Silent subscriber. As someone who went to fashion school and makes clothes and does branding, THIS is the most authentic, well thought out and love filled brand I have ever seen. Every detail being thought through on a deeper level, to match your core values truly is spectacular. The fashion world is missing this kind of authenticity and attention to detail, in my opinion. When I saw your size range I was blown away. In the fashion industry, people often shy away from size inclusivity on their first launches because of the extra costs and labor but WOW that was really what blew me away. I am with you on this never being in my price range. No way I would ever be able to spend almost $200 CDN on a pair of sweatpants no matter how much I love Mia. I do appreciate the natural fibre aspect and the behind the scenes explainations though. I'll stick to thrifting, never cared about luxury goods anyway. Spending that much on clothing, I would be terrified to wear it for fear of it getting ruined. I do appreciate the size inclusion as a plus size lady, not many will accomodate larger sizing.

Beautiful Mia! I think for the future as a marketing standpoint, “pre-ordering” will benefit your business. Allowing people to pay for the products first, while telling them an estimated shipment time, and a couple of months later sending them out will allow for more people to get the items. I saw Tabitha Brown spoke about that when she started getting her business off the ground (spoke about it on Scott Evans ‘houseguest’ KZbin video). Overall, amazing work! Zippers are a good idea but the thing with zippers on sweats is that they can create a weird bulge on the side, which may not be flattering on everyone! And zippers can also be uncomfortable for some people with sensory sensitivities

From a professional clothing designer: well done! Very well thought out collection. Even a strawberry hater (me) would love those pieces. Also I wanna point out that even when cotton is heavier for the environment to grow and turn into fabric (water usage, pestesides, acid washes, etc.) it's more durable in use than many other materials. So when thinking about sustainability it's good to concider the wear time too. It might take a lot to make a leather jacket but it'll last almost infinite amount of time for example. I love your fabric choise too regarding to that! Also the lyocell yes yes yes. If 5% elastane makes garments way more comfortable to wear - don't worry about it. That's a good ratio still and makes people buy sustainable clothing more instead of those horrible mixtures of materials. Also THANK YOU for using embroidery instead of ink or other things. Embroidery will last looking new for a long time. Some brands started to embroider the care tags too since those are usually cut off or the ink from those washes out. Then the care for the garment is harder and might ruin it and to the landfill it goes.

Absolutely love this video. I am an English trend forecaster based in Vietnam/Cambodia and am always looking for ways to explain the process from concept to execution in a simple digestible way, and this video is it! Although I definitely don’t need warm fleecy clothes over here (plus shipping internationally to Cambodia is a nightmare as we don’t have addresses - true fact) I just want to say from someone that has been in this industry for 20 years I have an enormous amount of respect for someone putting this much passion, authenticity and integrity into this project! It's actually so great to see individuals creating products they want. Honestly, I don’t really care how much these products cost because I know that Mia is someone who really cares about sustainability. Because of this, I know that these products will be worth the cost, both in quality and environmentally. Also, I’ve been watching Mia for years and I would buy these products without hesitation, even while I often do hesitate at buying a sweat set that cost more than $60 per piece, simply because I love e who Mia is as a person and how she is someone is so genuine. Im only 4 minutes in but im already in awe this is so inspirational. I love sewing and one of if not my biggest hobby is fashion designing and it is so wonderful to see another designer want to produce clothing that is special and made for their audience. Ethics and sutainability is super important especially in the fashion industry and it baffles me that there are people out there who still dont care how their clothes are made. Fast fashion labour is a humanitarian and womens rights issue that needs to be addressed by designers and manufacturers. It seems like there was just so much love in these garments. With an industry where theres so much coorporate greed this is the most refreshing thing to see. It reminds me of what fashion is all about. This is so awesome and you should be proud of yourself Mia!

9:51 embroiderer here! I assume youre using a small business to embroider. We have to hoop each piece individually, which means some variation in location just by the nature of being done by a human. Especially with different sizes. Small pieces cant always be hooped the same as larger pieces because of the size of the hoop, seam locations, pockets etc. That can interfere in hoop placement.

I never comment on KZbin videos because I watch from my TV, but I had to hop on my phone to comment real quick. I simply wanted to say I’ve been watching Mia for years, and the way she presents everything in a realistic fashion is something that makes me drawn to these videos. This video especially showed that. The “fulfillment basement” gives a REALISTIC idea of how these processes start, and it could really inspire other people to start up their own small businesses. I know a lot of people are daunted by the ideal because we think of successful businesses like Walmart and think we can’t be that. We all start somewhere! First, a basement. Then, a full on warehouse. Then, warehouses all over! Also, I’m excited to get a pair of sweatpants and a shirt! I also live for comfort and these sets look so, so flattering. I hope it will be flattering for my body type too!

While I didn't buy anything, one comment mentioned it just a few minutes ago but I'll reiterate, please reserve items RIGHT when they're added to the cart next time! Would save people the hassle of having to rush to put their info in and make sure it's correct, then finding out the items they were about to purchase sold out! Also, I don't know if it's a feature, but I suggest putting a quantity limit for the items to prevent resellers from buying them up! 4 is usually the number to go to, though it can be as few as 2 for a particular item if it's a major issue.

I think something like that is more than fair. Gives shoppers enough time to finish picking their items and check out, but if they don't follow through the items are release from hold and give someone else a shot at them!

Congrats on the launch, Mia! The t-shirt looks really cute and the material seems super comfy. A little suggestion you might consider for future releases is maybe to have different pocket linings, a darker colour for darker pants etc. The cute pale strawberry lining is a lovely touch on its own, but when used in the dark green sweatpant, looks odd.

Congrats Mia! yes that seems like a long time but designing/developing/sourcing fabric (especially recycled/ethically made) is not easy! And even harder IMO to obtain in Canada, not only do we have limited sources here (depending where you live) but also good sources elsewhere don’t ship here .. Not many people put that much care/thought/effort into their products so good for you! Been watching you for many years and never comment but felt the need to give you some props because I know how much work you put into this and I also wanted to reiterate what others have commented, you have always stayed the same Mia from the start ..down to earth/honest, sweet funny girl we’ve all grown to know & love!
