate of a lot of lucios. Our biggest value to the team isn't even measured. Speed boost is so important, especially in team fights. You have to be switching it up to make your team mates movement less predictable. You can mitigate so much damage that way. Also, sometimes as lucio your job is to be bait. If three guys are shooting and missing at me, that's more damage mitigation. Forcing a switch to counter me is another strength that can't be measured. And we hold points. But we do get tunnel vision.

There are three types of people in bronze, and only a minority of them are inexperienced players. There are those who are inexperienced or just plain bad. There are also those who are good, but MMR has them pegged as bad, and you can't prove it wrong, because you will lose more SR for losing a game than you will gain from winning, so you are sinking even when you are winning. But most of the people in bronze competitive are experienced players who are throwing half their games so they can stay in bronze, and grief the other players the other half of their games. Until all of these things are made widely known, by, let's say, a youtuber with a large following, Blizzard has no reason to address these things, because players who get frustrated with this just seem to buy another copy of the game.

It's easy to spot someone that's legit a bronze player. They have little game sense and just make decisions that make you scratch your head, are mechanically poor, and/or just don't have any understanding of the game. This player is none of those. This reminds me of that Baptiste player that was on bronze spectator not too long ago that was rolling the other team. These people are indeed playing in bronze, but skill-wise bronze players they are not.

I fully believe he's bronze. I've climbed from bronze to diamond on all roles and on support I stayed in bronze for about 2 ranks too long. This probably is his best ever game - because there were actually team fights. Nobody groups up down there. Every loss I had was just people walking out of spawn into 2 shields and a bastion/symmetra. (Symmetra is in about 75% of the games) Nothing u can do in that situation as a support. Ur ult doesn't teamwipe. If they die slow they win cuz of tp. In fact it's worse if they die slow bc then ur team thinks they can win and keeps feeding for scattered picks that come back in 10 seconds. Good luck to this guy. My advice is to use comms or to play a support that can kill a lot of people quickly (Bap, zen, Ana) I only got out of bronze once I could crap on everybody. Then the climb from gold to diamond felt like free sr.

Console players come from a group that have played or do play games like halo, cod,bf, and other shooters where they think they can carry and the game doesn't have many actual mechanics going on. For example Kim not sure a good portion of console overwatch players even in know what immortality field does. They yell at my firnd for.picking Baptiste when he's arguable the best character in the game

From a PC tank main's perspective who climbed from 1600 to 2600 ana in support role with less than 80 hours on her and support as a whole, I now sympathize with the ana's that supported me a while back when I was in lower rank. It seems like most tanks below plat will dive to Narnia where no support could possibly heal, spam need heals as they put themselves behind every inanimate object on the map, and then blame heals for being bad. That, or they will play Dva and stand in the middle of the lane ad/ad spamming until all your support resources have dried up two times over and die - of course flaming the heals. It made me realize that to climb in low elo as support, you need to do much more than heal bot. As for my main role, it taught me to respect what our healers go through to keep us alive, and the patience they have to keep healing us tanks through our flaming, even though it is bright and clear to them that we totally suck.

If you ask me the other reasons are team mate making terrible decisions. Who as a reaper teleports near the one area you can fall and die? That and the offensive Winston while entire team is busy fighting at gate. Oh and the Anna at the start on the bridge in enemy spawn getting caught by tracer. Those just might be a couple examples of other people's team play ruining your comp score.

sorry but that first Ana play sums up Overwatch ranked - what hope do any of those team members have of winning the game if they're 5v6 😂. It's just a 50/50 as to which team has the thrower/new player and therefore loses (unless someone carries hard)

I’ve recently gotten a better computer and 144hz moniter. I’ve been working on digging out of the rut caused by 40 FPS and every game on tank I have 3-4 golds. I usually main sigma and average 10k dmg per 10 mins. Last game was a 14 min game where I dropped 53 elims and 19k dmg. But I went on a massive losing streak and only started winning when I played with my friend who is a silver dps. Should I just keep playing? Or is there something else I should do?

Sometimes it really sucks playing on console, I've got overwatch on Xbox, PC and playstation and console is just full of smurfs and boosted players that you never really know what rank everyone actually is. There are always LFG dedicated to throwing down to bronze and people selling low level accounts. Basically the game comes down to who has the better Smurf. It would be nice to see this improved on but sadly I don't think that would ever happen.

