Joel, don’t plant the tree saplings all near each other, you won’t get as many leaves because when one grows, it gets rid of the other leaves, when you plant them all at least 7 blocks apart, you can get more leaves, and thus, a higher chance of getting more saplings.

The double layering thing is really smart. Usually I do this when I don't have a lot of dirt so I fill in creeper holes with leaves and place dirt on top of it, it saves a lot of dirt that I can use for terraforming.

If you want a really tough one, try 100 days in a mooshroom fields only world. I believe the only way to get wood there is to find enough ruined portals to build your own portal and get wood from the nether. Or a wandering trader ig. I'd love to see that.
