For anyone wondering why 1.17 is so much harder to speedrun than 1.16, here's why. The version speedrunners play on in the 1.16 category is actually 1.16.1 because piglins give significantly more pearls than the other 1.16 versions. 1.17 shares the rates with the other 1.16 versions (gives less pearls). Illumina actually got quite lucky in this run with pearl trades; you can easily burn through many stacks of gold ingots without getting enough pearls. Hope this helps!
