Actually girls, it’s all about letting your hair get used to it! My hair used to be like that too but you gotta let your hair get used to it. Like now, it’s so used to being washed every 2-3 days for you both that, it starts oiling up as soon as it hits that mark! So if you really want your hair to get in th habit of lasting a whole week, invest in a good dry shampoo cos that’s the BEST thing you can do. I use batiste personally. Eventually, you will be able to last a week as well without them being super oily :)

Amy I am a hairstylist and the reason you are still having red and copper under tones is because it was not toned properly....putting a N which is a neutral color is not going to cancel out red or orange color...you have to tone it with a green or blue which would be a ash color like a 5A or 4A....when toning hair the color wheel is your best friend and red/green and blue/orange are complimentary colors so they create a neutral tone when formulated correctly 😊
@AmyMacedo6 жыл бұрын
julia Black That’s What I figured! I think when I re-colour I’m going to mix a neutral with an ash so that the ash can cancel out the red. I’m debating on doing just an ash or doing 50/50 neutral & ash though
@juliablack88036 жыл бұрын
You could do 50/50 I would just suggest that you make sure that the level ash you do is the same level as your hair or maybe 1 level darker and then the neutral you can get the level you like so for example maybe do equal parts (50/50) of level 4A and level 5N......by the way you are my absolute favorite KZbinr 🤗

julia Black hey.. I have reddish tones in my hair and I want to color my hair a light brown. Would the red tones still shoe thru.. or would I need an ash color also?? I was just reading your comments.. thank you
@juliablack88036 жыл бұрын
Kelly Crocker it depends on what level you are now and what level you want to be....so if you are a level 4 and want more of a neutral brown tone then you could do equal parts of a level 4A and level 4N and the Ash color should cancel out the red and tone it...buuuut if you are a level 4 and want to me like a level 5 or 6 then you will have the lighten it and that’s when it can get dangerous for your hair to do on your own if you don’t know what your doing.....you will have to lighten it and lighten it enough to go threw that red orange stage and then go back in a put the equal parts of 6A and 6N......I hope this helps lol coloring the hair can be so confusing because it is never the same for each person due to the undertones in their hair and how their hair pulls when you lighten

I don’t understand why so many people think they “need” to wash their hair every day... use a good dry shampoo, not a $5 one from the drugstore... go to Sephora and just invest in a high quality one. i'm super late but here r some detanglers/ brushes I recommend if you have knotty hair like me lmao: -Tangle teezer (btw too expensive for me lmao) - lily England detangler - Michel mercier detangler brush - a wooden brush for your hair type (more expensive than most brushes but healthier and better for the world lol) tips I recommend: -wash your hair 1 or 2 times a week (no more even if your hair is greasy!!) -Use conditioner or hair mask 1 a week - use hair oil for your roots -don't brush your hair too often -don't blow dry it or curl/ straighten it (even if you use a protection for heat like me it still doesn't help much) - put them into a loose low ponytail when you go sleeping (trust me I've been doing this since 2 years and I can never sleep with my hair open again), so you don't have any knots when u wake up -don't use hairspray etc. (too often) - know what's in your shampoo (avoid silicon!!) - choose products for your hair type correctly -don't bleach/ color your hair (too often) it's not very good tho -cut your ends 1 in 1 or 2 months so it can grow healthy that's it thanks for taking the time to read this bye!!:)

The underlying pigment of dark brown and medium brown hair is red/orange. You can counteract some of that with ash/green pigment by choosing an ashy dark brown (natural or 4n won’t work) u should add green in. But just remmeber you’ve gone from black which is completely cool to dark brown. Most dark browns have some red orange reflects under the light ! The dimension is what makes them more than a flat black. It took me ages to figure that out. ! Some warmth is normal because the underlying pigment of dark brown hair is red !

A lot of comments are about how you can only wash your hair 1 a week and that they are going to try it. But here’s my opinion in this; washing your hair truly depends on your hair. Like if you have dry hair you can probably go by with washing it once every week and that is probably better for your hair so that it doesn’t dry it out any more. But if you have medium hair, maybe twice a week would be good considering that after 2 day of washing your hair, your hair will only be a little bit oily. But the thing for OILY hair is that it tends to get greasy real quick. Of course you still should not wash your hair everyday. But if your hair is very oily every other day would work wonders. Considering that if you hair stays oily for too long it will loose volume and can cause dandruff. So you should wash you hair according to your hair needs.

