the submitter is right when he said he made some stupid mistakes. however he's not the worst rein ever and made some pretty nice plays especially on the first point and it's obvious he's working on honing his prediction skills - not perfect, but had some good-for-bronze fire strike and pin predictions. he seems to fluctuate between having good moments and bad moments, but a lot of those bad moments are just your average bronze player moments. he definitely does need to work on balancing the difference between confidence and cockiness because his good plays do become a problem for his later decision making. i imagine flats is being extra harsh because of the name.
@morbiuslikeslean42013 жыл бұрын
Flats was being mad harsh cause of the name, he expected him to do things that bronzes didn’t even knew existed. And on first point he said he gave up space when he was like 90hp vs 3 when all he did was back up get healing and go back in.
@6235river3 жыл бұрын
@@morbiuslikeslean4201 and in situations like that, flats' assessment of whether a person goes in or back up is either "too aggressive: they're feeding" or "not aggressive enough: they're being a baby back bitch". i know this is meant to be a roast but flats IS in the position to offer some tips like the submitter asked, and i think outlining the difference between what makes someone a feeder and what makes someone a coward would be a really good thing for flats to clarify since he comments on it for every rein who submits a vod. :)

I truly believe this guy will get gold in no time with some tips, his gamesense is higher then 90% of the silver tanks bare minimum he plays proactive, yes gets carried away but we all do sometimes playing rein. I rather see my rein do 500 DMG then die then shieldbot and do 0 dmg entire game long and then die. It's easier to tone down the aggression then to learn how to play agressieve. This guy seems to truely understand that as s rein your relying on your team allot, given that's in bronze GL, go make plays yourself. And he did literally first time ever I have seen a bronze let alone silver rein and allot of gold reins clear highground away from a bastion. The point where he knew the sigma was there you also saw him realize this mercy Res him, heal him or fly away. Better kill him first. Surprised flats didn't mention that.
@6235river3 жыл бұрын
@@Siks7Ate9 yeah i was also impressed by him prioritizing the mercy before trying to have a Tank Dick Measuring contest with sigma. foresight like this is regular as the elos get higher and higher, but it's always nice to see someone in bronze who is actually using some sort of elevated strategy. it's a nice change of pace from the usual braindead "pew pew shoot at enemy until they die or i die" strategy... well, unless you're a bronze bastion i suppose. that strategy actually works out for bastions.

I definitely appreciate most of the comment sections vibes. I think the idea of people paying to get flamed is interesting and those who sign up for it are mentally tough as nails, but I also feel like just because that's the common schtick of the series doesn't mean that has to be every video. Compared to every other bronze rein and I think a silver rein you spectated once (at least that made it to a KZbin video) this person plays rather well for a bronze player. They make some mechanical mistakes like missing, hitting walls, and walking into walls, but I don't think those should be criticized so much, either. I think a lot of us have played video games for 10+ years and forget what it may be like to walk into them without any foreknowledge, or what it's like to walk into a new genre, even. All of the movements are so different from one game to the next, let alone genre, and all that in addition to getting used to a controller or M&K setup. Most of their biggest mistakes decision-making wise were about where they held, who they went for, and when/where to pin. For being a zero star bronze account, that's not all that bad. I can recall in that period of existence being in the same boat, probably worse than them, even. I got the long end of the stick and somehow ended up in gold, but I was plummeting fast until I found your stream and videos and started implementing your techniques and decision making into my games, where I've peaked mid plat on tank, and this is my first FPS game ever. My point in sharing that story is that a lot of these concepts that seem so elementary to you aren't so instinctive for people new to the game, which, barring this person being a smurf, they are. But even of the mistakes they made, the decision making mistakes we normally see in these bronze vods are whether to hard hold shield or hardswing until the fight's over, whether to pin into a bastion that's looking directly at you or hard shield towards him. And they've almost always held on point no matter where it is or what it is. I want to compare this review to the one who got the game because of you and sent a vod of their first game. They made a ton more mistakes than this person, and I mean a TON. They came into the game with only knowledge from a pro, but no experience, almost identical to this person, yet they were praised heavily for not only when what they did worked but for when they made an effort that didn't pan out. Your energy seemed to shift either because this person is bronze or because they took on your name for their account or whatever, but I don't think that justifies this shift in energy. Technically they're not a fresh account but level 71 can be achieved with about 10 hours of game time, and you have to consider the brain lag of trying to take in all of their surroundings when they start playing, plus (at least in my experience) the first ten multiplayer matches I'm basically a walking grave, not having any idea how to strategize in the game yet or what can kill me, being in a respawn simulator situation. All that considered, they're really new to the game. The first nano was bad target priority; a mistake, no doubt. But honestly, what were they even to do with that second nano? Their ana gave it to them when nobody was even around except for the sigma which they tried to walk up to. I don't think that criticism was necessary at all. They've made a lot of attempts to replicate what you've done, and I'm rather disappointed that you didn't give them the same attention for it that you gave the person who was on their first game ever. I also want to touch on your reading their message in discord: They clarified they're German and at least implied that English isn't their first language. It takes zero effort to be a little understanding and not xenophobic. Understanding of English is both a country-of-origin and access-to-education thing and I feel like it's a little insensitive to be so rude about a statement that doesn't make sense to you. This case wasn't so bad but this happens any time someone says something in little or broken English in these submits and it drives me wild.

