The video shown at the start of the war : 4:20 :was taken by the Ukrainian "Cyborg" Battalion comprised of the 3rd Special Purpose Regiment, 79th, 80th, 81st, 95th Air Assault Brigade, and 93rd Mechanized Brigade, 57th Motorized Brigade, 90th Airmobile Battalion, and 74th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion, and fighters of the Dnipro-1 regiment. During the Second Battle for Donetsk airport. It was them singing the national anthem, and insulting the Russians and Putin, then shooting at the separatists, the Cyborg battalion has reached a folk hero status in Ukraine with the famous line of "Cyborgs withstood, concrete could not withstand". While the Cyborgs would loose and surrender it denied an easy victory to the Russians and Separatists. The Airport is still unfortunately in Separatist and Russian hands. It is important to remember that prior to late 2014* and 2022 Ukraine did not have much if any help to fight the Separatists, along with the fact they were disorganized and were suffering from soviet era levels of corruption. *1 Us did send a 1billion USD aid package in 2014 and 1.5B during the mid 2010's.

Yeah it's way harder. Also depending on hard you push UKR as RU you can force Zelensky to surrender early (which was going to happen before Western intervention) or you can hold out and extend the war as Ukraine etc. But overall the second start is way harder as Russia if anything. UKR gets free units

@@Aaron067 Yeah I cooped Ukraine with a friend and Russia is ridiculously buffed now in the new update, we couldn't hold them at all even on normal preset from the event

@@monkeyman2074 100%. I somehow managed to cap the separatist states by 2017 but I got rolled thru even when I had like lvl 5 forts on each tile just ahead of the dnipro. It is a fun mod tho, just don't like how as Ukraine you probably can never train (at least I couldn't) and deploy a full army of your templates by invasion time, but guess it's realistic in that sense
