Honestly, I like the “less is more” type of animation, cause it makes the moments that have more frames feel a lot more impactful.

im not kidding when i say i legit started crying in the middle of the animation as someone who's favorite campaign is also survivor's and having the base game impact me quite a lot, it's so wonderful to see how you portray not only the characters and the environment, but also the immaculate and unique atmosphere and feelings that i cannot even put into words. the "you" PMV of yours has been my absolute favorite and i think i've rewatched it hundreds of times by now, and this one, oh man... hits just the same. your art and animation direction is amazing. thank you for sharing it ^_^

In my opinion, "less is more" can be amazing as an animation style, but what really makes me love your style is the extraordinary ammount of frames you put into it. You always make it look so good, and even in this animation, where you're trying to remove frames, there is still some extremely smooth looking shots. Animate as much as you see fit, but know that you can do stuff that looks incredible even with excessive frames. I'd really like to see what you could do trying to work with the contrary idea, a "what if I added as many frames as possible, but still made it watchable, and possible to follow" type of video, though I know that would have to be really short, since it would take an immense amount of time and possibly make you insane. Either way, please keep making videos, I love your work.

Ngl… this is absurdly good. “Always that same blank expression...” I do really like the scug style. I always find them being more ‘animal-like’ helps insinuates their personality through actions, rather than directly; and reinforces the theme that despite how intelligent they might be, they are trapped in their animal struggles, forever fated to face the horror that is the natural order of RW. At least until they finally pilgrimage to the worm pond. Also, this reminds me that I need to get back to working on RW 3d art.

As cognizant as I am about the miniscule details of animating I had neverI even thought of the "framing economy" and making too many new shots. Okay, this is genuinely incredibly helpful. I always love hearing how others animate and their thought processes as they go along, but this is especially helpful for me, both in terms of learning techniques for animating and learning to just CHILL THE HELL OUT-- [cough] give myself the time and grace to not burn myself out of a project soon into (or even before) its creation process. This Behind-The-Scenes video is a nice reminder to not only relax and just try things, but also to enjoy myself while doing so. Sincerely, thank you

I haven’t even finished the video, but I can already tell that this has so much effort put into it, and for that I thank you North, for putting a lot of effort into something that, realistically, wouldn’t be seeing any people outside of the rain world fandom. (Well there is my friend’s KZbin, which has recently been suggesting rw vids to them, despite them never looking for anything that might result in this) I’d also like to mention some of my head cannons right now. Firstly, I would like to clear a few things up tho, one: sliver did in fact “die,” which in the context of iterators is ascension. two: Moon did not die, she entered more of a comatose, where the puppet and other parts of the iterator is not currently functioning, but there is an almost imperceptible amount of breathing. three: the triple affirmative was not a fluke. four: echos are created when a being that obsessively works for ascension attempts to ascend, hence why arti becomes an echo, but not gourmand. four: my order of events would be sliver collapses, ancients build pebbles, global ascension, pebbles and suns start discussing things, pebbles starts doing the thing, etc. So basically, the idea is that originally, saint was a regular scug, that befriended sliver, and eventually after learning of why she exists in the first place, he decides to go become an echo in the hopes of finding a way out for everyone. Saint, due to his wish, becomes an echo, but not the usual kind, as he is able to ascend others. Saint then returns to sliver, where she discovers of his new ability, and sends the ta, and requests that saint, after helping her, helps all others suffering from the cycle.

Like a lot of artists, seems like you're your own harshest critic! I'm not good enough to notice all the imperfections that you dislike so much, like the supposed inconsistencies, or the inbetween you mentioned at 7:49 - Anyone who isn't an artist, like myself, absolutely wouldn't be able to tell the difference. In fact, I could argue it actually makes the whole scene better overall to be economical, because it makes scenes with more fluid animation (i.e. the rain) have bigger impact. That's something even I was able to appreciate. Regardless, it's super cool to see you've gone from 3 months = 2 minutes to 2 months = 4 minutes! the progress is awesome!! p.s. good luck with your thesis!

15:05 I can relate... for the past year or so I had gotten into modding cave story, starting out as a silly joke intended to foray into trying to mod that game but eventually developed into a project I was actually pretty happy to have made. But after posting it I felt kind of... empty. Every day till then I'd pretty much default to working on it any time I had a funny idea I wanted to see myself pull off in the game, or just had nothing better to do because I was bored of other passtimes like DRG or TF2. At that point I didn't really have much for those moods any more, I had no passion project to work on and feel like I was serving a meaningful purpose, even if the end product would probably be little more than a bit of enjoyment and humor for others, it was something I could feel proud making. And I am still proud of it! But probably the best part is as a free game-mod-thing that's main focus is humorous endeavors I can always come back to it and keep adding things for minor updates I'll occasionally post as time goes on, so while it's not a major focus of mine any more it's not completely gone...