this is an excellent and wonderful comment. it reminded me of the time when I started playing this game. it was also my first fps ever, and it was overwhelming. I've actually been having to take a break due to medical issues that make staring at a screen with flashing lights and colors incredibly painful lol. but when I am able to play a match or two every month or so, it's almost like being new. the game moves so fast, and being a player is so much different than watching streams and videos of games. people forget that this is a hard game. it's a very unique game. even if you come in with fps experience, this game emphasizes teamwork and rewards awareness and strategy rather than pure aim. if you don't even have aim, you're having to learn three main, extremely fundamental skills at the same time. you'll be floundering for a WHILE. not to mention, this was my first mouse and keyboard game, too. it's so hard to get used to mouse and keyboard if all you've ever played is console. it feels like you're using a completely different part of your brain somehow. TLDR you're right about everything here 💖

This is everything I thought while watching this video. I do think flats has good content and is a great tank, but he always refers to his viewers in a very dismissive tone as “golds” as if it were an offence. He’s a streamer that has been playing this game for more than 6 years and doesn’t really understand that not all of us can do that and have work and a life to attend to, in order to give ourselves that little time we use to play, as a hobby. So playing a game for more than 6 years more than 12 hours a day, can’t be compared nor used like a point of superiority towards the viewers that allow him to take this as a professional career. Yes, I understand this segment is supposed to be roasting and all of that but it’s becoming more and more clear what he thinks of his viewers and the ego that’s been building up through his twitch and KZbin career. I hope he understands these attitudes he’s having towards his fans, cause this guy is literally a fan that wants to be like the person he admires, shouldn’t be part of his itinerary. I never comment on videos but this just was enough for me. Reading your comment made me want to express the same frustration and concern, specially being a non native English speaker. It really annoys me and feels disrespectful making fun of someone just because they don’t perfectly speak a second language, when I’m pretty sure flats doesn’t speak a second nor third language. These type of behaviours really make him seem like an ignorant, egotistical disrespectful person who doesn’t really appreciate his viewers, whom without them he would not be where he is right now. I’m not as polite as you are, and I’m very disappointed in flats. Seems like for him, someone carrying his name out of pure admiration, disgusts him. And that disgusts me. I do really hope he changes or reconsiders the repercussions attitudes like this could cause him before it’s too late.

@@julianarincon2625 I definitely believe that it's gotten progressively worse and it certainly does seem like an ego thing. I want to express complete support with someone expressing more outrage than I did; While these things are upsetting to me, English is my native language, so I don't have the experience of someone whose native language isn't English to be personally affected by it. I also don't mean to imply that you need my support in it, I simply feel that there's a lot of gaslighting passed around from privileged people towards those who are not, insomuch that politeness is valued over experience, and I want to express that I value your experience on this subject much more than any perceived amicability.

P.s. flats too cruel indeed, the guy is playing in bronze not in diamond.

@charleshaines97153 жыл бұрын
Don't tell bronzes to not play that choke. If they don't everyone else on their team WILL NOT cooperate with them and then they will flame the Rein for being dumb. I will say that you definitely should not push past that choke. I've tried to convince bronze, silvers, even gold players to not hold at that choke and it is not very often that I get a group that won't say I'm stupid.

@@michaelpurdon7032 Stop listening to who? The rest of your team? It doesn't matter if your strategy is better if the team refuses to do it. There's no way a tank with no team can carry the team out of bronze.

@@charleshaines9715 Worked for me. Be consistently doing the right things and more often than not your team will just follow you around. Doesn't mean you can always play out of the best possible place but for sure stay away from the worst possible places. Otherwise you are just bronze and aren't going to climb

Watching a Jayne stream he once said it's better to do the right thing even if you lose the game then turn the wrong plays into habits to win. So sometimes you just gotta mute everyone and do the right thing.
@charleshaines97153 жыл бұрын
@@mattiOTX And lose again and again. So sorry I disagree. It's better to work with your team even if what they want to do is sub optimal. It's not your job to convince them in a single game that you are right. Because you won't be able to do that. All you will be doing is your own thing, and then not working with everyone else.