Conditioner/ deep conditioner tip: before putting your conditioner get a towel and try to get all the water out. Then put conditioner of your choice and wash out. You will find that it feels softer when your hair is dry. Having less water when putting on conditioner will make your hair absorb the conditioner a lot better.

It's a gradual switch but you have to quit those harmful ingredients (that I can't even remember the names of anymore) and just think nourishment of your hair because those oils contain so much nourishment and it will help protect against breakage and stuff, but when you wash your hair often your hair is trying to give out the nourishment faster than you remove it so it is in total overdrive. I've quit human shampoo and switched to Espree dog shampoo and conditioner as crazy as that sounds but it contains only natural stuff, including lots of vitamins and other very nourishing stuff and my hair takes forever to look or feel greasy now because it no longer acts like I'm in war with a natural process. I'm even experimenting how long it takes and from the past going 1-2 days max to look nasty I'm now past the 2 weeks mark and it looks and feels clean. My hair grows like weed too when it gets to produce the oils at the pace that originally was intended and my hair never smells dirty anymore. It does get itchy but that's it. The stretch between washes though was very gradual and if I got sick I used that to my advantage in the wash-stretching. Let me tell you, washing up without dealing with hair every time is so freaking liberating because you save time like crazy! And water, and product, and money.

If some you want to go washing your hair two time a week, over the summer keep going a day without washing your hair.Your hair will be greasy the first couple months but when it comes to school time your hair won’t be greasy.Thats what I did with my long hair and my hair is a lot more healthy then before.Also watch products that have sulfate in it as it will strip your oils.☺️

I wash my hair once or twice a week and use very little heat on it, my hair has grown so long but it needs a trim to be more healthy, but I love how sleek for your hair

This might be a bit of a silly question but what temperature water do you wash your hair in? Because I have heard that it is better to wash your hair in cold water.
@reemalgh31026 жыл бұрын
the best thing to do is to shampoo with luke warm water and rinse with cold

It’s crazy cause if I don’t wash my hair everyday it falls out and it’s not healthy but all I’ve heard everywhere is DONT wash it everyday! I wash mine everyday and I have nice long brown hair so I think everyone really is different

That's because your hair is already used it, washing hair every day isnt a good idea since once you become older your hair will become thin and thinner

I recently changed hair stylist and she gave me some great tips. She told me to wash my hair once a week too. Which I also found shocked by, she told me the reason my hair falls out a lot when I do wash it is bc I'm not combing it everyday, which is true I wasn't. Also said to use a cleansing conditioner in between washes (I've never heard of a cleansing conditioner so I looked into it ). I too had oily and dandruff hair type like some girls that commented and I first researched the shampoo I would use and then started doing the steps I mentioned and bam. I'm on my way to good healthy hair. I'm still not there yet but I can see the results already. I don't use as much products as amy does bc I know how my hair can get oily so I stay away from putting too much product. Esp since I'm only washing my hair once a week. And I deff don't put any product on my roots. Thank u for the video Amy. Xo

Okay so I started on the 30th, washed my hair today, I have like fall out but my hair feels thicker. Like I have 2 kids and used to have thick hair, so far I feel it’s thicker. Dry shampoo is my hero because I workout and sweat 😭 but still sticking to it! I shower, wash with shampoo, add conditioner, (I use Dove brand). I dab my hair to dry it just a little bit to where it’s not dripping all over the floor, then add coconut oil, dime size all over my hair, then heat blocking spray, then I blow dry it with a round brush so it ends kinda straight, then on the 2nd or 3rd day I straighten it. My hair is naturally curly/a mess so I had my hair “done” all week ❤️❤️❤️ I feel like it grew too so I’m going to measure it today and next week update again 😂

Alsoooo I want to add that I’ve washed my hair everyday like my whole life. If I didn’t wash it I’d feel like i didn’t even shower lol but for the sake of having my hair look like Amy’s, then so be it honeyyy. So y’all might catch me buying and using cute shower caps from now on 😭😂

I was my hair every other day, I tried going longer between washes, I mean i tried, for months, but my scalp just isn’t playing, it gets itchy and flaky and all round gross. I think it’s very personal to you and when you personally need to wash it. Every other day is perfect for me because my scalp doesn’t get itchy but it’s enough time for my hair to get oily.

Just a tip, if you want to strip hair color use a clarifying shampoo or drugstore shampoo. Salon quality formulas keep hair color intact.
