Watching the two modders interact with each other and figure out the other was also modding brought back some memories. Not long after GTA Online was release, I decided that the grind wasn't worth it, so I found some mods to help me stay alive and get massive amounts of money. While playing one night, I came across another player, whom I also found out had god mode and various other tweaks similar to mine (nothing like what modders are doing now, just simple money and XP multipliers). We spent roughly around 6 hours, in the Tataviam Mountains, beating each other up and just trying to figure out ways around our God mode. That was in December of 2013, he is my best friend to this day.

Two things I learned are 1. Reporting rarely does anything and modders can see when you reported them in-game so -> 2. It's better to report them via rockstar's website. This way they won't target you for reporting them.

i've always thought modders as just a bit of nuance, since if they were greifing me i could just exit the session. but few days earlier a modder, out of nowhere, accused me of modding, calling me names and stuff. i knew they were modding since they just sorta appeared on top of my deluxo, hovering over the ocean. i guess they wanted to do toxic stuff and pin them on me, and the worst part was it seemed to be working. idk why people were so suggestible, but like at least 3 people just started to call me names. i reported the modder, and right away they called on me for reporting - i think this only further proves that they were modding. how else would they know? anyways it had been short but very upsetting experience. i always try to play public session since i enjoy interacting with "good" players, and it obviously shouldn't be player's responsibility to stay out of modders and other kinds of toxic players.
