Whenever I get someone who throws as Hog, I switch to Zarya. Even if they try to feed, I get damage charges. At least I can return fire for the team. Ive just recently started playing Rein to try and get better at him, only in QP for now. But after watching you for a while, one of the main things I've learned, is to hold the shatter until I know shields are down so its not wasted and not pop it as soon as i get it..

You dont always have to hold shatter for shields to break. Try and catch the other team off guard or take a quick flank around and then slam

It really comes down to how fast you can process the immediate situation. If you have ES and you're facing an enemy Rein, every opening is a window ready to shut because a lot of Rein's will keep redeploying their shields as soon as they can. My personal favorite is acting scared because I know they have Shatter, and then when they come in swinging to try and slam beyond my shield, get them with an UNO reverse card lol.

I think the most helpful shatter tip I learned was to not worry about the massive six man slams as much. If you can safely get a single pick because an enemy shield doesn’t cover them take it and force the 5v6

remember kids- if you aren't getting healed, always remember to keep an eye on the killfeed or an ear for the backline. very rare is the person who picks support and goes "yes, I'd rather not heal this game."

7:40 ok so as a hog and torb main, I can say that losing a 1v1 to a torb as hog is not difficult, torbs shotgun deals SO much more damage, especially on his overload and his overload also prevents him from taking massive damage to the hog thanks to the extra armor. Torb is a menace. Other than that, that whole 1v1 was a special class of bronze on its own.

Scrap gun’s spread is massive, and in a rank where proper aim techniques are foreign concepts, that means much less consistent high damage spikes compared to torb’s and ofc based on that, hog has to be closer to get full value out of his shots against a smaller hitbox. Torb can be further away (with Overload’s movement speed bonus) and can aim at hog’s gigantic hitbox

@@realchiknuggets you also gotta realize, blizzard only cares about patches that affect gm and t500 players, they don't care about 99% of the rest of the players. In those ranks hog isn't very good because double shield meta is basically always being played, take away the double shield though, and hog brainlessly makes his way up the ranks. He's too easy for this damage output and pick potential. He's immeasurably unhealthy for the game.

lol yeah same here. it also surprises me how high rank players will often say they've "never played" or "never even touched" a certain hero. my career profile used to look like a damn rainbow with the spread out time I put into several heroes at a time (which is to say I've put a lot of time into every hero; not that I was too focused on competing on any of them on a high level)

yeah, if you're already in the air then you only get 1 midair jump. Also for moira, the fade jump while falling only works if you're falling against an incline, and only sometimes, it's weird. I was surprised flats didn't know about the genji thing
