Now you got me curious about Parfait Chunky and I might try it. I am also in Au and Toucan is my go to. I love the colour selection. I have made a lot of plushie and yes it can get tricky but I love it. It is the best for me. Better than Honey Bunny and the Snuggles one. I have learned a few tricks from Crochet Me Zaddy on how to do the magic circle and how to sew and frog. Have a look at his videos maybe that can help in future if you ever got another order. They are having a massive sale now and I just bought 100 skeins😅 I think am good for next year. But thanks for honest reviews, now I need to place another order with Parfait Chunky because I'm curious. Love your work 😊

Thanks so much for your comment! 🥰 I’m so glad you are liking toucan. I really hope that I just got a bad first batch. I ordered as soon as it was released. It seems very mixed in the reviews on their website so might just be that my batch was horrible :( I had to do the ch2 method for magic rings with toucan! Definitely give parfait chunky another try. I find their quality can be up and down with regards to the consistency of the fluffiness of the yarn on the strand. But always so easy to work with! Hehe always fun to buy yarn when it’s on sale, you will definitely be set for a while! 😆🎉

@@TheCottonFlorist I find that Toucan is stickier (it sticks to itself) and there are definitely tricks to working with it. It's not one I see myself replenishing in my stock. Parfait chunky does slide better and I find it nice to work with but the quality seems spotty. I've had skeins that are fantastic and others that weren't as consistent in thickness. Crochet me Zaddy just came out with 'A Really Good Chenille" yarn and I'd like to try it when they get a restock (the initial release sold out). It might be a really good one for AU creators since it's locally distributed.

I’m hoping to give crochet me zaddys yarn a try once he gets in more stock too. It looks great! Theres nother Aussie crocheter who also has a yarn company called “Scarli”. I really like her yarn too, very comparable to parfait chunky but ever so slightly thicker.

Im also in aus! So Thank you for the review! I have been looking at the site for ages but just didnt want to bite the checkout 😅 i have alot been checking out parfait chunky! Im a beginner and spotlight just doesnt have enough for my liking and thats the only craft shop we have unfortunately!

Hi!, and thanks for your comment! ☺️ Spotlight really doesn’t have the range the US have, and it’s such a shame! : I think if the conversion from aud to usd was better the yarn would be better value from Hobbii, but given the horrid exchange rate I don’t think it’s worth it. Definitely give parfait chunky a try! 🌸

@TheCottonFlorist 💕💕 thank you! I will definitely be giving them a try 💕 love you videos! I wish I had the confidence you do to do markets I just don't know if I could! But in my area there isn't anyone that crochet so it just makes me want to do it more! As I love making the little animals! And my kids love them and of course my oldest when he has birthday parties is asking me to make them something 💚

Oh I really hope you will give it a go! It’s really daunting at first but super fun, and after a few markets it will seem like a walk in the park! I watched a ton of market videos to prepare myself before my first event. You got this! 🎉🎉🎀

Hey! Stumbled upon this by chance. You mentioned some dolls getting too chunky with chenille - have you ever tried the Ricorumi Nilli Nilli? It's a tiny chenille for a 3mm hook. I'm using it for the first time rn actually and it works up nicely. Oeko Tex 100 and careful frogging no issue so far. Unsure if you can get a hold of it to try it in Australia? Cute Pokémon! :)

Oh thank you for the recommendation! I just did a quick google and there is a few online stores in Aus selling it! Do you remember what price you paid? It’s $4 Aud for 25g/ 60m here, which is a little expensive given the amount of yarn (but that’s probably just the Australian price after conversion). However the colour range is fantastic for dolls! If I see any around I will definitely give it a try! Thanks again for your recommendation! ☺️

@TheCottonFlorist Unfortunately Rico tends to be on the more expensive side i guess :/ I paid 1,69€ in my local yarn shop for 25g/65m. For reference non-sale price for 8/8 cotton friends 50g/75m on hobbii is 2,15€ for me. I would maybe try see if there ever is a sale on the rico if you DO like it and then get a lil stash^^' I will probably be doing that to make some smaller keychain amigurumi in the future

Ah that sounds like a plan! I’ll definitely see if I can get a skein or two to try! I like to give all yarns a try, regardless of price in case I find the ultimate yarn 😆

I didn't like Toucan :c It makes my hands hurt so bad and so fast! I prefer Honey bunny, specially pastel colours, MR with these ones is so easy to make! And my hands feel so good even after hours

Oh I’m sorry to hear toucan hurt your hands, it was a very dry catchy yarn! :( I’ll have to give honey bunny a try! I should give it a try whilst there’s sales on! Thanks for taking the time to comment :) 🌸
