Despite being a 10+ Years Old Version of the game, Alpha still remains to be one of the HARDEST and most BRUTAL versions of the game. With only a limited number of blocks, a different health system, NO BEDS to sleep away the night, and the introduction of the Nether; Minecraft Alpha 1.2.6 is EXTREMELY difficult to survive in. I spent 100 Days in Old Minecraft (Alpha 1.2.6) and built mega structures like a Nether Island, a Pre 1.14 Village, a Lighthouse, a Castle, A Planet, and A Railway/Monorail.

I love how much fun it looks like you are having with this older version of minecraft. I saw another '100 days in minecraft alpha' where the dude was complaining the whole time about how plain and empty it was. But you are just being creative and having fun building all kinds of stuff. You are the positivity that we all need.

I think I know what video you're talking about - but yeah I grew up playing these versions and even play them in my own time from time to time when I'm feeling nostalgic. I absolutely love old Minecraft versions and I think the limited block palette forces you to be extra creative in how you build stuff; it definitely not something to complain about imo! For those curious, Alpha 1.2.3 had leaf decay but A1.2.3_01 disabled it due to an infinite loop bug that crashed the game when leaves decayed outside of a few chunks of the player. Fire can still deal with the leaves, however leaving fire burning for to long or leaving the area can cause the blocks to burn forever until broken, probably from the buggy firespread. 1.2.6 didn't really add much to the game besides lakes and lava pools. Its fun to play these old versions

honestly. something cool i've seen no one do when it comes to 100 days videos for the old minecraft versions (pre adventure update) are the mods people have made like Better than Adventure, Reindev, Indev+ (a indev mod), Better than Wolves, and so on. you could do something different if you decided to do this. think about it.

The game was so much better back then, now I can never enjoy it again. The game was hard, food was hard to get, it was insanely dark, no sprinting, it was a struggle to progress, it had purpose, not everyone could do it. But now anyone can, minecraft lost itself. I wished someone would do a playthrough/100 days of a older version, you changed that. :) ❤ Some people who complain about old minecraft, never lived, they never played the real game, it hurts more than it should to see the heart of the game vanish. I think the flame burnt out a long time ago.

the old minecraft night sky is so beautiful, the way it rotates with the huge stars is really something. I think because you cant sleep that detail was in as compensation (or they removed stars because it was assumed you wouldnt bother looking at the sky at night)

You’d be right! I used an alpha resource pack and downloaded and alpha world (so the terrain looks like how it does in alpha) so I can use replay mod to get the 3rd person shots for the intro🤓

I played on a third party launcher called BetaCraft! You don’t need to login but just type your username (don’t need to type your password) and then press play and you should have your skin (or whatever skin is linked to that username; for example if you type OhTyZer you’d have my skin)