@@alastairp yeah lol i just learned about the lucio surf league and my wallriding is wayyy better now as they gave me tips, my best run on busan downtown is less that 0.1ms off wr whereas it used to be like 0.7 off, but tbh the runs quite bad, it just sounds good when i say its close to wr, learning the wallride mechanics are the easy parts (im talking beginner stuff like binding jump to scroll wheel and learning it) but what gets hard is using it in game, as lucio surf and in game are two different things, you need to be able to get back from spawn quick, which involves many doorways, and lucio surf just needs you to wallride well for under 15 seconds, while ingame you need to be consistent for like up to 25 minutes, and it took me weeks to learn even scroll wheel properly, let alone utilising it in game. you also need to know how to use it in fights. my point is, wallriding properly is very hard.

@@dj-piggy-2196 I'm guessing that's something like 20% of damage taken. Try getting upwards of 30-40% of damage taken consistently, and you'll start climbing. Redditing around is all well and good, but you're a support first and foremost. Amp:ing to hit as many people as possible is key to getting high numbers as Lucio. You're an aura healer; don't waste it. Do save people, of course, but try to not Amp for one person if you can hit two or more. Try to leave the spot-heals to the specialists. Gold medal doesn't mean very much, if your percentage healed is low. It just means the other healer was bad. If you play a healer and your team keeps dying because you're focusing on bouncing around the walls and booping people, you're not doing your job. Sorry if I sound harsh. It's not personal; it's just general advice. This is basic stuff, and I hope and think you know most, if not all, already. However at Bronze and Silver, basics is what you should focus on. By the time you climb to Gold, those basics will be second nature and you'll be doing them without thinking. Then you can go to town and jump around as much as you like. You'll instinctively know when it's time to dial it back.

@@heavycritic9554 yeah i just learned a lot of this by someone who offered to vod review me as they were new to coaching and yeah i should amp heals more, i also joined a lucio surf discord and am setting some much better rollout times (by one or two seconds) so my wallrides have improved a lottt meaning i have wallriding down (or good enough for comp) and now i can just learn the rest, hopefully then i can get out. new season soon hopefully that means a new rank. maybe

@@seanjohnston565 im the lucio in the vid and after getting coaching from sty and other people (ranked gm) i am actually starting to move up, i peaked 1040 a couple days ago and after joining a lucio surf discord i learnt wallriding properly and have got some decent times, not only that but when i peaked 1040 sr i went from like 800 flat to that sr which was like a 240 sr difference, so im actually starting to get out

Omg I really had to bear down and play super focused to get back to gold with Lucio. I literally had gold healing 85% of the time The pont is you CAN dominate a team oriented with Lucio if you really want to.

@@dj-piggy-2196 You were quite good. I'd say there is no way you'll be in bronze forever. My advice - team up with a team that's got some chemistry and ride the win streak. provided you're one of the best players in that group once you guys split it'll be a lot easier to grab more wins as you get closer to silver on your own. Just a few weeks ago I was 1600 got with a team and got to about 1825 and I'm at about 2100 now just solo queing now. Sometimes down elo it's difficult to find any team your play style will mesh with.

Lol I'm bronze lucio and I play like this. Problem is I only play zen and lucio. Lucio and zen don't do enough heals and the other healer is usually a mercy (most popular pick in bronze) so my team usually just dies fast and we lose

1 Tip for Zen. Try to eliminate or weaken the hero that the enemy teams play. That will easyle kill you. Ex. They play a Winston and before he dives you. Try to weaken him. So if he is at 50% hp and goes for the dive. You have an easyer time to kill him. If they have a tracer.... Good luck.

Seeing names I know in game. So I will say this, this is not her best game. Not even close, if anything she fell from grace in this. Yeah and multiple years bronze at this skill level. She is better at junk, gold junkrat. I am autistic, I know when I see the person I mimic the playstyle of. I am also going to say this player would be one of the best you could help. She trained me herself and I have climbed to gold and diamond at respective times. I know that play style and the most I can say is she seems to have lost faith in herself? I don't know but assuming she reads this, she wont reply. Be confident. We may not be friends any more but have faith in yourself.

Sometimes you these lucios in bronze and i can do this wallride but - the server or my connection is bad or whatever -You see these guys in bronze -i guess the bad issue is bad aim and dying and then just choose the healer that doesnt work in that configuration -and what a is see are a soloing lucio and when i see one in bronze it means usually a loss for the team who has one lucio wallrider going solo
