Blizzard is not panicking. Bobby Kotick understood that he was causing the death of Blizzard, but it didn't matter because he was getting short-term profit increases, and that's the only thing shareholders give a damn about. They aren't trying to win back customers, they know that the inevitable end result is going to be Blizzard closing its doors forever. They are just trying to milk the remaining customers for as much money as they can before they go out of business. They aren't trying to save the company, this is damage mitigation while the company collapses into a cauldron of enshitification.

You can debate that valorant has better designs. Especially overwatch newer characters which are complete garbage. But you’re right about Apex. They’re the bottom of the barrel and the worse character designs in the industry. Concord level bad and I’m surprised that anyone even still plays that game to be honest.

Almost everyone is having a lot more fun with 6v6 me included. Its still wild blizz was saying "we see you guys like this but we dont know yet because we'd need to redo some tjings and kits" basically whining "but thats more worrrrrrk"

idk man Tanking is my favourite role by far you saying hulk is the worst tank when rank 1 player is currently maining him is crazy and yeah. Tanking isn’t boring when you have two tanks the reason tanking sucks in overwatch it’s because you’re alone and the entire responsibility of tanking comes down to a single player I mean every role can do damage so they have the easiest load and support well the same issue applies when you solo support all you do is monitor your team and it ain’t fun at all. plus Captain america plays more like a bulky duelist than a tank asking someone who plays him to solo tank is delusional and will kill the game for any tank player the way overwatch did. My point is I don’t think we should place role queue and if we just copy things from overwatch we’ll end up in the same place as it is today. And personally I’ve been a tank main in like every hero shooter I’ve played like paladins overwatch now rivals even in games like warframe I tend to gravitate towards tankier frames and since 5v5 overwatch has just been tho most unfun thing as tank like you get no freedom.

A slower pace game isnt a bad thing

I personally think a 6v6 game shifting to slower pace is good, you literally have mfkers running and scrambling for some stupid kills when its not even worth it when they decided to die off due to positioning. Then they would ignore the objective chasing after players 🙄.

6v6 feels so much better man. It's wild how less shit it feels to play tank.

My friends and I played 6 games of it the other night. We only lost the first because of the rust we needed to shake off. After that we clicked right back into place like the old days and steam rolled 5 games in a row

I only played Overwatch 2 but playing 6v6 is so much fun. I wish it was the normal gamemode. i played all roles and they all felt really good.

I think the most impressive thing this game does is not make you feel like youre playing as cheesy superheroes, for hardcore gamers who like grittier stuff. Like. Wolverine is fucking voiced by Dempsey from BO3 zombies.That's so bad ass. And yet its able to give you a good excuse to drag friends that dont game much into it.

while i enjoy playing rivals, it still won't become my "main" hero shooter. it still has some rough edges, balancing issues and missing some of the polish Overwatch has gotten over all those years. and the single best thing OW has done was introducing role queue. And that is something that is the biggest issue for me that I can't enjoy the game as much as OW. nevertheless I am happy that OW got some serious competition, and I have to agree with Sty here, that is the best for us gamers that we get better products.

Hearing you talk about high level gameplay as you put 16,000 shots into Magneto ultimate in the background gameplay really lost you some legitimacy LMFAO

Really awesome list. I’d agree with about 95% of it. My only gripes are punisher and star lord need to be A tier since they’re just solid damage. You really can’t screw them up. Very easy to play, hit scan guns, very good ults. Squirrel girl being C tier is also criminal. She doesn’t have a lot going on but frankly she doesn’t need it. You can lob grenades at the enemy team for solid damage if you can’t aim and she can easily burst down a duelist with direct hits. Her stun is also very good. I’d say she deserves A tier as well.

I’d start playing OW again if they went back to 6v6

I don't really agree that support is "more stressful" in 6v6 but I understand your point about that. Thing is, the fact that you have more people you need to heal means you have more interesting decisions to make! Also people have complained that supports heal too much since Overwatch 2 came out. So the fact that heals become split between more players helps with that issue as well. If you are one of the support players who really wants to just play dps but flexes into the support role, THEN I can see the issue. Because you have less time to focus on shooting the enemy. Personally tho, I am someone who plays support in pretty much every multiplayer game I can because I enjoy that playstyle. I LIKE facilitating my team's ability to pop off extra hard. It's why I also play tank sometimes because I enjoy making space for my team so they have the chance to make better plays. So if there are fewer opportunities for me to shoot the enemy as a support, I personally don't see that as much of a loss.

The idea I've had for years that will never happen: More specific roles to choose from, and then two teams with identical roles are matched together. Maybe some maps only work for certain role comps. Maybe Supports get a choice to not play solo support. To keep Soldier from being OP in a zero support comp, maybe he's in a role where everyone has a small off-healer ability. But the biggest problem the game will always have is that it would be far more fun to only play it with your friends, but 5/6 stacking is OP, so they made it impossible. (I haven't played since OW1, so disregard the old man yelling at clouds.)

Don't think I have forgotten that you were one of the proponents of begging for an Overwatch 2 when I would call you out saying it doesn't need it. Now look at everything that sequel has brought. I uninstalled OW/2 and Battlenet both because of the blatant disregard and disrespect Blizzard awarded after my time spent on OW1 and how I barely received an ounce of my achievements for moving over. It was a mistake. You cannot ask for a sequel expecting to fix your original games problems. Look at Warframe. Hell, up until recently SMITE was doing so well as just being a single product that has evolved. This COD-trauma mentality doesn't solve anything, OW2 didn't need to happen and should not have - Blizzard got greedy so in turn, screw them.

As an off-tank Zarya/Dva player in ow1 I really enjoyed playing the 6v6 tests. I have tried to tank in ow2 5v5 but i hardly ever got through my placement matches before I lost my will. Yes the queue times may suffer, but let's not act like the queue times are any better in ow2 than they were in ow1 - and that despite taking a tank out. The one tank only forced many off-tank players onto dps or support. Maybe it is the nostalgia in me talking, but i hardly had as much fun tanking in ow2 than i had during the 6v6 event. and it helped newer abilities feel better too, like the good ol suzu everyone hates. Because they have to play around another cooldown and ult. It makes the strong abilities into... more just abilities rather than op get out of jail cards.

Hulk being high up is pretty obvious based on what I just saw when I checked. The top win rates are Iron Man, Wolverine, and then Hulk now. Then factor in that Dr Strange is seen as the best Vanguard in the game at the moment. He has versatile team ups, and that is combined with a lower percentage of players learning and mastering him which I bet also helps his winrate ironically as less people will use him in low ranks due to original opinions being that he was a bad Vanguard.

I kinda agree. I started playing after OW2 came out so I dont have that "nostalgia" factor. I was afraid they'll bring back 6v6 at first but after trying the play test. Damn it's so good and refreshing.

Can’t wait for a Marvel Rivals PVE and a campaign and story mode! Hope it comes out faster than OW’s! Which won’t happen! lol! Maybe they should start working on it To Try and salvage themselves.

I don't understand the "tanks are boring" mentality. If the hero's kit is fun, it's fun. Like Peni is really fun to play. Dr Strange is really fun to play.

I really hope they never get role lock. Ever. I want to go between strategist, tank, and duelist freely within the game. Screw metas.

All Blizzard had to do was not remove 6v6 and not cancel PvE. Blizzard got in their own way.

i have 3 things to say 1 i play sombra and tbh she is more fun in 6v6 and i think olso more balenced like you sead with the extra target and less dmg incoming etc 2 i dont mind q times, the fact that in ow1 i had to wait like 10 to 15 min gave me time to chill after a bad game or to come up with a solution to what i did wrong etc 3 the only reason i play more dps in ow1 was that there wer more hero's to select from now in ow2 i started to play tank as well becouse there is more veriety but i dont keep playing it becouse 5v5 just sucks to play tank in i olso play support but thats becouse i am a support player in most games i played before ow

Great news finally, every time I attempt to play overwatch 2, I'm reminded just how poor it is. Modelled after fornite, simulated pay to win. This isn't overwatch, this is activiison, and activision is a cancer like no other. I hope they go out of business quickly for what they've done to gaming.

Full cross play would help. Queue times for Aus PC players has gone to shit....
